GRVY and FaceBook.
A few weeks ago in an email exchange with IR, the IR director mentioned off hand that Emil Chronicle and Requiem are being formatted for the FaceBook Platform.
This was in the context of asking if RO2 was heading to FaceBook. The answer, at that time was no, because they already have strong platform deals in place with the current RO that they planned to roll over to RO2.
There has been no news release concerning GRVY and FaceBook and GRVY IR says they will not pr that news until it happens.
Some investors of late have been urging IR to get news out there concerning FaceBook but GRVY is very conservative in its approach now, having been burned on release dates in the past with RO2. They want the games ON FaceBook..........then the news.
This is due to happen soon, imo, but I urge investors to contact IR and ask them to post news about the ongoing FaceBook formatting, as a way of giving investors a heads up.
In any event, it is clear that GRVY is getting hot and about to get hotter, imo.
NOTE: As late as a few weeks ago, GRVY IR did not understand the type of response FaceBook news would generate with investors. imo. They do now, however, and are intent on making that FaceBook news count. Saving it for a turbo-charge of the stock after the RO2 release.
In addition, GRVY management are very smart folks and are willing to take short term heat in order to get it just right.
absolutely. aside that and many other positive things I also like that opportunity:
Gravity Co., Ltd (GRVY)
Gravity Co., a Korean Company trading through ADSs representing ¼ of a share, has a market capitalization of $40.31 million, and is trading at a TTM P/E of 6.04, but earnings are expected to decline. GRVY has a low Price/Book of 0.49. The ROE is 8.57%.
The stock has been having a strong performance lately, being up 7.41% in just the last week. However, the stock is still down by -15.20% from the start of 2011.
GRVY is interesting as a takeover candidate for several reasons. First, it trades at a very low Price/Book, and most importantly, it even trades below the cash it has in its balance sheet. This is particularly important because the company is profitable and growing, albeit not much. Also, GRVY is established in an attractive market segment, online massive multiplayer gaming, drawing the kind of subscription revenues that are also very attractive. It is thus attractive both from a strictly financial perspective, as well as a strategic perspective for other gaming companies wanting to enter, or extend their presence, in the online gaming market segment.
A possible obstacle to this could be the 59% ownership by a single shareholder (GungHo Online), however this shareholder is levered and might be interested in selling if the opportunity presents itself.

What I like is that there are only 28M shares O/S. If we have a couple high volume buying days due to the news that is forthcoming, we should soar.

May I add two bits of information?
It is my understanding that Gravity will put out a news release this upcoming week announcing the official commercial release of RO2 with a March, 2012 start date. That news will have a dramatic impact on the stock price when hits the wires, imo.
In addition, GRVY is about to release two of its mobile social network games on the FaceBook platform. This information has not been sent out in a news release, but GRVY is not keeping it a secret either. Anyone may email IR and they will confirm that.
The Gravity@ FaceBook news is very big, indeed, especially now that ZNGA is pulling back from FaceBook, leaving GRVY in a very nice position to pick up some of the 800 million FaceBook users as Gravity game players.
Here is a link to one mobile social network game that GRVY is moving to FaceBook.
Note the link below is where current Emil Chronicle player meet to chat on FaceBook. An incredible 332,000 players.
How many of the 800 million FaceBook users will join them?

Zynga Platform available in.....KOREAN.
"Stated in its press release, Zynga.com is anticipated to be up and flying this month. Available in 16 languages, the play service will run not only in English, German, Northern Euopean and the Romance languages, but also in Turkish, Indonesian, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Thai. The company, after working with specified platform partners will make the Zynga Platform more widely available to all third party game developers through an API later this year."
http://technorati.com/technology/cloud-computing/article/zynga-platform-ready-to-launch-skyward/page-2/
The Zynga Game Platform & Gravity Ltd:
ZNGA made news late this week but the real winner is GRVY, imo.
Zynga is almost entirely dependent on FaceBook for gaming traffic. They intend to expand their base and protect themselves from reliance on FaceBook via their own stand alone gaming platform.
Gravity on the other hand has no dependence whatever on FaceBook and will shortly be moving mobile social network games onto that platform to expand their user base by an astounding 800 million potential users.
So, while ZNGA is moving away from FaceBook to expand, GRVY is doing exactly the opposite for the same reason.
The difference is, of course , that GRVY will have added 800 million potential users for free while ZNGA will take years , if ever, to find that kind of growth off the FaceBook platform.
ZNGAs stock has been on fire lately and its quite reasonable to assume that GRVY is about to get at least that hot and maybe hotter for the reasons enunciated above.
Zynga Platform news:

NHOD after hrs 2.85 now it is 2.83 GO GRVY!!!!!!!!
Major money in gamers this week.
ZNGA sending the sector higher.
GRVY to follow.
The RO2 launch will be quite soon, imo.

GRVY IR: email from 2/29/2012
Dear XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Thank you for your inquiry.
Since RO2 still has some technical errors (bugs) like many other games in the OBT stage, we may need some more time to fix them but we do not believe it would take long time. Currently, we expect the launch date will be in March.
As I explained to you in my lengthy email dated February 17 and some other previous emails, Gravity Interactive will put out press releases when Emil Chronicle Online and Requiem are released on Facebook.
Again, I do know that our investors are waiting for news but we would like to disclose information when it is finalized. Your understanding is much appreciated.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Yoon Joo Lee

Ragnarok Online 2 (RO2), developed and published by Korea-based Gravity, officially kicked off its OBT on February 22nd. In comparison with its prequel, RO2 provides greater freedom and interaction including character emotes and social actions, as well as instances and cooperative monster hunting that don't exist in the prequel. ......read more: http://news.mmosite.com/content/q/2012-02-25/ro2_obt_review_inheriting_prequel_and_innovation_1.shtml
Someone keeps wacking GRVY down to get cheap shares.. IMO
Commercial release on days. USA news due.
Got it late last night.
Dear Mr. XXXXXXX
We are going to issue a press release in English regarding the commercial launch of RO2 in several days. While we do have a PR schedule internally, the commercial launch date may be moved one day or two earlier or later based on the results of the first some days of the open beta testing. Since the open beta testing period is expected to be relatively short and a “testing” has nothing to do with our revenues, we did not issue a separate press release for the open beta testing in the U.S.
Again, thank you very much for your valuable advice.
Kind regards,
Yoon Joo Lee

Commercial release. Approx 10 days.
GRVY IR is CLEAR on this.
This is the FINAL tune up before launch........like NASA.
Once they flipped the switch there is no turning back.
They lit the candle last night.
You are watching the launch now............real slow at first......then its gone.
GT - My understanding is 7-10 days until the closed Beta.
Sound about right?
Best of Wealth!
Really nice job calling the bottom on this one!

Open beta. Only a few days.
The commercial release is right there.
Anyone that says other wise is dead wrong.
RO2 commercial launch is only days away.
Someone just put in a bid at 2.80 for 50k shares.
Volume starting to pick up after a slow day.
Should only shareholders be here? I was a shareholder until like 30 minutes ago when someone on this board said something alarming about "commercial release". I googled it and simultaneously sold and posted here for full disclosure. I am still here because I continue to monitor it and will buy back below $2 or if data shows that the open beta is doing well.
Your comments lead to some questions. If you just sold your shares then why are you even here? Are you here out of the goodness of your heart to warn all of us? I think not! Sounds like a feeble attempt to scare peeps out of shares. Go away.
It's common sense. Look at the link I put up a few minutes ago. It describes that their last open beta of raganork 2 was a failure. This is their 2nd attempt of an open beta. You would hope they would get it right many years later, but given the history, it would be foolish of them to issue a PR on an open beta. They'd want definitive proof it is working first perhaps even with data to back it up when annouced in the PR. I don't know how long open betas are supposed to take. Someone mentioned 7-10 days, but I don't see any reason the stock will run up in the near-term anymore from here. I bought in the $2.00 to $2.10 range and sold at $2.94 yesterday and $2.69 just now. I may get back in if it goes back below $2 or after a PR release confirming the success of the open beta which won't be soon.
Do you have a link for this info(no pr) or is this just your opinion?
no they aren't stupid. A beta release is not newsworthy. Especially since they blew their beta release last time.
Confirmed - Feb 22nd going into "open beta" in Korea http://www.siliconera.com/2012/01/30/ragnarok-online-2-remake-finally-going-into-open-beta/
this definitely doesn't get a news release and their last open beta was a failure.
Just sold all my shares. will buy back later if the beta does well.
no PR coming anytime soon folks
listen......Expectations of a PR from Gravity could still happen at anytime to this new relearse of RagnarokII...........imho,TRYZ
Then why all the hype and expectation around a PR? Of course there won't be a PR now if it's a testing stage.
possibly a gaming user test period and online trial de-bugging to website before actual commercial launch.....???
what's the difference between this "launch" and a commercial launch in 7-10 days? I thought THIS was the commercial launch we were all waiting for.
Please place on Yahoo board....
Im out of bullets.....lol

GRVY: Up 50% in 4 sessions.
The stock made a very healthy move today.
This one is going to make some huge money for investors.
Heck, it already has.
That "crash" was just normal trading oscillation after some big moves up. So far, nothing to worry about.
I agree. This is still a solid play (no pun intended)
My guess would be profit takers...leading to panic sellers.
Possibly a few shorts jumping in as well.
No news that I can see...unless someone knows something we don't.
BUT...56mil in cash...no debt..and a new game beta release in the very near future...I would not panic.
Got to be some profit taking at the end of the day. Big run up last week or two. hopefully back to buying tomorrow. This one should have plenty of up side with the news coming out. Big
