Looks like a great long term hold...........
just china sector correction
HUGE: China LCD Growth Booms September 6th, 2006
LCD-TVs enjoyed the biggest growth in the Chinese electronics industry with Y/Y unit growth up 168%, according to statistics published by China’s Ministry of Information Industry (MII) on its Chinese-language web site. What was unexpected about the numbers was the unusually small loss in the CRT-TV segment, down just 1.6% Y/Y.
To put things in perspective it’s important to note that in the January-July time frame, CRT’s shipped 10x the number of LCD-TVs in China-41M vs. 3.8M units respectively. If the present 168% growth rate is maintained, total shipments of LCD-TVs will overtake CRT-TVs in 2009.
RPTV’s are also showing a strong growth rate at 87% Y/Y. Surprisingly, the manufacture of Plasma TVs in China declined, at a higher rate than the modest drop in CRTs.
Perhaps some of the selling pressure was from disappointed players playing for a prompt PR at the expiration of the quiet period.
Hey Jay,
What's with the 2 hard down days? Picked up 2,500 again at 11.55 today. Should expect a nice bounce anytime soon.
Just bought a few thousand shares here in the $11.50s. Risk is very minimal at these levels IMO.
Here is some SUPER DD on FFHL!!!
Top 10 Rev Growth/Margin Expansion Opportunities for 2007
List of opportunities in 2007 for Fuwei Films:
1) Opening 3rd Line(23,000 capacity) of High-end Higher Margin Film in 2007 almost doubling current capacity.
2) FFHL continues to convert current Two Lines(29,000 capacity) of Production from Commodity to High-End Film increasing margins.
3) 3 Targeted acquisitions for 2007 bringing online another 25,000 capacity.
4) Sales/Marketing decrease in 2007 as a percentage of sales. Saw bump up in training/sales 2006 due to start of conversion.
5) Expected drop in Raw Materials-Resin prices in 2007 which weighed down on 2006 margins.
6) Push by China to implement anti-counterfeiting measures--Fuwei's higher margin holographic film will be in much demand.
7) Focus on higher margin Speciality Films used in LCDs, other electronic film.
8) Fuwei's ability to manufacture high-end BOPET film at 20% discount to foreign competitors.
9) Export opportunities.
10) Interest on IPOs monies if not used to pay down debt.
OT the next FFHL / EFUT IMO is ATEA, a 1.8 MM float profitable sofware stock that was $26 last January with exploding JAPAN / CHINA software business. ATEA rose $1 to $6.70 on Friday but has potential to go much higher- ATEA is in better shape than when it reached $26 in January.
Here are major reasons ATEA is a compelling investment:
1) ATEA Japan / China business is exploding: New Japan license deals signed with AlphaNet, Sony, and MTServices. China distribution agreement signed in late 2005.
2) 1.8 MM float 35% owned by institutions.
3) HUGE DISCOUNT TO SECTOR: 1.0 Price/Sales ratio compared to 3.0 Industry average. IF ATEA traded at Industry average would be in $25 range.
bet some flippers are chasing now...
No we don't. I haven't been trading it...I've held from $8.80...I know many have been merely flipping it from my alerts. It's all good. I think it might pull back some tomorrow. Hard to say. Very nice. Make sure you check out FCCN too. My two big holds.
agree chart.......looks like a lil gap coming a.m. on our beloved ffhl........will pull back for the rebuy or add.......
the only problem i have is whether to trade it or just continue the long position.........longing it is easier for me.......but more money can be made by trading it, i think
a good crapshoot.......and we dont see too many of those, my friend
Might pullback here some now..maybe only .50 or as much as the 15 - 15.50 area...before heading out again.

Fuwei Films Low Float Momentum Mover
On December 22, Fuwei Films Co. Ltd. (NASDAQ: FFHL), a maker of specialty plastic film used in a variety of industries, reported that its initial public offering raised $35.7 million. The company sold 4.3 million shares at $8.28 per share. Shares have continued to rise since the initial public offering, trading up $1.86 to $14.86 in today's session alone on heavy volume of 2.5 million shares. Fuwei Films stock price appears to be following in the footsteps of eFuture Information Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: EFUT). e-Future, another new Chinese issue, completed the IPO process back in November when it sold 1.13 million shares at $6.00 per share. It began trading on the NASDAQ and just barely a week after its debut hit a high of $49.83 per share. The small float clearly played a role in enabling such a large appreciation in price, and with Fuwei Films also boasting a small float, the stock is poised to move past last week's high of $15.79 as momentum traders have dubbed Fuwei the next eFuture.
MMs shaking the tree very hard. LOL
Found a page I wanted to share on FFHL
When I was looking for information this board was positive about the company so I came back to share this daytrader's page of information that I found.
Droid7.

Best to all.
Wow, I just hope they blast out earnings! This is one of a few IPOs I have bought. $20/$40 sounds GOOD
Some basics on FFHL...
IPO price was roughly 6x pe, industry standard is 12x
FFHL grew their revenues 310% between 2004 and 2005
FFHL should earn somewhere around $.60 for the year.
This company is not even comparable to EFUT. FFHL is very dynamic and growing quickly. Low float (3.7mm) and the fact that its China should send it skyrocketing. Fair value should be somewhere around $20 a share, throw in the china growth factor and FFHL could see $40.
Current market cap is still very low at $160 mm.
I am almost exclusively a short seller, but this was too good to pass up. In at $ 9.75
Thanks Quick. I will take a look at EGEI. My goal for 2007 is to quadruple my investments and accumulate solid profit. My stategy is to sell once I hit a double (unless of course, if the momo is too strong or I hope to double again soon); to cut my loses quick and ride the winners
Good luck to us all

I am in at an average of 8.97. I have not sold a single share. You should have a double before your wildest dreams. In a week or three it will fly past 20.00 if not next week. Maybe even Tuesday. With efut hitting 49.90 and still above 30, you could make a point for ffhl hitting 60 or 70 as a high and staying around 40. If your looking for a stock with a huge potenial with a 6 to 8 month hold take a look egei.ob I do not see any funny stuff in the sec files at all. Trading in the .58 to .68 area. 18.5m o/s with everything included. Float looking like 13m or so. This one has been and still is totally overlooked.
Yes, Plus FFHL has plans to use part of the IPO proceeds to acquire one of three smaller companies that they have targeted. So do I see 30 to 40s. Yes in about 18 to 24 months
I am long here

Thin film LCD screens
When I read this I sold several holding I had
FFHL will be utilizing ipo monies to invest in new production lines capable of increasing the capacity of the production as well produce thicker films of 50 to 200 microns. FFHL expects to expand into the electrical and electronic film markets with these thicker films. Targeted will be thin film LCD screens. Currently much of the film used in LCD screens in China is imported. FFHL believes they can use their low cost production capabilities in China to manufacture and sell their new films cheaper then the imports.
Hey Quick...did you get in at 8.25? I picked some at 10.65 for the long haul. I am expecting a double with 6 to 8 months. Good luck to us all
