Uh oh. Don't look now. Good thing I bought at the very bottom.
Pretty impressive, I must say. Good thing I sold at the very top.
How about the drop from $6?
Yeah... Should've not posted ... Yes this move up has been like watching snails race.
Who knows maybe volume will pick up and run this to double digits.
I've got my tickets !!
THANK YOU for killing the run golfndude!
Check msears99 on yoohoo if you haven't already. Seems to be some new institutional positions and side pressure being applied to the Portnoy regime that could benefit FVE shareholders. Of course actually improving occupancy by a decent amount, in other words DOING BUSINESS sure couldn't hurt.
This creep to $6 has just been weird.
Back over $6 ..... You think it's on it's way up? Way up ? As from your previous posts?
Anybody catch The Voice last night?
Sure is some weather we've been having.
Bordering on non-existent today. If there were any selling of any size, you'd think the price drop would be pretty big. There have been several days like yesterday with a decent price drop on low volume, but each time, the next day the price has rebounded (plus a little bit) on slightly higher (but not monstrous) volume.
Seems very methodical.
Next stop $20! Ready? Go.
No doubt it's moving on very light volume.
More than Paul Mitchell at work here. Minimal volume on this climb. The real move may be coming over the horizon.
Perhaps some Paul Mitchell products?
Time to reload ?
In the immortal words of Sergeant Schultz, "I know noTHING!"
Up nicely on low volume .... $6's coming back ?
I sold most of mine on the last run .. Only a little left... Been holding MPEL since $11 now $38... Holding for $45-$50
With the volume to back it up.
I should probably take the opportunity to move on to green pastures. I'm still up nicely on FVE, but it just continues to plod and not make any real progress.
Or maybe I'll just hold it and piss away my gains.
Zzzzzz or let's sell and buy back under $3
Throw us a bone, for Pete's sake. Q after Q of mediocre performance at best, with some profits. Maybe it's time to move on.
Yup ... Made a ton on the way up and down !!
The whole sector is in the can. Occupancy and being out of favor, I think.
Most of them had a great run a couple of years back.
Good luck!

You missed it? It went to $85 and then dropped back to $5.24. I sold at $81 and golfndude sold at $84.999999. Then we shorted the crap out of it and now we're both long back at 5.06 (or so) average. It'll probably top out at $77 on this next run.
Seriously though, I want to see some occupancy numbers IMPROVE!

I haven't been in FVE in some time and thought I'd check on it.
I see it hasn't moved much.

None Michigan where I live. But, I saw some properties near where I grew up in Florida. They look like a typical resort. I wonder about brand equity with FVE. Nearly all of the one I saw look very different from the next. As nice as they look, it surprises me that FVE stock seems stagnant. I go back to brand equity or what distinguishes FVE from its competitors. Just wondering. Although I am long FVE, I have a sell order in above $6. In the meantime, I'm looking for the silver lining in this stock.
There is one a mile away from my house. Nice complex over looking a high end Country Club golf course in one of the wealthiest areas in the nation.
Has anyone ever visited an FVE property? What are your thoughts?
$6 by close today. 10 minutes from now.
AND FVE will buy Walmart.
Q isn't horrible for "a company". A public company that continues to underperform, in other words Five Star, it's definitely less than impressive. Didn't they say in the CC last quarter that occupancy had improved since the end of the quarter? And they pull that again? Sounds like the facilities sales is a step in the right direction, but there are a couple questions in my mind. 1. Will they actually be able to sell them for a reasonable amount? 2. Will this sale have a positive or negative or no effect on occupancy? Did they mention what the occupancy levels of these facilities are?
What's that stupid curlicue thing at the front of the price? Looks like an upside down "g". Whatever it is, I'm sure it's not good.
Still a month out on earnings. Today was very nice. Just need MORE of days like this!
Thanks for seeing that, golfndude. We'll see how long that gain lasts after Bernanke speaks tomorrow. :)
Best of luck.

You're green !!
The chart looks good to me, chainma. Since early May the climb has been relatively steady from a low of about $4.55.
I don't have an exit in mind and may hold for some time. I sold my CSU for a profit but it appears to be going sideways and not allowing much headroom for trading.
Good hunting.

What prompted the new "risk"?
Do you have an exit point in mind?
Would have been nice to close over $5, but at least the volume is encouraging.
