My plan is to sell next year to take a tax loss then
Sounds like a reasonable plan. Not sure if there are any "technicals". But no harm in waiting around to see if herd emotion can get ya a better exit price. Unlikely management will help. They have issued the usual "we're working on it" PR. However, there's always the possibility of some affiliate with well laundered shares trying to stir the pot. Potential traders buying, and then exciting the herd with rumors. Rumors never cost anything to post.
Watch for heavy volume when the PPS dips, and whether new posters (traders) show up trying to pump the stock. Ideally a 3rd party promo article appears. It doesn't happen often with greys, but on rare occasions a spontaneous pump can happen. A second chance for an exit, or for those still believing in a miracle another chance at those cheap shares. Meanwhile any traders can try a quick flip.
It's probably a 6 month post suspension clock ticking, as to whether or not some pump run occurs. After that it will fade away, down to the usual 0001.
The shares can still be bought, but to get a quote you must call your brokerage. The SEC suspension (past) apparently results in the stock automatically being demoted to the grey market. There is a process ( which FVSTA is pursuing) to get reinstated, if the company satisfies the SEC.
The majority of the new arrivals here frequent the board (in particular when the sp shows some strength - recently trading .015-.019), due to the fact they arrived post suspension to assure us the shareprice was dooomed to the .00s. There was NOT alot of panic selling, the sp has revovered 1/2, and the company stated they are pursuing reinstatement. They do business in Russia, so the verification is alot more difficult....however Chedty field, and Usinsk refinery appear real...the numerous other claims are what need to play out (despite the DOA repeatedly assigned).
Al
I admire your confidence. My plan is to sell next year to take a tax loss then. As for buying and selling, I presume you will have to call your broker. I'm not sure but my sense is that the bid/ask now is 0.015/0.019. I believe that any price movement is due to technicals rather than any real event.
the shares we bought before the suspension is still good when they are reinstated, also where can i go to buy more shares thanks
To each their own. I don't think this has played out as of today.
I have been following a stock which was suspended in September 2012
I have been following a stock which was suspended in September 2012 and resumed trading in the Gray Market in October 2012. The stock has been trading to this date with respectable volume. The price has wavered upward and downward but nowhere near its previous price. FV could keep on trading without ever going much further up.
To each their own. I don't think this has played out as of today. It certainly was not sold to the 00s on the volume expected by the new sherriffs on this thread. The SEC told this investor the delisteing would be listed IF the company satisfied the SEC.
Alot was made of the use of "monstrous" by FVSTA on the Lekker #15 (pretty specific) in the adjacent Lukoil field. What is monstrous to FVSTA, is not to a company the size of Lukoil. A Lukoil employee then verified the potential viability of the ADJACENT Chedestykoye field, which was in fact, appraised by Miller & Lents from Texas in 2007. FVSTA announced revs signed, acquisition proposal negotiated, and funds acquired to finance the purchase of a refinery (Usinsk) toward becoming a vertically integrated Russian Oil Co.
I am not defending FVSTA, simply implying alot of effort was expended resulting in the sale of relatively few shares, while none, myself included likely knows the real story which is being played out in Russia...place yer bets...
Al
I was able to sell my shares today with a
set limit @.0150. Thank you President Putin for
buying my shares /Only Buy AMERICAN OIL companies This company is a joke.
It's gonna pop before the end of February. We're gonna see $0.15 to $0.25 soon people.
If this drops low enough again I'll buy back in just to see what happens. But I wouldnt dare do it now. I was lucky enough to sell mine the other day.
Could it be? Reinstatement not a fairy tale? It is darkest before the dawn. Price graph gets better all the time. Believe the dream. Happy Holidays to all.
Did anyone hear recently about how Russia wants to work on having better trade and business practices with the US? Not that it'll do a damn thing for FVSTA but, if it's true it can't hurt! Keep looking up everyone who's still holding, I am.GLTE

Good luck in declaring "victory" by rooting for shares to sell at .001
There's no rooting for anything. And why is 001 magical? It could just as easily die at 005, or 0001.
Good luck in declaring "victory" by rooting for shares to sell at .001 The values that shares trade at has been increasing, despite the illiquidity caused by the SEC "protecting" us. The reason is the assets still have value, and the company is addressing the issues....let it play out rather than reassuring certain doom.
Al
FV is showing signs of life. This goes beyond a technical bounce.
GL in trying to plug a previously suspended grey into technicals. It's all probabilities of random collisions in the dark. If you have an Ask in at 02 with your broker, and some other broker has a Bid of 02, the Ask and Bid have to find each other in the dark. If in the meantime your broker and others have a ton of Asks-Bids somewhere in the 01n range, then a match is more likely to occur there. As you might have already noticed in a given session the PPS can trade in a random direction. Random hits in the dark.
FV is showing signs of life. This goes beyond a technical bounce. Still may not mean news.
How do you figure that will happen?
0.15 before february on grey market. get ready.
I also bought this @ .02, wishing I would have sold @ .07...
I did a limit order .0188
looks like he got a penny
May I ask what you got per share?
The assets seem to be viable.
Then there's nothing to prevent a cash transaction from going ahead immediately after suspension, even during suspension. The SEC can not stop a business transaction.
Assume the assets are "viable". One had a flood of PRs starting on 29-Oct till the suspension, about acquisition offers. Even the laughable PR where the company was giving the un-named suitor 48 hrs to offer up. So what has changed about those "viable" assets? Nothing. So why not more PRs about more offers? Why hasn't the "viable" asset been sold? What has changed is the suspension makes it extremely difficult for insiders to dump and profit. The SEC will in the end make them disgorge any profits. Insiders can't sell for profit they can keep. It's wasted effort for them to pump.
And I agree! I'm not going anywhere yet. If they prove anything and make real progress I'm back in. I have a feeling we all have plenty of time to keep a close eye on it.
The assets seem to be viable. There was alot of info in the prs that is not verified...but if even 50% is verified, then this is worth following. Despite the insistence that virtually no pinkies come back from the dreaded SEC suspension, FVSTA claims it is "in progress".
Al
Finally sold! At least I made some of my money back. I'm still going to keep an eye out on this one though. If things go well I may have to jump back in. And thats a big IF... :)
millionaire, How is that possible? I have a limit order set at .074
Obviously it isn't working in the case of FVSTA.

The SEC sent a message to the market that they have detected fraud in FVSTA. They can warn off potential new buyers, but if someone still wants to buy-trade the stock, or add to the stock, then that's their choice. The other side of a SEC suspension is for a company whose main source of revenue is stock sales, and convertible notes, it places the company in a bind. How to P&D after being suspended?
FVSTA is no different, it's main source of revenue has come from stock, and convertible notes. Their PRs claimed their oil field was producing oil. Yet try to find any discussion in the OTC filings of oil produced for a quarter, and revenue/net profit realized. Sort of unusual for an oil producing company is leave out revenue from oil production. Not unusual for a company whose primary source of revenue is selling stock to the market. It will have an effect on the company.
wow. i got a limit order to sell at $0.25 pps. :)
I missed it, what did it peak too?
MACD rules.Still could be a technical bounce with no meaning in reality.
The last time it was at this price I could only get .05 so I just kept it.
There's really no way to know. Both buy and sell prices can be all over the place in the Grey Market.
Obviously it isn't working in the case of FVSTA.
They protect future investors by trying to make sure there won't be any.
Tell me how they protect future investors in the stock when they have destroyed it without due process. Everyone but the investor makes money and walks away to do it again and again The crooks scamming the stock get away scot free, the pundits who recommended the stock apologize to the investors who invested in the stock still got paid and keep the money. The OTCBB (who it seems will list anyone who can pay the reg.) is held blameless, accountants who gave the company a clean bill of health blameless , the wire services who print articles without DD blameless. When the game is fixed and the system does nothing to protect the customers till after the fact then sooner or later the system will collapse....
I just placed a limit order to sell this bad boy! No telling when this will happen again... :)
However, FVSTA did post it was working to satisfy the SEC, does own Chedtyiskoye field (which does exist and was appraised by Miller & Lents in 2007), and has funds borrowed toward acquiring the Usinsk refinery. There were numerous other undocumented items, but since the company is based in Russia, diffcult to pin down.
Al
It certainly isn't perfect. But the purpose of suspensions is to warn people that the company is suspect, for one reason or another. The action is designed chiefly to send a message to potential future investors.
And the SEC did make it clear that it had very serious concerns about Far Vista's press releases.
First the SEC suspends the company (without warning) than while you investigate you freeze trading in the company for ten days and after ten days let the company trade (grey Market)effectively letting the perf's scam more people with phony press releases. At the end of this process which sounds like long the biggest hurt will occur to the people who believed the press releases and the paid pundits who pumped the stock. OMG what a system, Its sounds to silly to be true.
The SEC can't control that. They can only react to it. If they can prove what the company's said is untrue, and therefore fraud, then they can bring an enforcement action.
But building a case takes time, so if that's their intention, nothing will be heard about it for quite awhile.
Sometimes, when they can't get hold of the perps--Russians banking in Cyprus can be pretty elusive--they just let it go. But the companies don't recover, because they're trapped on the Greys.
My observation was wrong due to ignorance not intention. I find it hard to believe that the SEC lets accused companies of fraud publish any documents to the public until the company is cleared of wrongdoing.
