MAP OF BARNET SHALE
The Barnett Shale gas field is estimated to cover 5,000 square miles in at least 17 counties - the largest producing natural gas field in the State of Texas. The Barnett Shale may be the largest onshore natural gas field in the United States with an estimated 30 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. Since October 2001, Mr. Ledesma, has drilled or participated in over 90 successful Barnett Shale wells with a total capital budget in excess of $56 million. To date, these wells have recovered 10.6 BCF of gas and 39,250 barrels of oil, which generates net revenue in excess of $58 million with future revenues estimated in excess of $65 million.
Exterra now holds an undivided interest in approximately 17,500 gross acres of Barnett Shale leases with over seventy wells producing on the acreage. On the 17,500 acres, there are also interests in wells being drilled, interests in wells being completed and hard assets such as surface lands and an ownership interest in an intrastate natural gas pipeline, as well as a commercial salt water disposal well. It also owns and operates producing properties in Pecos and McMullen Counties, Texas.
