WOW !!!!
Will this great divy paying machine hit $16 SP today?
Not only receiving great divys but the SP has increased nearly 2% YTD !!!
Thanks MORL !!!! $$$$$
Thx Pete for the LADR tip but looking at it I'm a little leery for now. Checking their divy history they have only been paying for the past year. I like to see a little more history than that, but hey, that's just me.
I do like MORL and will be adding more as I can.
I'm also adding to my PSEC now and then but I recently sold some to buy into PER as PER is soon going to be pay 12 cents for their quarterly divy. That 12 cents beats the 8.33 for PSEC so for now I'll load into PER and sell after the divy is locked in and re-buy into PSEC.
....anyway GLTY and yes please keep referring any good divy tickers you can, many thanks...
I will be adding to my 1000 shares here...
As a energy MLP guy who seeks a little diversity in the REIT world I like the yield here, and timing of their dividends. The every third month larger one comes the month before the MLP quarterly so it helps the cash account ahead the larger infusion I get 30 days average later. Aug, Nov, Feb May...
If you like yield and stability look at LADR. They have great assets in commercial RE. They will report in two days and their annual big payout is paid near year end. I got the ticker from jugs and gave him MORL from my DD.
jugs is another geezer I trade ideas with and along with catdaddyrt we have been successfully sharing energy ideas, jugs was an IRP for energy company in his career and cat still controls logistics and dispatches for a large equipment firm. Good Luck!
Nice... I see my $0.62/per share divy was recently placed into my account for my 3k shares..... SWEET!!!!!
Gotta luv this ticker for those monthly divys....
MORL !!! $$$$
Is it going to stabilize or bounce ?
The problem is MORL's assets are crashing, plus MORL is 2 times leveraged... a terrible combination.
Most mREITs themselves are highly leveraged.
Can someone tell me why this is crashing. Is it market sentiment as a whole ?
I've never owned AGNC or any mREITs and certainly not a 2X leveraged ETF of them. I bash mREITs. LOL! I think its hilarious that most MORL buyers have no idea how it works. Lots of puzzled bagholders here.
Call me crazy but suffering $2 of capital loss to get $1 in dividends isn't they way I invest.
Not buying yet. I should have borrowed when I posted. Could have had a nice payday. Still watching this as a divy play? Are you still in on @gnc?
Rate hike, on the 16th. With the ex date, coming. Should be a good time to enter after Christmas. Buy the dips after the holiday! No need to rush unless you need out, last week should have been the time to exit. This is definitely a long term hold. I like what I see here.
Peace!!
It seems to have really dropped in the last couple days. Anything obvious I'm missing ?
No, it goes Ex on the ninth I believe, check the UBS website
Johnny. Did this go ex yesterday.
What happened today.
I think any rate hike has been priced in, but don't take my word for it. Definitely do your own research ; I recommend reading Professor Lance Brofman's articles on MORL on Seeking Alpha.
Thanks Johnny, you seem to have been here for quite some time. Looking at the history of morl seems a steady decline in the pps as the divy tends to fluctuate. Im considering buying here. Most likely I will slip silently into a nice position as the word on the street says the fed might give a quarter point bump in December. Do you anticipate a large dip in the pps or do you possibly believe it's already built in at this point? Thanks if you have any incite to offer.
Peace!!
I think you just missed it, Nov 9
When is the next ex date? might have to park some money here?
Any opinions anyone ?
If fed raises it will be slow steady if get raise. Not sure why this is so hammered
Wow I'm glad I got out right after their dividend. This thing is too risky to hold good amounts of money in.
Same, I'm holding at an average around there. Holding off on putting more money into it until rate hike is mentioned. It might be depending on how the August's employment numbers look.
I don't have a lot invested in here, but it should still consolidate upwards towards ~.20 in a few months. In the meantime might as well collect dividends...
Are you holding. I'm averaged at high 16s so trying to get a few months divi in.
I doubt it =/. I'd deleverage until there's more information put out about it actually happening.
We going to be ok here with rate hike ?
July's dividend was still strong. Bummer about the market dip, but excellent entry point for the long term.
AGNC Cut their dividend, unfortunately does have negative ramifications for us.
Good to see you here sir!
Hey there Johnny nice to see you here. Whenever I take my profits from vois this is where I put them. Turn temporary gains into long term income and growth. A win Win WIN!!
Yes- like CEFL. the quarterly payments are larger than monthly- but some funds switch their payout schedules and some underlying funds are rebalanced annually.
Just not sure what will (how extreme) MORL's NAV will vary when rates go up later in year- if ever?
Also looking at GGN and GNT- which tract the POG and have monthly payments.
MORL pays monthly; as most of the components of MORL pay their dividends quarterly, we see large payouts in January, April, July and October.
I'm not sure about the Fed rate increase, it starting to sound like there might not be a fed rate increase until 2016.
1/22/15 $0.9490 - seems to pay quarterly?
Since it's an ETN, like bonds, price goes down as interest rates go up.
When will Fed increase rates in light of recent dollar strength?
Varies widely. For the last 4 months between 0.25% to over 4% monthly. Payable in the 3rd week of each month. Last 4 months dividends add up to about 8.5% total,
How much is the dividend, and is it monthly, or quarterly?
Went ex-div today with div. of $.9916 payable 10/21/14. I'll keep taking this 20+% return till fed rates start to increase.
mine did as well
My div showed up this morning, dated 9/23 @ $20.93 reinvested.
Hopefully it does come by then, if not...
No, but I expect it at the close today or the start tomorrow.
I use Ameritrade, any ideas what happened?
Looks like every one. I didn't get it from ING.
Has anybody not gotten their div payment for September 2014? I haven't received mine yet even though the stated payment date was yesterday, just wondering if its a 'just me' issue or an 'everybody' issue.
Already invested in RAS, and have been in NRF before. Trying to decide whether or not to dump RAS and just invest into this or not?? Wondering if it's just better to stay in the individual companies, then touch this?
It's a exchange traded note, my understanding is no equity implied
At least half of MORL would be the equity ownership in REIT's and maybe half or so the note. That is only my best guest at this point:)
Since it's a note, like bonds, price goes down as interest rates go up. It is not equity.
From what I read is that MORL owns a portfolio of different REIT's. From this they use some kind of leverage (this part I do not understand but could be what you have found) to make it a X 2 investment.
I really like this because the REIT's has a bad 2013 and have come down in price just like MORL. So thinking this is a bottom the up would be X 2 from here.
Can be a bit risky but love the dividend potential with the possibility of the price also increasing at the same time.
Thanks.
