HIPPA and EPLJ nice combo. Email security is going to become one of the hottest concepts of 2006 if it is not already.
I like the opportunities with HIPAA:
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) established national standards for electronic health care transactions. These standards affect healthcare providers and payers, government agencies, and other self-insured companies. BizTalk Accelerator for HIPAA enables your organization to achieve compliance with HIPAA standards quickly and maintain compliance in the face of change—freeing your organization to concentrate on its core business. Download the datasheet for BizTalk Accelerator for HIPAA to learn more.

HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Huge potential here: What was the total dollar cost, measured in loss of economic productivity, of Americans deleting spam last year?
The correct answer is:
$21.6B
Spam is an unfortunate fact of life for e-mail users today. According to the "2004 National Technology Readiness Survey,” conducted by Rockbridge Associates, Inc. and the Center for Excellence in Service at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, which tracks “key behaviors related to the internet and e-commerce,” 78% of online adults receive unsolicited e-mail on a daily basis and 36% of online adults receive at least ten individual pieces of spam each day.
On average, each person also spends just under three minutes each day deleting these e-mails. Based on census figures which estimate 169 million online adults in America, the collective time spent by Americans deleting spam is substantial: annually, this activity accounts for 1.2 billion hours of lost productivity. Multiplied by the average hourly wage, that figure can be quantified as 21.6 billion dollars worth of time wasted. According to the study, this dollar figure only conservatively measures the negative economic impact of spam “because it does not count the wasted resources used to transmit spam, the cost to ISPs to manage and protect customers from spam, and the money spent by consumers on spam blocking software.”
If nothing else, the nearly billion dollars in estimated loss of productivity clearly demonstrates the potential economic benefit of public and private-sector efforts to curb the tide of excessive junk e-mail. Yet spam is not likely to go away any time soon: The study found that 14% of adults will “open their spam to see what it says, as opposed to simply checking to see if it is something they should delete” and during the last year 4% (around 5 million people) actually purchased the product or service advertised within. Since sending spam to large amounts of people is cheap (there are no stamps or other per-message fees for e-mails so the unit cost is very low) that’s enough to make it a profitable enterprise.

ESPION International, Inc. Assists Local University in Aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita
Thursday December 8, 8:51 am ET
BATON ROUGE, LA--(MARKET WIRE)--Dec 8, 2005 -- Email Gateway Security maker ESPION International, Inc. (Other OTC:EPLJ.PK - News) announced that it recently signed Southern University of Louisiana as one of their newest clients. In conjunction with their commitment to assisting companies and state agencies in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, ESPION has provided special terms to existing pricing and payment options to assist the University during the recent state-mandated budget freeze. Since Hurricanes Katrina and Rita struck Southern Louisiana in late August and early September 2005, ESPION has been working with state and government officials to provide hardware and security solutions at reduced prices and in many instances deferred payments until next year.
"ESPION is committed to assisting in the rebuilding process of Southern Louisiana. We continue to work with State agencies and Universities in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and will provide these solutions and services with reduced or special pricing until the area has time to rebuild," says Ron Kaufman, ESPION's Chief Operating Officer.
"Our previous solution was doing a poor job of stopping spam," says Carl Grant, Manager of Enterprise Support Services at Southern University. "We really liked what we saw in the Interceptor, but after Hurricane Katrina, our budget received added pressure. The folks at ESPION worked closely with us to accommodate our new budget constraints. Moreover," says Grant, "the time we were previously spending trying to combat spam, we now are able to spend on more important tasks."
ESPION will be providing their signature Artificial Intelligence-based Anti-Spam gateway solution to the University, which will protect critical data and systems from being subject to malicious email attacks, Directory Harvest Attacks (DHA), viruses, phishing attempts and spyware intrusion. The solution is currently in use in every vertical market and has been tested and ranked as one of the most accurate and trusted solutions available.
ESPION has also provided company hardware and support services to many other affected agencies in Louisiana since Hurricane Katrina including the West Baton Rouge location of Homeland Security and Emergency Operations office, City of Baton Rouge and the City of Monroe to name a few.
ESPION International, Inc. a Costa Mesa, CA.-based company, is the foremost in development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence-based solutions for email gateway and network security. The current ESPION product range offers appliances for email gateway security, anti-spam and secure email.
