Thanks Nemo. I've been following this for a while too and used to live in the catskills area. What I was trying to say was that every $1 increase post reverse split, is equivalent to $3 pre-split. So, since teh stock traded at $10 pre-reverse split, then the equivalent would be $30 now.
Fibanotch....there is tons on info and articles out there to bring you up to speed. Basically, NYS rerquires 2 separately elected house to pass a bill for a constitutional amendment before the amendment (table games) can got to a public refrendum. There is no way to be certian when or if the secodn vote will take place or whether it will pass. But many indicators point to a vote on second passage early 2013 after elections this november. If all goes well then public referendum would be November 2013.
This is a risky stock! Make no mistrake about that. No reason to pump this at all, but of course, the higher the risk, the bigger the reward.

This was never $30 per split. Never has been and never will. It has never been at that price pre 2000.
I trade this and flip this because I understand the behavior patterns like I do the same with LVS.
The 2nd passage is key here! Thanks to Genting, no debt, it's a sit and wait.!

You aguys are missing the point here! You dont buy it after the law changes...you buy it way ahead of the law change!
If you are wondering whether or not to buy, you have to do your dd and decide how likely it is that NYS will push second passage of the bill after elections in November. If that happens the stock will be ALOT higher than it is now. Look at the chart from last year leading up to 1st passage....$1.50 to $3.00 very quickly in advance of the vote. What do you think 2nd passage is worth? These are the relevant questions. There are also wild cards that could move the stock like environmental approvals for concord casino, financing, mster developemnt agreement etc...
All I know is it cant go lower than liquidation value (which is close) given they have zero debt now...and sky is the limit if the publci gets to vote on it next november. Stock was $30 pre-split when they had $65 million in debt and no casino bill on the table....

Well in this tuff economy I know it wouldn't work. Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun are struggling. It doesn't help that they are swimming in some 800 million in debt!
Now I'm thinking the market crash did Cappelli a favor, why? Because he was going all in and knowing him that's big. Now he's had to give up the property and get back to other projects that he has completed 2 since the 08 crash.
NYNY is sadly nothing more than a Genting hold and wait. They have 2 possible locations to build but awaiting a law change and class 3 approval. They were the backers of both Fox wards and the Mohegan sun.
This company and stick is going know where until the law changes and class 3 us awarded. Fact!!
Is Monticello really worth a big casino ?? Question for all...can they make it like saratoga casino...its to expensive takes long time to get the money back...No one is investing, its a poor ...low quality ..deal !

EPT/Empire Resorts planning moves forward, EPT’s president says
KIAMESHA LAKE – The president of Entertainment Properties Trust (EPR) Tuesday said plans are moving ahead slowly for development of their 1,500 acres in Kiamesha Lake at the site of the former Concord Resort.
The project will partner EPR with Empire Resorts, owners of Monticello Casino and Raceway in nearby Monticello, said EPR President David Brain.
“EPR did publically introduce its new master plan for the site along with plans from Empire Resorts for horse racetrack, casino and hospitality complex to be located there,” Brian said. “These plans were formally submitted and accepted into the process of approvals and entitlements necessary for construction.”
Empire Resorts would maintain its current Monticello facilities for horse training and other functions.
Whtat's coming down the line?? I can't find nothing really from the Gov site.

New York to fast track the constitutional law making class three gaming legal in New York. The Indian Tribes with all their shenanigans will no longer be a Class Three Casino monopoly in New York anymore.This is great news and Gov.Cuomo is getting it done.

Empire operates the Monticello Raceway and is involved in the development of other legal gaming venues. Empire opened Mighty M Gaming at the Raceway site on June 30, 2004. This facility features over 1,500 video gaming machines (VGMs) and amenities such as a 350-seat buffet and live entertainment. Empire is also working to develop a "Class III" Native American casino for the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe on a site adjacent to the Raceway and other gaming and non-gaming resort projects in the Catskills region and other areas. Empire is pursuing the development of a Native American casino resort in the Catskills. The company is working with both the St. Regis Mohawks and the Cayuga Nation, along with the State of New York , in this exciting endeavor. Once approved by the appropriate authorities, Empire will construct and manage one or more Class III Native American casinos. The first resort, with the St. Regis Mohawks, is expected to be developed on approximately 30 acres of land adjacent to the Monticello Raceway, to be held by the United States Government “in trust,” subject to obtaining necessary federal and state approvals.
