Molycorp additional capital requirements are killing this stock today. Thoughts on how low it may go?
Elissa figures prominently in my open letter to Molycorp regarding a possible takeover:
http://heavyreenews.blogspot.com/2013/01/open-letter-to-chairman-bhappu-interim.html
Has anyone heard any one event or rumor that caused this stock to blastoff last week and then to collapse almost overnight? This was bigger than the 2nd week of 9/12 even per the chart.
Also an unrelated question- is this stock, actually the U.S. version ELSRF, subject to the big DTC settlement fees that some onlike broker sites mention in their weasel clause sections? I tried the chat feature on a couple of online brokers, one didn't know what I was talking about and the other said they went to new settlement house so no fees- that he had heard of- the website still mentioned fees however.
I guess my bottomline would be a place where I could open up small, say $250 to start, that allowed penny trades, and where I could trade the following stocks with no huge fees: UURAF,NMREF,AVL,ELSRF,GBE(mines in Mozambique, etc).
Any recommendations to this "babe in the rare earth woods" would be greatly appreciated.

Any predictions whether this stock tanks or keeps going up tomorrow?
Inquiring minds want to know
Huge volume, greater than mid-September and a meteoric 2 day gain which I missed out on
Somebody knows something, one blogpost won't do this no matter how prescient or influential. For some reason, and I don't think it's any one news item, this stock has really perked up.
Could speculation regarding a takeover of Molycorp be running this up, as that Goldreport blog suggests? I did notice that the blog has had over a 100 k readership since it began in 2012.
What's up with Elissa ELI/ELSRF anyway?
Trade halt, apparently not at company request . . . looks like exchange has asked for info on recent activity

A few days of sizable share price gains, huge this morning, with volume around 150x daily average

Almost made it into the Lopez fault mining claim at least near the edge, unfortunately the roads were too rough to take my passenger car into the property. In addition, I visited a solar project site near Baker and stopped at Mountain Pass and took several photos of that project. I plan on posting about how those two projects tie in together soon on my blog.
I hope it is okay to post the link here:

The photos and trip description for the Elissa part of the trip report are about 3/4 of the way down.
I definitely will be buying this stock and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good brokerage firm that handles penny stocks here in the states.
Blogger and soon-to-be-owner of Elissa stock heading up to the area on Tuesday 12/4/2012.
My name is Bill McDonald, a new member, and a longtime blogger on the net. Some of you may have read my most popular all time post which included the Molycorp Mountain Pass property which can be read if you pm me for the link. Or just search "Molycorp"+BrightSource. Relax, there are no ads on my site, this is not a spam attempt.
Folks, I don't want to blow any smoke here, I will oppose this mine in my blog, due to its' proximity to the Mojave National Preserve and the Ivanpah Valley. Having said that, I am not a registered broker nor do I give investment advice on my blog- I have retirement coming up in 4 years, and looking at the overall situation, and especially considering our military's overwhelming need for these rare earths, I believe the project will most likely go ahead, for national security reasons at least; regardless of what some might think otherwise.
So I am jumping in with an eye to jump out later.
I have researched this a little bit and am unable to find a map with the scale required so that I can try to visit the exact location, or to get as close as I can with my passenger car- I can hike in the rest of the way.
If any of you have this information, can you get it to me by 6 or 7 am tomorrow Pacific time? I will post the results of my little field trip here along with photos and on my blog- I will first put it up here, then at the blog.
Whether you approve of my motivations or not, I will be providing a service here to this community free if I can get that information, on either the Lopez or the other play. I have a general idea of the location, but need to get the exact road names, etc.
Thank you,
Bill McDonald
What is the mover? any ideas . . . no news out, but right now up 67% US ticker on light volume and up 83% Toronto and unusually high volume.

Elissa President Paul McKenzie on Nevada REE drilling commencement
Elissa Resources Ltd TSXV:ELI announced that it has begun Phase 1 drilling on the Lopez trend of its Thor heavy and light rare earth element project in southern Nevada. A minimum of 1,500 metres will be drilled, and the company anticipates the program to be completed within 1Q 2012. The project is located approximately 28 kilometres east of Molycorp Minerals’ Mountain Pass REE mine.
President/CEO Paul McKenzie tells ResourceClips.com, “We’ve had this project for over a year, and we picked it up on nothing more than a theory. It was intriguing to us because of its proximity to Molycorp’s flagship Mountain Pass deposit. That it was in the state of Nevada made it all the more intriguing. But when we got on the ground after acquiring it, it very quickly became a compelling property, and with every visit it became more and more so.

Elissa Resources Commences Drilling at Thor Rare Earth Project, Nevada January 15, 2012
Resources (“Elissa” or the “Company”) (TSX VENTURE:ELI)(OTCQX:ELSRF)(PINKSHEETS:ELSRF) reports that drilling has commenced at its 100%- owned Thor heavy and light rare earth element (REE) project in Nevada. Multiple diamond core drill holes will initially target the Lopez Trend, a 1.6-mile (2.6-km) long REE-bearing monazite structure that is coincident with a prominent magnetic anomaly.
“The commencement of drilling at Thor is a significant milestone for the Company and the Lopez Trend is the largest zone defined at Thor to date,” said Paul McKenzie, President and CEO of Elissa Resources. “Thor has strong surface representations of nine heavy and five light rare earth elements, which correspond with strong magnetic anomalies defined by both airborne and ground geophysics.”
The Thor Project is represented at surface in nine heavy rare earth elements and five light rare earth elements including dysprosium, neodymium, yttrium and terbium in addition to lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, samarium, gadolinium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, and lutetium grading from anomalous to 10.6% (12.75% rare earth oxide). These strong surface representations of both heavy and light rare earths correspond with prominent magnetic anomalies defined by both a district-scale airborne magnetic geophysical survey and a detailed follow-up ground magnetic geophysical survey.
Thor has REE discoveries in at least nine widely separate prospect localities within three distinct and sizeable discovery zones. The property is located in southern Nevada, approximately 47 miles (76 km) south of Las Vegas and is 16 miles (28 km) east of Molycorp Minerals’ (NYSE: MCP) Mountain Pass REE mine and processing facilities in the neighbouring state of California. A minimum of 5,000 ft (1,500 m) will be drilled in this first phase drill program. The Company anticipates completion of the planned drilling program in Q1-2012.

Elissa Resources (TSX:ELI) is now up 23% on an otherwise down day in the market - good sign.

Elissa Resources(ELI:TSXV), is the closest rare earth explorer to Molycorp's Mountain Pass Mine (the largest and richest deposit of REE's in the world). Molycorp is a $3 billion market-cap company, and is likely on the lookout for potential acquisitions.
Molycorp's Mountain Pass Mine is the ONLY rare earth mine in North America. Molycorp's mine has been on the fast-track to production ever since the world realised China was in control of over 95% of all rare earth production.
Molycorp has become the biggest rare earth play this side of the Pacific and its market-cap currently sits around $3 billion - giving the company plenty of acquisition capital, whether it be via stock or cash.

Pinnacle Digest just did a write-up and recommendation for this company. Ellissa Resources sounds interesting as a buy-out, but I have not checked into this too much as of yet. I will try to dig a little deeper and see what I can find out.

This one just crossed my radar as well about the same time that Wealth Daily
article came out which coincided with a 50% run up a couple of days ago.
Checked iHub and no one had started a board yet. Glad someone did. Thanks.
I did some digging. There is a NI 43-101 technical report on www.sedar.com
I can't link to it due to having to enter passphrase.
But if you search on the company name its pretty easy to find.
Looks like they are doing the geology work and it looks promising.
Geomagnetic surveys have been done and rock chip sampling.
I think the next step is drilling.
Here's a nice excerpt:
Recent mapping and sampling by Elissa indicates that the principal REE mineralization in the Thor
Project area occurs as structurally-controlled, monazite-apatite-xenotime vein systems. Similar REE
vein deposits of economic importance occur at various places in the world. They are typically not
very large but they can be very rich, and they often contain significant amounts of the especially
valuable heavy REE (HREE). Examples include the Steenkampskraal deposit in South Africa,
probably the highest-grade REE deposit in the world (17% REE-oxide), consisting of a narrow vein
that extends only 400 meters or so along strike, and the Hoidas Lake deposit in Saskatchewan,
averaging about 2.05% REE in narrow veins over a strike length of 475 meters.
I figure this one is worth a little "Vegas Money" at this point due
to it's location to MCP and the heavy RE potential.
And this Spin off of Red Hill Energy must be important. John Lee and Prophecy combined efforts with Red Hill to develop Mongolian coal. This wasn't absorbed in the deal...but spun out. Must be value here. This link is amazing though. Near Molycorp and HREE's. Fantastic location, with the other HREE stock is a small Ucore deposit in Bokan valley. Free shares, with great promise. Thanks John.
Right down the street from Molycorp, with Heavy Ree's very interesting!
Elissa Resources Plans Additional Geophysical Survey at its Thor Rare Earth Project, Nevada
Press Release Source: Elissa Resources Ltd. On Wednesday March 30, 2011, 8:00 am EDT
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - 03/30/11) - Elissa Resources ("Elissa" or the "Company") (TSX-V:ELI - News) Following successful results from a district-scale detailed high-resolution airborne magnetic geophysical survey completed in November, 2010, Elissa Resources ("Elissa") announced today it is planning to conduct a ground geophysical (magnetic) survey on specific sections of its 100% owned Thor Rare Earth Elements (REE) Project, in southern Nevada. The project lies 26 km (16 miles) east of the Mountain Pass REE mine and processing plant, which are currently being re-opened by Molycorp Minerals. At Thor, multiple samples collected during extensive exploration programs in 2010 returned Rare Earth Element analyses ranging from anomalous to 10.6% REE. Mapping and mineralogy studies indicate that the REE mineralization at Thor occurs in large discrete shear zones as phosphate minerals containing significant amounts of very scarce and valuable Heavy Rare Earth Elements (HREE). This stands in contrast to the neighbouring Mountain Pass Mine, where the REE occur within a large igneous carbonate body as carbonate minerals containing substantial amounts of Light Rare Earth Elements (LREE) but a paucity of HREE.
Elissa has identified significant REE mineralization at Thor in nine widely separate prospect localities in three distinct discovery zones referred to as the Lopez Trend, the Black Butte area and the NED area. A fourth area of interest is the Santos Trend. Work carried out to date includes a high-resolution ultralight airborne magnetic survey, surface mapping, extensive ground radiometric surveys, satellite imagery studies, channel sampling of historical surface workings and other limited surface exposures, and detailed petrographic studies. The airborne magnetic survey was useful in helping delineate the Lopez Trend and the Black Butte area, but due to rugged terrain difficulties was not as effective in enhancing or defining the NED target area.
The Lopez Trend, a mostly covered, 2.4-km long structural zone from 50 to 150 m wide, is a compelling drill-ready target area. The zone is intermittently marked by anomalous radioactivity and/or REE-bearing samples along its length. Elissa's 2010 exploration programs suggest that the Lopez Trend may be continuous through the covered areas. Later this year, Elissa plans to complete a shallow drill program to test the Lopez Trend. There are indications that the sub-parallel Santos Trend, lying in a covered alluvial valley to the west, may represent a second similar, shallowly buried mineralized zone.
To date, Elissa has collected 127 total rock samples from the Thor Project, mostly continuous channel samples taken across widths of one to several metres from limited rock exposures throughout the project area. More than half of these samples (70 total) returned assays showing anomalous (greater than 0.1%) to very significant (greater than 0.5%) amounts of REE, representing various targets within each of the project's separate discovery zones. Of these samples, 22 returned assays of 1.3% to 10.6% (average 2.6%) total REE, with the more valuable HREE comprising a significant fraction (3 to more than 9 percent, average 5.3 percent) of the total REE contained in the samples.
The proposed detailed ground magnetic survey will focus primarily on the NED target area, 1.6 km east of the northern end of the Lopez Trend. Samples taken in the NED area in 2010 were limited to a single outcrop comprised of biotite-rich, dark-coloured igneous rock that averaged 1.50% total REE. Petrographic studies indicate the unusual rock type is magmatic in origin and that the REE-bearing minerals occur as disseminated inclusions in the biotite. Indications are that the outcrop may be the surface expression of a much larger concealed igneous body. The magnetic survey will help define the perimeters of this REE-bearing body. The REE mineralization, like that in the Lopez Trend and Black Butte area, is enriched in the more valuable HREE.
During the third quarter of 2010, the Thor project was separately visited by two independent, respected REE specialists, Dr. James Clark, a geological consultant with extensive background and expertise in REE deposits, and Dr. David Jessey, a Professor at California Polytechnic, who is very familiar with the geology and REE mineralization of the Mojave Desert Region. The conclusions are that the apparent size and tenor of the Lopez Trend discovery zone may be generally similar to other REE vein systems that comprise currently attractive, viable exploration targets.
Elissa Resources also wishes to report that as of March 28, 2011 its shares commenced trading on the TSXV under the trading symbol ELI. Elissa Resources was formed out of the successful 2010 Prophecy Resource Corp. / Red Hill Energy merger whereby shareholders of Red Hill Energy received shares of Elissa Resources on a 1 for 4 basis. (Please see Prophecy Resource Corp. / Red Hill Energy April 7, 2010 news)
A more in-depth analysis of the prior exploration programs at Thor including specific details of both HREE & LREE assay results can be viewed in a recently completed NI 43-101 Technical Report available on www.sedar.com, and in Elissa's November 16, 2010 news release available at www.elissaresources.com.
The technical information outlined in this news release, has been reviewed and approved by Mel Klohn, PGeo, a Director of Elissa Resources Ltd. and a Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101.
ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS of Elissa Resources Ltd.
