Donald Trump is a liar. it’s what he does. every time Donny opens his mouth, out comes a stupid lie.
he’s lied about bone spurs. he’s lied about his sexual prowess. he’s lied about his golf scores. the Washington Post kept a running tally of the lies Trump told when he was president. the final count was 30,573.
Trump lies all over the place. he’s lied from the Oval Office. he’s lied from his ugly gold-plated tower. he’s lied from his crappy vermin-infested golf motel.
but there’s one place where you absolutely cannot lie: on a financial disclosure form — and yesterday, Trump got his ass handed to him by a judge, for doing exactly that.
Donald Trump committed fraud by repeatedly misrepresenting his wealth by hundreds of millions of dollars, a New York judge has ruled.
The ruling, part of a civil case brought against the former president and his family business, said he defrauded banks and insurers for years.
oh, and it gets worse:
A New York State judge on Tuesday cancelled all of the business licenses for the Trump Organization and its 500 or so subsidiary companies and partnerships after finding that Trump used them to, along with his older two sons, commit fraud.
Under the New York General Business Law you can only do business in your own name as a sole proprietor or with a business license, which the state calls a “business certificate.”
All of Trump’s businesses were corporations or partnerships that require business certificates.
that’s right — Donald Trump just received the “corporate death penalty.”
it’s time for Donny to wave bye-bye to all his New York businesses.

The self-proclaimed multibillionaire may soon be personally bankrupt as a result, stripped of just about everything because for years he engaged in calculated bank fraud and insurance fraud by inflating the value of his properties, a judge ruled Tuesday.
His gaudy Trump Tower apartment, his golf courses, his Boeing 757 jet and even Mar-a-Lago could all be disposed of by a court-appointed monitor, leaving Trump with not much more than his pensions as a one term president and a television performer.

and — spoiler alert — that’s exactly what Trump and his larcenous children did.
In his ruling Tuesday, Engoron said Trump inflated the value of his own Trump Tower residence between $114 million and $207 million — including claiming the property was triple its actual size in square feet.
“A discrepancy of this order of magnitude, by a real estate developer sizing up his own living space of decades, can only be considered fraud,” Engoron said in his order.
Engoron also found that Trump inflated the value of his Mar-a-Lago club by at least 2,300%, claiming the property assessed by the county between $18 million and $27.6 million was actually worth between $426,529,614 and $612,110,496.
In total, Engoron wrote that the New York attorney general “submitted conclusive evidence” that the defendants overvalued their assets between $812 million and $2.2 billion.
In his 35-page order, the judge described the conduct of the defendants in the case as belonging in a “fantasy world,” and sharply criticized what he called the “bogus arguments” made by the defense.
and it wasn’t only the Trump family who got the shit smacked out of them yesterday. Trump’s lawyers also got sanctioned for being such obvious F’n liars.
Engoron also sanctioned Donald Trump's lawyers for peddling “bogus arguments,” ordering five attorneys to pay $7,500 each. Christopher Kise, Michael Madaio, Clifford S. Robert, Michael Farina and Armen Morian were each ordered to pay within 30 days.
can we just talk for a moment about how insane you have to be to agree to take Donald Trump on as a client? at best, you merely end up disgraced (and probably unpaid). at worse, you end up sanctioned or disbarred or a co-defendant — or all three.

Donald Trump has been found liable for sexual assault and defrauding banks. the Trump Organization is being forced to dissolve (don’t cry for Donny, he’s already started a new “Trump Org II” in Delaware). Trump has been hit with 91 criminal counts across 4 indictments. and there are still three months left in the year.
it’s a shame that it took 77 years for accountability to catch up to Donald Trump, but how super F’n great is it that it’s finally happening all at once?
