I'm a buyer here.
From Motley Fool:
In Dante's Italian classic The Inferno, the sign marking the entrance to Hell reads, "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." Unfortunately, this pretty aptly describes the outlook for investors hoping to make a buck from owning shipping stocks as well, as the Baltic Dry Index all too clearly reveals.
Watch this begin to rise soon.
Well, I'm gettin in Diana Big time... lets roll the dice =)
Speaking of a head and shoulders formation, looks like there's an inverse H&S formation developing on the daily chart in the iBox. If that's right, a target of 26ish is suggested.
Like as if we will never ship anything again.lol Hope your in.
I'm in DRYS at 3.88 This is as close to the bottom as you will ever get. Shipping sector is up all the way across the board.
None of the financial folks like the CEO of DRYS. Cause he tells them if they don't like the way he runs the company than sell or don't buy. hehehehehe
GLTU
6.85 52 weeks low and today 7.40. Fast money woman member likes Diana better than DRYS etc but painted a bleak picture for the sector due to commodity bust cycle and recession yesterday dec 2 2008..any reason why this relatively safer bet?

that's where I bought it yrs ago. Shudda sold. DUMBA**!!!!!
Good divvies tho
I am starting to buy here under 11
Record shipping rates and increasing divi's are the name of the game here. Head and shoulder breakout may take us to $40, especially if we can break that resistance in the mid $35's.
OK, we need to wake up DSX again. Nice 4% move today as DRYS was up 8% on good employment numbers. Charts above show some MOMO on this stock in the last 3 weeks and IMO I don't think it's going to stop anytime soon.
I'm glad I didn't buy that put after all. Earnings coming out today should help propel us another few dollars.
I sure wish I would have bought a put to cover myself. This is so discouraging seeing this fall the type of fundamentals of this company. Thinking of buying my put here, but I'm in such a bad position since I bought at 33.96. They've got me middled and I can't do nothing about it.
Thanks...
Too early to tell if the test was successful however...
Outstanding call Frenchee!!
OT: Thanks for your kind comments MACH1.
Thank you for your service to our great country and please pass my appreciation onto your wife as well.
Here's a board you might like...#board-8764
Well Frenchee here we are. We've touched both trend lines of the triangle and are just days away from a breakout. I just can't see how a company as fundamentally sound as Diana can crash below this upward trend. My guess is bullish, but I'm certainly not qualified to make such judgements. However, I'm hoping you see it the way I do.
By the way, It's cool to see a fellow fly boy on IHUB. My wife retires in a few months and I'm a vet myself. We don't want to work anymore, so investing the RIGHT way is paramount in our future. Thanks for your contribution to this board.
I'm thinking DSX will test 26.24 before a rebound with legs...
Hopefully we've found the bottom and get back to the top of this channel
Help Frenchee, what's going on with our beloved Diana? Have we seen the bottom? If it breaks thru this channel, I may be in deep water....
Tough day today Frenchee. WE got whipsawed after the Fed announcement. Hopefully this news gets back to those who sold today and we get this train running in the right direction.

Bullish calls:
Diana Shipping (DSX): 'Rates are starting to go up for his ships …Finally I am willing to say despite that CEO's negativity, that I think you can buy more DSX!'
I wanted to make sure the reversal was set, so I got back in at 33.96. I'm looking for DSX to test new highs in a couple weeks. Look at DRYS's reversal. From 72 to 96 in 4 days. I'm looking for DSX to mirror DRYS and hopefully find $50 in the near term.

Yea Frenchee, I like the reversal going on here. Love the ADX cross. This stock could double from here in a couple months. Charts look primed.
Very nice move today. Hope it has legs...
Well it's pretty obvious to me why the PPS fell. The whole water transportation industry took a major hit. Look at DRYS, went from 131 to 75 in the same time frame we dropped 10 bucks. Both companies announced dividends and boom, sell off. As you've seen the past couple of days have given us a bit of an up tick and I think it's a good time if you want to take advantage of the dividend paid out on November 29th. Charts are showing oversold and our company is one of the newest fleets in the industry and we have new ships coming in the near term. I would feel good about buying back in sooner rather than later. IMHO..

Did you get back in MACH1? If not, how will you tell when to pull the trigger?
amazing how much this stock plummetted when an investment firm upgrades it. I was out at 39.42 when I seen all indicators overbought. Looking for a bottom here to get back in.
Does anyone know how long Diana's payout ratio has been over 100%? TIA

DIANA SHIPPING DSX
Overall Recommendation Strong Buy
The shipping company announced it had taken delivery of a new dry-bulk vessel, which it will charter to miner BHP Billiton for four years.
Max pain value currently at 35. Should have some upward buying pressure on Friday...http://www.iqauto.com/cgi-bin/pain.pl
I bot at 13.51 , GO DSX!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful day today...18%+
DSX on a buy again...odds point to no worse than a consolidation at current levels.
mach
I also got in at 18. wish I'd put it all in this and left the pinkies alone. I'd be rich instead of having to go to work every monday. tough drop today. I bought a few more. can't beat the divy.
I'll be the first to say this stock has been wonderful to me. I've been in since 18.18 and this sector has been on fire for a month now. Go DSX!!!!
