Subsidiaries:
CVAS operates through three independently operated subsidiaries. The oldest of these is AC Technical Systems, in operation since 1991. It plans, engineers, integrates and installs video security systems for hospitals, correctional facilities, large campuses, large national retailers, property management companies, manufacturers and government agencies. AC Technical Systems’ highly advanced integrated security solutions are used by a blue-chip customer base, including the Air Canada Centre (home of the NBA Raptors and NHL Maple Leafs), the Canadian grocery giant Loblaws, BMW, Peoplesoft, Ontario government ministry buildings and the Toronto Dominion Centre, a 4.3 million square-feet office development that ranks as Canada’s largest. Iview Digital Video Solutions (Iview DVSI) is CVAS’ technology division, specializing in digital cameras and processing systems for use in retail, office, financial, law enforcement, military and other settings. Helping customers make the shift from analog to digital in their surveillance systems, it incorporates the most advanced technology with its new Iview-360 panoramic camera and processing systems. Its new 360-degree IVIEW360™ camera has the capabilities of four PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) dome cameras with the features of a digital video recorder. CVAS says this is the first camera in the world to offer a 360° field of view and complete situation awareness through a single camera and a single lens. The company has also introduced IVMS (Intelligent Video Management System), a network based digital video management system capable of managing and analyzing video streams from hundreds of cameras. The system is highly intelligent and uses H.264, a leading-edge video compression technology, to store and transmit video and data.
IView DVSI is in the forefront of the new trend toward “intelligent video” capable of high-level image analysis. For instance, this technology can spot suspicious objects (such as unattended packages) and individuals in video images. IView DVSI’s customers include Air Canada Centre, BMW, health care facilities, a major police department in Michigan and Canadian government ministries. Its broadband and networking expertise make it a key link in CVAS’ growth strategy. The Cancable/DependableIT home page is at http://www.dependableit.com/
