Cost cutting. ..The company is also transitioning to cost-saving light-emitting diode bulbs across much of its system, Cochran said.
In addition to those initiatives, Cochran said Cracker Barrel is working on a new so-called “fusion” prototype store, which will be among the six to seven new stores planned for fiscal 2015.
“The fusion model allows us to re-engineer processes, to reduce initial costs, create a more efficient design for our new stores and evolve the brand,” she said. Morganton, N.C., will be the first location for the fusion prototype, and the CEO said it is in the final stages of design
Can anyone tell me what is Fusion store? Thanks

Only fools were shorting pure value runup.... http://shortsqueeze.com/?symbol=cbrl&submit=Short+Quote%99
Where r all the shorts. :) Value investors have stepped in. Two year's I see $200.00.
Amazing analysts have it $150.... could go higher
And another buck on top of that dividend. ... SWEET
Woohooo CBRL....
$CBRL 144.11
its one thing to be short... its another thing to insult those who maybe long or against your position...
Congrats to you and best of luck!
Ah ha another sweet Q for CBRL for shorty..
All over this board. Talking heads. Guru's. Systematic exodus since around 120. Go figure.
I dont see where anyone was calling CBRL to go to $130,140,150 until it started breaking through the 120s.. so have no idea where you get that information or what supposed "guru' you speak of...
So your up $7.36 on your short in 2 months time...? Kudos to you.. unlike longs, or options, interest plays a role and eats profits... but sounds like you have that figured out.
Ive made plenty on CBRL in the past and will continue to look for opportunities, but it will certainaly be from the call side and not the put side.
Wish you the best of luck... busy trading so dont have time to spin the type of tales you are spinning ~
Those who love their stocks should have at them, even when they are in prolonged retreat, right? Then enjoy the present demise.
Some are more professional..... more in touch with reality. Economists have even labeled the scenario: Opportunity Cost.
While you are all cuddled up with CBRL and the share price is in prolonged decline, despite what guru's have told you, others are shorting CBRL or are actively putting that money elsewhere. I announced CBRL was going to fall at $141, and it has, and will likely continue.
While your money runs south through a snake path, my money continues to grow. Some here want to believe guru's so bad they will jeopardize gains to see it through. Who traditionally is the worst investor? The individual investor..... because he listens to the BS artists and fears making most decisions.
All the guru's had stated CBRL was going to 130, 140 and even 150. But strong mathematical evidence proves they were exiting the stock before any of those targets were reached. Those wanting to believe were holding the door open. That is the reality of it all.
If you want to kiss and hug on this stock and praise what it once did for you, go ahead. The only thing CBRL is doing now is going down. I prefer looking at it through reality spectacles rather than old, worn out, rosey ones. The money is far superior being a realist than holding on to has beens
CBRL up 117 past 2 years, S&P up 39.57% during the same period.. crap or best company on the planet, doesn't matter to me... it matters to make money, and CBRL sure has done that for the bulls..
As for the company, stock trades a little more than 1x's revenue, owns 66% of real estate, has one of best divies in sector, and has untapped growth potential in other markets~
Company had 604 stores in sept 2011, as of its last Q it had 634, its expected to open 6-7 in 2015..
Should be $160-200 stock in the next 12-24 months
Either way, wish you the best of luck!
Are you still involved with this crap company? Selling CDs of widely unknowns with dying/aging audiences spending little or no money?
An obtuse lower trend line does not necessarily mean anything negative. DUH! But you do enjoy flaunting what you don't know. It does lend shorting opportunities are near.
Here is your assignment. Look up "Bill Williams"; "profitunity"; "squat". Then look at the chart again. http://scharts.co/176fE4N Observe the Feb 20 print
You may remember me reminding chart watchers to employ Fibonacci counts in the green/red configuration. Is 4 a Fib number? What does that mean?
Don't give up. You will learn. LOL
$CBRL down 3.59% YTD , up 3.5% last week, up 42.38% YOY ~~~ earnings this week ~~
A few things are going on: Public is discounting any possible positive news (selling on upticks); repeated squat prints in many chart durations suggest the price needs to be lower; the lower trend line became obtuse forming a bear price formation
Yep. one of the highest divy in the sector ~ kudos to you on this trade so far!
The $1.00 dividends keep adding up for me... I really dont know any restaurant stock that gives out that high of dividend. .. I was looking at the next support level to buy some more but looks like its turning up now...
Gotcha - wish you the best.. been watching CBRL for last 12-16 months... they have been on the right path, lowering debt , dividend nearly the highest in the sector now after having no dividend, own 66% of the real estate their locations are on, trade a little more than 1x's revenues.
Also, this Q is going against that horrible winter last year...
No position(yet) so hope it falls for you all ~
Great job on the trade. CRBL hit my
alert has a short, lets see how it unfolds. I am short a few shares
$80 on this stock? Love to heat your thoughts why- I played from $100 to $130 through DEC.. waiting for another oppty to get back in, think we are getting close.
