COR lists as "pending activity" in my account. They closed the deal prior to year's end. In at $110; bought out at $170. Just over 50% gain for the year. That's before capital gains, which will be short-term. Will have a huge tax bill for 2nd year in a row.
Last divvy has been recorded and is in the books. Yesterday was ex-divvy day. Anything one gets over $170.00 is surplus.
Now, it's just a matter of when the sale closes. Initial projection was by end of year. Given the tax policy is likely to change next year, probably best to leave town before EOY. Given I bought on March 1st, might be worth a gamble to see if I can reach long-term holding status on my initial outlay.
Buyout Details:
1. $170 per share or ~$10.1B overall.
2. Expected close is by the end of 2021, or soon thereafter.
3. CoreSite plans to declare and pay its fourth quarter dividend during the fourth quarter of 2021 and no later than the close of the transaction.
Since they are allowing the payout of the divvy, that effectively makes the buyout price ~$171.50 per share.
In terms of taxation (Trump vs. Biden), it's probably better for the vast majority if it transacts in 2021 versus 2022.

By Greg Roumeliotis and David French
(Reuters) - CoreSite Realty Corp, a U.S. data center operator with a market value of more than $8 billion, is working with an investment bank to explore its options after attracting acquisition interest, people familiar with the matter said.
CoreSite has been approached by companies that include American Tower Corp and Digital Realty Trust Corp, as well as private equity firms, the sources said. There is no certainty that CoreSite will successfully negotiate a deal with any party, the sources added.
The sources requested anonymity because the matter is confidential. CoreSite and American Tower did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Digital Realty declined to comment.
Based in Denver, CoreSite has more than 25 operating data center facilities in North America, leasing out space to companies that outsource some of their computing power. It started off as a company of private equity firm Carlyle Group Inc and became publicly listed a decade ago.
CoreSite shares are up 28% year-to-date, outperforming the benchmark U.S. S&P 500 Index, as remote working during the COVID-19 pandemic fueled demand for more processing power and data storage in corporate networks.
Not sure why it's popping hard today on no news but I love. Might challenge the all-time high today or tomorrow. I think odds are low of a blue sky breakout.
Strong selloff. Stock is oversold. Lost the 50-day MA. At least temporary. Sitting in low $140's now. Might venture down to $139. More likely to climb back over the 50-day though: $144ish. Divvy yield is still around 3.5% these days. 10-year treasury is up to 1.5% though. Not an ideal risk-reward situation for yield seekers.
$147ish. $155 is our new ceiling. Consolidation appears to have arrived.
Almost hit $155 yesterday. I think we've found the new stratosphere in our latest clear blue sky run. Consolidation period may not yet be here but it will be soon enough.
$151+. New 52-week high.
Blue sky achieved. $140ish was the old all-time high. Slow melt-up to $148 over recent trading days. Approaching over-bought status. RSI approaching 70 on the daily chart. Suspect we'll hit strong resistance in the $152ish range.
$COR approaching a double-top here. Let's see if we can break through to green sky.
Looking like $COR is only going to get a 5% bump out of QTS deal. Feels too small.
Whooo Dogggiieee. Pullback in full swing today. RSI was 80ish and now it's 66ish. In terms of dollars, that's about $6 per share. Typical pullback and consolidation move IMO. Onward to $140 afterwards? That'll be 10% higher from its price the day QTS announced its pending sale, which was a 21% premium.
$138 are multiple days of multi-dollar appreciation. $140 before the weekend?
Chugging along. QTS got a 21% premium. Figure COR is worth a 10% upgrade. $127 * 10% = $12.70, call it $13. That would put COR at $140. Sounds good to me.
Blackstone to buy Data-Center Operator for 21% premium.
$COR, and the rest of the sector, will get a repricing based on this acquisition. Giggity.

$COR has been on a heater recently. No chatter that I can find as to why.
Round numbers. 200-day MA is $120. 50-day MA is $121. Really tight range. Would love to see a break to the upside again and hold it this time.
Tried to catch a falling knife today. In at $110.56.
No news on why there is this huge selloff.
Share price is getting enticing. Almost pulled the trigger at $117.xx.
