Copper almost $4 a pound again!
Intersects 13 M Of 3.3% Copper, 5.6% Zinc 1.8g/t Gold, 46g/t Silver At Aradaib Prospect, Eritrea
Aug. 24, 2010 (Market News Publishing) --
NGEX RESOURCES INC ("NGQ-T") - Intersects 13 M Of 3.3% Copper, 5.6% Zinc 1.8g/t Gold, 46g/t - Silver At Aradaib Prospect, Eritrea
NGEx Resources Inc.
("NGEx" or the "Company") is pleased to report the results of follow-up drilling at its recently discovered Aradaib volcanic hosted massive sulphide (VHMS) prospect located in northwestern Eritrea. The recently completed drill program followed up previously reported results from ARD-10-01 which returned 10 metres of 1.89% copper, 1.2% zinc, trace lead, 0.92 grams/tonne gold and 21 grams/tonne silver, and a contiguous lower interval of 7 metres of 0.99% copper, 15.15% zinc, 0.32% lead, 0.39 grams/tonne gold, 33 grams/tonne silver (see March 08, 2010 News Release). The recent drill program included three holes around ARD-10-01, and an additional scout hole, on a newly found occurrence of gold mineralized baritic and ferruginous volcanic rock, 1.7 kilometres to the south.
Two holes (ARD-10-03 and 04) confirmed the projected down plunge and down dip extensions of the massive sulfides intersected in ARD-10-01. ARD-10-03 tested 30 metres down plunge from the mineralization in ARD-10-01 and returned 13.0 metres grading 5.59% Zn, 3.31% Cu, 1.85g/t Au and 46g/t Ag from a 20.4 metre intersection of massive sulfide and stringer mineralization. Hole ARD-10-04 drilled on the same section as ARD-10-01 but intersecting the zone 25m deeper, returned 4.0m grading 0.31% Zn, 3.49% Cu, 0.68g/t Au and 38g/t Ag from massive sulfides at 108 metres and 7.0 metres at 1.70% Zn, 2.70% Cu, 0.82g/t Au and 26g/t Ag from 118 metres. The copper in the above intervals occurs as chalcopyrite and bornite which suggests that the high copper grades are primary rather than representing secondary enrichment. The host rocks are metamorphosed to amhibolite grade and the sulphides are coarse grained. The results of ARD-10-03 and ARD-10-04 indicate that mineralization is similar in thickness and grade down dip from ARD-10-01 and similar in thickness but higher in copper and gold to the south. This in turn suggests that the center of the system is to the south.
The third hole in this program, ARD-10-05, was drilled under gossan outcrops approximately 300 metres north of the other two holes, and intersected a thick interval of altered and oxidized volcanic rock with disseminated and stringer mineralization but no significant values. The style of mineralization that was intercepted is interpreted as proximal to a massive sulfide body but it is possible that these drill holes over- or under-cut massive sulphide mineralization
Significant results from this round of drilling are shown in the table.

NOTE: The above intervals are drill hole lengths. There is currently insufficient information to determine the true widths of the intervals.
The Aradaib prospect is located on NGEx's Kerkebet River exploration license and is 75 kilometres north of Nevsun Resources' Bisha deposit (presently under development) and NGEx's Hambok massive sulphide deposit. NGEx's Hambok deposit has an NI 43-101-compliant indicated resource (at a 0.75% zinc cutoff) of 10.7 million tonnes grading 0.98% copper, 2.25% zinc, 6.84g/t silver, 0.20g/t gold and an additional inferred resource (at a 0.75% zinc cutoff) of 17.0 million tonnes of 0.85% copper, 1.74% zinc, 5.89g/t silver, 0.19g/t gold (Hambok NI 43-101 Technical Report, January 23, 2009 available on www.sedar.com). Aradaib is new grass roots discoveries made by NGEx geologists during follow-up of anomalous rock samples collected during regional reconnaissance of the license.
The Aradaib gossan is just one of a large number of similar gossans that have been found by prospecting on the Company's licenses. Prospecting, surface sampling, and ground gravity surveys have been the main exploration methods used, however, this work has largely been limited to areas with good outcrop. The approximately 50% of the Company's license area that is overlain by shallow gravel cover has seen only limited exploration. Airborne Mag and EM, a highly effective tool in VHMS exploration in covered areas, has never been flown over the Company's current licenses due to the expense and difficulty of getting equipment into the country. A consortium of company's operating in Eritrea have recently joined forces to bring an airborne contractor to the country and the Company plans a 1,700 line kilometer survey that will cover the entire license area. The survey is planned for early October, 2010 and is expected to generate significant new targets. It will also be useful for defining possible extensions of known systems like Hambok and Aradaib.
Commenting on the results Wojtek Wodzicki, President and CEO of NGEx, stated, "We are very encouraged by the results from Aradaib which confirm that we have discovered a new copper and gold enriched massive sulfide system at Aradaib. We are also very excited by the prospect of finally being able to fly our license with Mag and EM. We are confident that the airborne geophysical survey combined with the surface geological and geochemical database that we have developed, will help guide future exploration at Aradaib and lead to new discoveries elsewhere on our licenses."
Sample Preparation and Analysis
The drill core was sawn on site and quarter cores were sampled in their entirety in one meter intervals or intervals corresponding to geological breaks. The quartered core was bagged and air-freighted directly to Genalysis Laboratories in Perth, Western Australia. Genalysis Laboratories crushed and ground the samples. All splits and rejects produced during sample preparation have been retained at Genalysis Laboratories. A minimum of 5% duplicate core samples were sent to ALS laboratories in Vancouver for check analyses.
High and low grade, base metal and gold standards were randomly inserted into the sample stream before shipment of the samples to Genalysis. Duplicate samples and standards accounted for approximately 5% of all samples submitted for analysis.

That is actually a good question. I don't know if there is a symbol. I just look at the chart on this board for the price.
Excuse the ignorance here but what is the symbol for copper futures? Seems like the demand for copper will be going higher and higher as more and more countrys develop. Electronics...etc.
Maybe. $4.00 copper by year end is possible. Wich I knew what was best to put money in for it.
Yup - the few that notice will reap the rewards :)
iv been thinking the same thing
The chart is peaking my interest. Flight to medals is only just starting IMO

Would you happen to have any copper charts that go back to the 1980's and 1990's? If so would you be able to post them on this board with the other two charts?
Thanks.
I think that we will past $4.00 sometime next year. Any other guesses?
Still holding above $3.00 range. Just a small drop today but may keep going up towards 4 in the next year.
John O' Hurley, the actor just appeared on Bloomberg TV and was very bullish on copper and China's need for it in its infrastructure. He is the spokesperson for Copper King Mining (cprk)
NGX/NXG Kemess South Mine, B.C., Canada -
During the quarter,
Kemess posted gold and copper production of 34,922 ounces
and 11.9 million pounds, respectively, which was in line
with Northgate's production forecast.
The net cash cost of production was $395 per ounce of gold,
which was significantly lower than the $597 per ounce
reported in the corresponding quarter of 2008.
For the full year 2009,
Kemess is forecast to produce 172,000 ounces of gold
and 51.8 million pounds of copper
at a net cash cost of $403 per ounce.
While gold and copper production is in line with guidance,
the net cash cost is forecast to be significantly lower,
as a result of higher copper prices.
During the third quarter of 2009,
approximately 8.3 million tonnes of ore and waste were
removed from the open pit compared to 5.9 million tonnes
during the corresponding quarter of 2008.
The higher tonnes moved in the most recent quarter resulted
in significantly lower unit mining costs of
Cdn$1.25 per tonne moved compared with
Cdn$1.99 per tonne moved in the same period last year.
Gold and copper recoveries in the third quarter were higher
at 63% and 79%, respectively,
compared with 60% and 69% reported
in the third quarter of last year.
Recoveries in the most recent quarter are dramatically higher
due to improvements in the metallurgical process made earlier
in the year, which have made the flotation circuit more
efficient in processing lower grade ore with higher
sulphide content.
These improvements are noteworthy, as they will continue
to have a positive impact on the profitability of
the lower grade ore, which currently makes up
the remaining reserves at Kemess.
2009 Production Forecast
Northgate's production forecast is set to achieve an annual
record of 365,000 ounces of gold
at a net cash cost of $493 per ounce,
which has been revised slightly downwards form
the previous forecast of 382,500 ounces.
The annual production forecast for Kemess is in line with
initial estimates, however, the production forecasts
for Stawell and Fosterville have been reduced
as previously discussed.
Cash costs for the balance of 2009 are expected to be
slightly higher as a result of the stronger Canadian
and Australian dollar relative to the US dollar
and declining ore reserves at Kemess.
Northgate's production forecast for the balance of 2009
is outlined in the following table:

Bell Copper Corporation: Kabba Data Compilation Supports Large Porphyry Mo-Cu Target
Tuesday June 24, 9:00 am ET
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 24, 2008) -
Bell Copper Corporation -
("Bell Copper" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:BCU - News) is pleased to report that an ongoing compilation of geological and geophysical data from the Company's Kabba project supports the concept of an exceptionally large porphyry Mo-Cu target on ground controlled by the Company through staking and mineral leasing.
Kabba Highlights:
Since initiating the Kabba Project, detailed work programs including mapping, geophysics, geochemistry and drilling have confirmed the Company's proposition that the target at Kabba is a large Molybdenum/Copper Porphyry system at a potentially shallow depth. The dimensions of the 3 kilometer by 5 kilometer target are represented by a similar area of surface alteration within what seems to be the target Porphyry's pre-faulted root zone located on surface to the west of the property. The Kabba target has geological and structural similarities to some of the larger known productive porphyries including: Bingham Canyon, El Teniente and Resolution.
"After three years of extensive and methodical work at Kabba, we believe that a truncated, major Mo-Cu porphyry system lies under shallow cover on our land holdings. While Bell Copper pushes ahead towards development and steady cash flow at its first copper mine at La Balsa, Kabba offers our shareholders the excitement and potential reward of a major porphyry discovery." commented W. Glen Zinn, President of Bell Copper.
Integration of new surface data with diamond drill data from the Company's 2007 drilling program provides a 15 square kilometer target area extending from the last hole drilled (K-4) in the 2007 program to newly mapped outcrops showing porphyry intrusions, sericitic alteration, and Mo-Cu-As-Ni mineralization. Key observations that support the target concept are summarized as follows:
- Detailed geologic mapping shows quartz porphyry intrusions on the extreme western edge of the bedrock exposures in the hangingwall block of the faulted porphyry Mo-Cu system. The quartz porphyries are sericitically altered, and may be the shallowly emplaced equivalents of the quartz monzonite porphyry that hosts molybdenum-copper-tungsten mineralization in the footwall block. Maximum exposed dimensions of the quartz porphyries are 100-200 meters, beyond which they are obscured by thin postmineral volcanic rocks and conglomerate.
- Aeromagnetic surveying shows a distinct low anomaly coincident with hydrothermal alteration in and around the quartz porphyries. The low magnetic intensity in this area is believed to reflect sulfidation of primary magnetite, which is otherwise common in the Precambrian host rocks outside of the area of hydrothermal alteration. The westerly extent of this low anomaly is obscured by magnetic postmineral volcanic rocks.
- Geochemical analyses of about 1400 outcropping mineralized veinlets in the hangingwall show clustering of elevated copper-molybdenum-arsenic-nickel values in and around the quartz porphyry intrusions.
- Mineralized veinlets in the hangingwall of the Kabba porphyry system (core and outcrops) are exceptionally enriched in nickel relative to the world's other large porphyry systems. Many veinlets carry several hundred parts per million nickel, about one order of magnitude higher than even Ni-rich porphyries like Bingham and El Teniente.
- The presence of minor lamprophyre and ultramafic biotite minette dikes spatially and temporally related to the Kabba porphyry system (i.e. both cutting and cut by mineralized veinlets) supports a direct contribution to the system by mantle-derived melts, a feature regarded by some geologists to favor higher than average metal endowments, e.g. Bingham and El Teniente.
- Fluorine mineralization (fluorite) is abundant at Kabba and is genetically linked to porphyry molybdenum-copper mineralization. Elevated fluorine is a distinctive characteristic of the giant Resolution porphyry and its neighbor, the Pinto Valley porphyry.
- Seismic reflection profiling completed by the Company in early 2007 showed that the Hualapai Fault cuts the Kabba porphyry at a surprisingly shallow 30-35 degrees. Reconstruction of a postmineral olivine basalt found on both sides of the fault suggests that the more prospective, shallow part of the Kabba porphyry system lies about 5.6 kilometers east of the greisenous quartz monzonite porphyry root zone of the system.
- The root zone of the porphyry system measures about 3 kilometers in an east-west direction by 5 kilometers in a north-south direction. These dimensions are comparable to the world's largest porphyry systems.
- Drilling by the company in mid-2007 confirmed the shallow dip of the Hualapai Fault and in the last hole (K-4) cut more than 900 meters of variably sericitized rocks, including 20 andesite porphyry dikes. Mineralization in the drillhole included multiple molybdenite-bearing quartz veins, local arsenic-rich pyritic breccia, and common disseminated fluorite mineralization. These strong mineralogical and geological similarities with the footwall outcrops more than 5 kilometers to the west make it likely that K-4 penetrated the hangingwall of the dismembered Kabba porphyry system. The thickness of cover rocks at the K-4 site was only 100 meters, suggesting that most of the 15-square-kilometer target area will also be under relatively shallow cover.
- Drillhole K-4 is located 2.4 kilometers northwest of the quartz porphyry intrusions found in outcrop in the hangingwall bedrock exposures. Potentially mineralized rocks in the intervening ground are obscured by relatively thin postmineral volcanic rocks and conglomerate.
- Approximately 1600 acres of additional ground were acquired in late 2007 and early 2008 to cover potential extensions to the main target area.
- Authorization has been received from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to repair access roads and to build up to eight drill pads in the target area. The Company will select two of the most prospective of these drill sites to complete two diamond drillholes to depths of at least 1000 meters. A suitable diamond drill is expected to be available to complete this work in August 2008.
- The first site to be drill tested will lie along the 2.4-kilometer-long line between drillhole K-4 and the altered quartz porphyry intrusions.

"I am pleased to report a significant increase in our net income,
after tax.
Our fourth quarter was particularly strong, with net income of
$3.8 million, or $0.008 per basic and fully diluted share,
from revenues of $9.2 million, demonstrating a
healthy 41% profit margin.
The stronger financial performance this year is due to
the acquisition of the Blanket Mine in June 2006.
Blanket Gold Mines -
produced 12,437 ounces of Gold for the period of July
to December 2006.
We are busy with the expansion project to No.4 shaft
and the mill, which we anticipate will be completed
during the fourth quarter 2007,
which has been designed to increase Blanket's gold production
from 25,000 to 40,000 ounces a year.
As we have mentioned before, our other gold assets,
the Barbrook and Eersteling mines are on care and maintenance,
and the short listed purchasers are now proceeding
with their respective due diligence exercises.
Our focus during 2007 will be the completion of
the Blanket expansion,
and rapidly progressing our
Nama Cobalt/Copper project
after the completion of the metallurgical test work
currently underway."

Bolivia Threatens Chile's Copper Output With Water Dispute
By Matthew Craze
Dec. 27 (Bloomberg) --
Bolivia plans to ``industrialize' a river that supplies water to Chile's Atacama Desert, threatening the world's largest copper mining district.
Bolivia placed a 20-man military post on the banks of the river, about 4 kilometers away from Chile's border, as a first step to tapping the water resource, Bolivia's government state information agency ABI said today.
The Silala River flows from 4,000 meters above sea level in the Andes cordillera to Chile's Antofagasta region, which produces most of the nation's copper. Mining companies need water to extract metal from bare rock.
Bolivia President Evo Morales urged plans to industrialize the water resource which is now being ``diverted illegally into Chile,' ABI reported. Morales, who formerly campaigned for coca- leaf growers, plans to bottle the water and sell it with the slogan, ``Drink Silala water for sovereignty,' ABI said.
Morales, who became Bolivia's first indigenous leader last
year, attended an Army parade with at the outcrop today -
wearing military uniform -
Chile's state-run Codelco,
the world's largest mining company,
uses Silala water to turn ore from its Chuquicamata and
Radomiro Tomic mines into copper concentrate,
an intermediary product which is refined into metal.
BHP Billiton, the world's largest mining company,
also operates its Escondida mine -
in Chile's Antofagasta region.
Escondida is the world's largest copper mine,
while Chuquicamata is the third-largest.
Bolivia lost the Antofagasta region in a four-year war
with Chile and Peru in the late 19th century.
The two countries have severed diplomatic ties
and Bolivia has petitioned the United Nations to grant
it access to the Pacific Ocean.
Bolivia is South America's poorest nation.
Copper prices have quadrupled since 2002 on the London Metal
Exchange because of a global shortage caused by surging
demand from China.
