lol, nope.
The costs of fracking wells have fallen in the past year, especially in the Haynesville, the second-largest U.S. gas deposit behind the Marcellus.
CRK says it could get a 30% return on its new wells even with gas at $2.50/MMBtu, and plans to drill more wells in the Haynesville than it will in the oily Eagle Ford Shale in south Texas.

CRK had retreated more than 90% over the past 12 months before today's rebound.
Comstock Resources (NYSE:CRK) soared 67% in today's trade after disclosing several of its executives and board members this week purchased a combined 45K shares of the company's stock.
Thanks and grats today! Wow what a big run. Kicking myself of course but that's life :)
Good job keep it up no risk no reward. In the green is victory no matter what
Yeah that's ok. I made lots of money in a very short amount of time. Could have made more, but I've hung on far to long to some positions. Small steady gains are my forte as of now. Still very much learning. (Only 24 y/o).
To bad, you will not get back in under 2.50.
Profit is profit hot back in at 2.10 Shes just gonna keep goin $5 short term
Great pops today. Sold at 2.26 for a 25% profit. Couldn't resist. Might buy back lower.
2.00 is going to be a special number for this week. If we can bust through quickly and close above it could get interesting.
Long also, the amount of short interest is ridiculous here they will cover one day smart ones already are. Continues to show some muscle, higher highs daily for the most part since last week! just look at the 1 month chart.
I'm holding long here. Oil stocks have been beaten so badly. We restructured our debt, large insider buys, showing strength in a down market amid large recent gains (surviving profit taking). Analysts ratings are positive (grain of salt).
CRK is positing itself very nicely for this bear oil market.
It was undisclosed. I'm interest though since we are active in Burleson County so I'll check TRRC records.
Comstock Resources (CRK -12.6%) has dropped sharply following news it agreed to sell its oil and gas properties in the Eagle Ford Shale in east Texas for ~$115M.
Comstock Resources (NYSE:CRK): Q1 EPS of -$1.06 misses by $0.15.
Revenue of $66.52M (-53.1% Y/Y) misses by $10.55M.
Way over sold. Waiting for a good bounce. Next few days should give us 5-10% profit
anybody else looking for a nice bounce? I'm in if it hits <$5.25. Thoughts? Seems to have a bunch of erroneous news stuff getting attitude to CRK.
You think? Research says low cash position, a little high on debt, but they are growing revenues with their new wells. I'd say good turnaround story if it comes to fruition. I'm on the fence until the oil world settles down a bit!
I'm starting a postion . I think this company will be ok. What's everyone's thought

Estimated Eagle Ford original oil-in-place is 40+ Mmboe/section.

Financials actually look pretty good, growing profits. Granted they have debt but mostly long term and getting paid down through profits. Surprised this went this low, and i thought we might be at the bottom until hearing about all the downgrading of europe. Should be an ugly monday.

Natural gas stocks will do very well once prices improve. A clear catalyst to higher prices will come in the form of any of: (i) Federal government support for natural gas, (ii) threatened oil supplies by Mid East instability, (iii) reduced shale gas production, is not apparent we are taking the opportunity to rotate among the names we like as their relative values change.
Great map of of the Haynesville / Bossier Shale Play:
http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/rpd/shaleusa4.pdf
Not going to get natural gas stocks much cheaper. Long term no brainer. The stock has been cut in half this year and trades at book value. The company currently has a market capitalization hovering around $1 billion. The primary exposure for the company is in the Haynesville Shale play with 78,000 net acres and the Bossier Shale play with 50,000 net acres. Comstock is also one of low cost producers, with total producing and finding costs of $2.77 per Mcfe, which should allow it to weather the storm. If and when natural gas prices recover, this stock should follow suit in a big way.
MANAGEMENT’S DISCUSSION AND ANALYSIS OF FINANCIAL CONDITION AND RESULTS OF OPERATIONS
agreed.... nice stock though.
Not yet, I'd wait for a decisive close < 5-day EMA because it's in a strong up trend.
