While at first glance NEM may look like a perfect short , on the longer term view one should be careful.Notice the 2 bottoms in may and the topping out process in november to january of each year at 50ish. If 50 is tested again it should be taken this time I believe. Nem could dip down to the low 30's and still be ok chartwise. IMO

compared to other times yes, lol I need volume on it. lol
A relatively mild reading.
Tasty cake indicator at 100%.
Ya, it seems to be a bit of support here, but nothing but air below.
Even Jordan couldn't cover that air.
Would be another nice one to "own" in the 15-20 range.
well, I haven't covered my swing short yet? If that tells you anything. g
Also short elx.
What about NTAP? Wait for sub-20?
http://stockcharts.com/webcgi/Pnf.asp?S=NTAP&Y=U&B=0.7&N=A&C=2
Better lucky than good sometimes. It in its gap now, though, so it may get hit with some selling pressure.
I figure its close to a low if this isn't it.
They have a new animated feature called Wallace and Grommit. I have seen some shorts with these guys. They are pretty funny. It just might be a hit, and lots of licencing potential.
Nice pick up so far on dwa , wish I had of taken my gut feeling that this was a low. Maybe on the retest.
Took a small position at 22.58. Thought about doing a buy/write and just writing puts, but just bought the common. will add lower.
I did a bit of research here. It appears that there aren't any real blockbusters out there in the pipeline. This means that there is no major catalyst that will propel the stock price higher, but it also means that after The Island, there is no major movie that can derail them further. They've had their bad movies, they've warned. Now, it's time to rebuild.
I guess the question is, can you bet on Spielberg to come back? Or has he lost it? And, can I stomach owning stock in a hollywood moonbat company?
Ah well. It's got good options Strikes and premiums.
Actually this chart looks just bad enough to interest me. lol A bounce could be extreme. 3-10 points anyway.
Any thoughts on DWA? Hard to believe these guys won't be back. The Sept 22.50 puts will pay a buck.
It looked like the trades came off at the ask. Looked like they were bearish bets, but you never know. It could have just been a roll trade into the next month.
That chart updates automatically. I will be a believer if it nails it again.
Or acquisition?? BTW Have you updated this lately?

Someone was sure active this morning in the CREE options pits. Aug $25 Puts and Sept 22.50 puts. Lots of volume. Big miss coming?
Yes, a definite slowing of momentum. When does it turn down for the count is the question. Might take a while yet.
27 is an ok area I think, it may trade a couple dollars lower. BTW The $nysi was anemic on friday.
You think 27 is too high. I think it's prob. a good area. If not the bottom, a bounce that can be hedged. I don't see it under 30 longer term, so a buy under there should be OK.
Be patient , management being cautious is no fluke. g
DIE QLGC DIE!!!
I am buying as soon as the daily is oversold. 27 hopefully.
It was a nice comeback today on the indexes and the Semis. Might show some good underlying strength where those summations will be able to clear the res. areas.
Then again, maybe not.
I was surprised at the comeback, but we're still pretty overbought. Can we do it. I guess the market will let us know.
Ok we're there on both summation indexes so let's see what happens before the next move shows itself.

Advance declines point to a down tilt for tomorrow and friday.
http://stockcharts.com/webcgi/Pnf.asp?S=$Nyad&Y=U&B=280&N=A&C=2
http://stockcharts.com/webcgi/Pnf.asp?S=$Naad&Y=U&B=280&N=A&C=2
Nasdaq net new highs probably go where now? g
http://stockcharts.com/webcgi/Pnf.asp?S=$NAhl&Y=U&B=70&N=A&C=2
A mini double top seems to forming in the $nyhl
http://stockcharts.com/webcgi/Pnf.asp?S=$Nyhl&Y=U&B=70&N=A&C=2
So having said all that we probably test naz 2240 and dow 10,710-10,780 possibly but we don't have too.
It's the tasty cake indicator it hit 417% today. lol I wuz gone most all day today did something happen? g
LOL. OK, who lit the fire under SMH?
Wow, look at that strength.
Nice to have written those calls. LOL.
One heck of a resistance level. I don't see a lot of upside from here really, but what is there to turn us back down? Maybe interest rates?
Maybe we just make time and set a top. If we spend a bit of time here - or anywhere up to maybe 2300 - we're probably setting a top. But, there is still that inverse H&S on the COMPQ.
I wrote some calls on SMH this morning. I am trying to buy back my puts on CREE. Just lather, rinse and repeat I guess. LOL.
oops SWH prinitng the breakout in the software names.
$compq 2170 presenting quite the struggle from sept 2000.
http://stockcharts.com/webcgi/Pnf.asp?S=$compq&Y=U&B=70&N=A&C=2
$nasi is only about 36-37 points away from reaching overhead resistance. So we probably get much of the way there today and then what?? g
What a surprise.
Well if I wanted to bring it up it appears that he has a credibility problem. In this post he says on friday that he sold gern for a 2 cent loss and then bought back at 8.37.
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?Message_id=6988104&txt2find=gern
Problem is that in his post yesterday where he posted his friday gern buys he never bought gern back at 8.37 at anytime during the day. Not even close.
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=7011926
Oops! g
LOL. He's off with his tail between his legs anyway.
wow on the daily gern has a long term cci reading of 348, quite a high reading for a further rise in prices to begin. Sheee don't tell anyone. g
That would seem like a good place to continue this rally. Bios are a little ovedone, and Semi's don't seem to want to lead the charge.
Maybe watch to see if CSCO catches a bid and breaks out.
Hmmmm, maybe time to play the software names here if it breaks to the upside.
http://stockcharts.com/webcgi/Pnf.asp?S=swh&Y=U&B=.7&N=A&C=2
That's exactly what I was thinking. But, in the $30-32 range, I think I will write some puts on it or give a trade a try. Jim reminded me that their earnings are soon, and C may have tipped bankings' hand there. May be an earnings play too. An opening gap down to $30 after earnings. Ahh, dare to dream.
Nothing concrete on JPM to me on candle charts GT, but on pnf charts it looks $10 lower over time. 33 is a bad oen for it.
Hmmmmmmm, berry interesting to watch.

SGP, look at the nice cyclical movement around the weekly stochastic. Still pointed down, but what a beautiful weekly uptrend/base.
http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.web?c=SGP,uu[f,a]whclyyay[pc10!c20!c50!c200!b200!d20,2!i!f][vc...
Interest rates have been rising, so hopefully that will help Gold.
I hope my weeklies don't fail me here, I went long some gold stocks. Better set some stops I guess. g SGP may be nearing a break up and out.
Wrote some putskies on NEM. Looks pretty weak, but what the heck, hey?
LOL. Cool. I'm sitting about 6.25 cost basis now. It's BS the way they eliminated all the options months. I am contemplating selling it on any spike, but I really would still like to be in it for the buy-out/privatization news. I still say its coming at some point. Will prob. just sit on it for the time being. Maybe start trading it on dips or something. It's moves are actually quite nice.
after tomorrow my doughnuts are free. gg
Ya, I think you mentioned that earlier this week. I don't think it's going much lower myself. Although, there is a perfect 5 wave structure to it, with the 5th wave down still to come. Only problem is, $XAU, $HUI - etc. do not confirm it.
Breaking nicely to a new LOD here after failure at the mid-bollinger band. I don't expect more than another buck or so, if that.
http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.web?c=NEM,uu[f,a]dhclyyay[dd][pc10!c20!c50!c200!b200!d20,2!f][...
I am watching like a hawk but I have pending , just by a tad, multiple weekly buy signals on the $hui and $xau.
Mucho upside doesn't seem too likely from here. But I guess you never know. I hope we can get a bit higher on this current push, so that I can get a nice write in on the Semi's. I don't know why we wouldn't test the 2190 high on the Naz. Especially since we broke the 52 week high on the SPX already.
I am using this IB web trader tool when I'm at work, and today I am not getting correct NYSE quotes, nor am I getting any options quotes. Pissing me off. I am contemplating writing some puts on NEM here. It's prob. good that the quotes are off. I'm usually a bit early anyway. :^))
You think if I bitched enough they would give me the $52+ inside bid that is showing on NEM right now?
If NEM drops a bit more - 36-37ish - I will write some puts.
Uh oh Bubba, decision time for the dow. Battle lines are drawn 10,780 for mucho upside and 10,080 for mucho downside. Or we could play between the lines.
http://stockcharts.com/webcgi/Pnf.asp?S=$INDU&Y=U&B=140&N=A&C=2
Cool...fun watching anyway. That's cool. I have a niece who is a very good high school softball shortstop and an even better basketball player. She'll get a scholarship to play basketball next year (already has) and is trying to decide which school. She's not necessarily Div. I material, but has lots of interest from Div. II and III schools.
Has good presence on the mound Burk, but not quite sure if he will have the body size to see it thru. gg Happy for now though.
