DTC Update:
CAGTF is NOT DTC eligible. Apparently DTC physically holds the certs right now, but they are only eligible for "custody" holders.
This means that if you hold your shares with Penson, DO NOT SELL because you'll get the crazy $200-$700 fee for trading a Non-DTC eligible stock.
today32, I believe you are correct. http://www.otcmarkets.com/stock/CAGTF/company-info
Am I missing something? There are 160,724 shares outstanding and someone is selling at .55? That would make the market cap $80k. There are also 500 shares on the ask at $1.01, which would only be a $160k market cap.
Do I have the outstanding share count correct?
Out now. Just sold off at a huge loss. Not that anyone cares about this anymore :(
Been some trading the past week or so. Could be something.
You may be right as the name does have a slite differance as Tech is not spelled out for that one. I guess that would explain it. Thanks.
Doesnt look like the same company. If it doesnt show the symbol then its probably not the co. And if the name isnt exactly the same its probably not the same co.imo
29 July 2010 China Agrotech acquires HK$1 billion worth of agri business
China Agrotech Holdings Ltd(1073) has announced plans to spend HK$1 billion to obtain entire equities of Present Sino Ltd that principally owns white bark pine bases in Shanxi Province and Beijing.
The Hong Kong-listed firm will pay HK$800 million by issuing five-year convertible bonds for HK$1 apiece, and the remaining HK$2 million will be paid through issuance of acceptance bills.
Present Sino, which is engaged in the research and development, cultivation and sales of white bark pines and other valuable and rare trees, will build R&D centers in the above two cities and Tianjin.
China Agrotech Holdings has posted HK$4.64 million-profit before taxation for the latter half of 2009 and has not yet posted any fiscal result for this year, sources reported.
I found this news yet the company did not issue a press release for it. I don't know why.
CHINA AGROTECH (HKG:1073) entered into the S&P Agreement. Pursuant to which the Company agreed to acquire all issued shares in the Target Company (Present Sino Limited), at an aggregate Consideration of HK$1,000 million to be satisfied by the issue of the Promissory Notes and the Convertible Bonds.
The principal business of the Target Group is research and development, nursing, planting and sales of landscaping seedlings, led by whitebark pine and other rare seedlings. The PRC Subsidiary's current seedling bases are located in Shanxi Province and Beijing, the PRC, and is planning on the construction of new seedling promotion parks in Shanxi, Beijing and Tianjin, the PRC.
The Directors are optimistic about the prospect of seedling industry in the PRC and are of the view that the acquisition of the Target Group will allow the Company to diversify its scope of agriculture business and further utilise its distribution network of agricultural resources products developed over the years, enlarge its asset base and enhance its source of income.
Just noticed some volume today. Its been a long while.
Are you going to try to get more shares or just holding tight? Any volume could push this up or down very fast.
Still tracking CAGTF but news is needed and may be close to coming.
Should be a news update coming. Will keep a watch for it.
Well it looks like this one is doen. At 52 week low now.
Your right. They should at least let us know what is going on since the re-org last September.
no i have not. this co. has not done anything since it's founder passed away approx. 2 years ago????
Have you called the company yet? We need a news update here.
Yeah, everytime I put a buy order in I only get partial fills and the ask moves. Have not tryed again the past 6 weeks.
it rarely moves .and it's not easy to accumulate shares. apparently there is a small float and very few sellers. if you have a longer term horizon yes .buy low and hold. but i'm merely speculating and that's what this is.
The price has come way down to this level for some reason. You would think that it would bounce back some from these over sold levels.
Thanks for this information as I am trying to find out more myself. This could be a big hit but who knows.
You have been following much longer then me so do you think it it good to get some more shares while they are down here. I only have a few but been thinking about getting some more.
Thanks.
i have been a shareholder for a few years now. they had leased more than 500,000acres in indonesia to plant a biofuel. but no further news about it ever showed up. the co.'s stock price had run from.02 to more than 1.30 approx. 2-3 years ago. then the principle passed away, a new co.head came in and they were talking about creating hard wood plants thru some new method???? i am still long, can't believe that with all the appreciation in china stocks, this has not[yet] joined in,but i am still hopeful
The mod is gone and it look like we have dropped off the radar now.
I think that your right. I am keeping this on close watch. I like what I am seeing.
this co. has a very low float, however it is currently in restructuring as far as i am concerned until they start filings again.
its worth a shot if you have money that can sit
or if you want a potential tax break
what this will do in the future is as much a gamble as throwing dice in vegas at this point.
having said that i have money invested here to sit until it either pops, or i need the tax break
only time will tell what they intend on doing
jmo
Are you still in CAGTF? I am thinking about getting some shares but it does not trade very often.
Thanks.
Just noticed this one. From what I am reading it seems like the company is still active. Do you still think this is a good mover from here?
Any price drop and I will load up again. Hard to trade with such low volume however.
Volume 0 again today. The quite before the storm!
For Agro the more reaserch that I do the more I like it. The office in Singapore had someone pick up the phone and was able to tell me about the company going into reorginzation. Just the fact I could contact someone got me thinking the could really be something huge. I was not expecting anyone to be there.
I still am trying to buy shares as I feel the low price we are at will not last and a quick jump to .02 would be the minimum price this should be at just like last September.
Still not much interest here and when that turns this could be a huge mover.
I will be calling again as I have prepard more questions to ask.
im still holding, i have my doubts about what will happen here, but holding nonetheless.
i also agree that if they come out of this dormancy, it wont take much to move it up with the low float.
gl
Any volume will move this. Every order I put in seem not to get filled as price jumps up.
Wont take much volume to move this again. Stll have some shares and think this may be a big one. Like what I heard when I called.
I did call the number in Singapore. A lady answered but her English with limited. She said that the company was re-orginized which I new already and was still doing the business on the web site. I told her that I e-mailed Pew but he never wrote back. She also said she would ask him about that. I think she understood that. To me this was very positive and if the price drops again may buy back some shares.
Sold most of my shares. I kind of give up.
paw.yewhock@gmail.com Has anyone tryed his e-mail to get more information about the company?
Not sure how the price drops on such little volume.
Hmmm odd...I've been showing bid at .01 for the past week and a half that I've been following. Right now I'm showing bid/ask .01x.0035. Knew something was wrong...using scottrade and never had this prob with a stock before
The bid is actully at .0031 and ask .0035. Not sure where you see the .01.
Was checking this one out...how come the bid is always set at .01? and ask seems to sit at .004-.005?
No volume today. Ask is at .004 now.
Glad that your still around. I think that it is more than a shell but company has not had any updates since last September. Not that many shares outstanding so I don't think price will drop that much. If it does I will be sure to scoop up some more shares.
Thanks.
im still around from time to time and yes im still holding. the amount i have invested here is small compared to my major positions and if this tanks, ill use it as a write off, no biggie.
that said, while i have not contacted the co., it is my opinion, that this is now a shell. they have had ample time to file the financials, and as far as i can tell, basicly do not have any income being generated at this point and their new or current business model doesnt seem to be active at all.
depending on where this goes over the course of this year, ill either average down or just make the determination of taking it as a tax loss, but if i dont see or hear any progress by the co. i will not be a holder of this in 2011.
if i had to make a guess, i would look for this to go to the sub 001'a and either the shell is sold, or once it gets below .001, we'll start to get some news (who knows it may even get to .0001 in which case id have to buy double my investm, ent and let it sit).
this stock is more than a gamble at this point, its alot like betting money on the vikings to win the superbowl this year, and as we all know, they arent even in it lol
I wonder if Oldbee is gone now also.
Has anyone contacted China Agro for more information?
Thanks.

China Agro-Technology is primarily involved in the biotech rights for non-tube agricultural clone biotechnology as well as the marketing of such proprietary rights and technical know-how to the global market. The Company is also aggressively pursuing the rights to technology that has the ability to give softwoods the physical characteristics of hardwoods, which opens up the profitable hardwood industry to a much more inexpensive alternative.
Driven by agro-biotechnology, CAGTF has been involved in biotechnology that allows it to achieve output increases through a shorter growth period of various high growth rate trees. CAGTF’s genetically engineered eucalyptus strains, for example, are suitable for cultivation at different climatic conditions and are able to grow within just 4-5 years time to a height of 35 to 40 meters.
CAGTF is currently in an aggressive acquisition mode for the rights to a technology that could revolutionize the lucrative global hardwood industry. Hardwoods account for over $300 billion in global lumber demand and, with diminishing worldwide supply and strict regulations, face a market with very high and increasing demand with a rapidly shrinking supply. CAGTF seeks to meet that demand by offering a manufacturing solution that changes softwood to hardwood cost-effectively and with high profit margins.
One of the highest growth potential areas for CAGTF is the development of this wood treatment technology for eucalyptus lumber. Eucalyptus is one of the most popular woods used in the pulp industry and is grown in many regions of the world. The trees grow very quickly (they can even be chopped at the root and still grow back) and have a long fiber suitable for many practical applications. The problem with eucalyptus is that the wood cracks very easily during the traditional lumber drying process used in furniture manufacturing. Eucalyptus drying research is a hot bed of global research activity since so many nations view eucalyptus cultivation as a booming cash crop.
This wood treatment technology is the world’s first economically feasible solution for eucalyptus drying and CAGTF forecasts strong revenue potential from the global licensing of its technology
CAGTF, through the anticipated acquisition of a wood treatment technology company, is seeking to develop, commercialize and license pioneering wood treatment technologies that convert sustainably-grown softwood into a wood product with the properties of hardwood. The process, which can be used for softwoods as well as hardwoods that are not traditionally used for manufacturing, creates products, which are on par with or better performing than tropical hardwoods.
CAGTF seeks to organize its wood treatment production into three main divisions. The first division will handle the wood treatment production facilities in Shanghai and Zhangzhou, China, which are the world’s first commercial-scale manufacturing facilities for the technology. The second division will be the R&D department. This division will focus on continued refinements to the engineering process as well as operating protocols for the polymerization of softwood as well as the drying process of eucalyptus. The third division will be focused on the global licensing of the wood treatment technology. Licensing will account for a significant portion of CAGTF’s revenues going forwards. Licensing fees will come from initial licensing, continued renewal and royalty fees, as well as the continuous provisioning of hardener/polymer supplies.
If you are unfamiliar with the wood and lumber industry here are some interesting facts:
There are several benefits associated with CAGTF's proposed wood treatment process:
