Mgt. pumping a bit lately to dump some shares on the unsuspecting? Welcome to CHTP-ville.
You must have Etrade....
Company spokesman say no news at all for the day but the company
continues to pursue launch of Northera and also exploring startegic alliances.
Anyone seeing funny numbers on their trading account. Mine shows that the total gain today is the current trading price??
Good question. I'm watching closely though...
WTH ? Why we bouncing ?
I would think if something big was up, this would get bear raided down? But then again prices don't just jump this big out of nowhere for nothing. Hmmmm
Buy after buy going through.
Someone knows something.
Negative to positive in a few minutes.
What just happened?
I think it is obvious that the company is undervalued but until there is concrete facts to support that, the stock price will not hold steady. This company isn't ripe for trading, it's an investment. Given what we know today, time is your friend with this company IMO.
What we know:
1. Accelerated Approval of Nothera
2. Estimated peak annual sales eclipse current market cap
3. Only (indirect) competition is under scrutiny, any weakness increases CHTP's value - with significant potential.
4. CEO (and thus BOD) has shown interest in maximizing company value in whichever way makes most sense (BO, partner, GIA). Value defined not by "what will make our company's share price jump 10% tomorrow" ... but rather "what will double our value by next year" (but in all honesty, lets hope it happens sooner).
5. Company can't stay quiet forever and earnings are due soon.
I'm holding my stock and buy short term calls out of the money each month - knowing that any day a $0.05 call option could return 20x or more with the right news. I'm personally betting it is just matter of time and putting my money where my mouth is. Any dip in price makes my out of the money call options get a strike lower and lower - which is a good thing if a BO comes at the "expected" range.
FDA didn't give accelerated approval to Enron either.
As I recall, Enron wasn't a pink sheet stock either.
1. this is not a pink stock.
2. Would the FDA give accelerated approval to a "scam"? No.
No. Not a scam. Things take time.
Another scam obviously.
All bios are up today, this included.
I sold a large chunk today as this was the pop I was waiting for.
GLTA, I do not expect any news from the company any time soon.
Strong rise today - on average volume. Still undervalued in my opinion. I'm glad to get some of my money back since my horribly timed double down at $6/share.
YMB has talk of changes to the website. I would say money spent on changes to website design points less to buyout and more partnership. Go it alone seems nearly impossible at this point given the lack of hiring and marketing. Just a thought.
Unfortunately there is nothing to even speculate on or research about this company considering the lack of action (or at least public action...). Guess we'll all just have to hold on a little longer than expected...
what happened to the people who need this medicine? Wouldn't they be the ones clamouring for availability? There were a number of touching testimonials during the fda panel review.
Two months since approved.
Pretty sad for management not to issue any updates.
Short interest is up significantly - must be some people out there betting on the go-it-alone strategy with an offering at a discount.
I'm holding for the partnership or buyout email. Hoping that comes in the next couple months...
Huh, it was $5.85 just 2 days ago, and its $5.32 today, exactly how is that "holding up"?
It has been very quiet. The fact that the stock is holding up to this volatility in the biotech market while not generating any ir or announcements is pretty amazing. I hope we get some news shortly.
I get the feeling that buying is very strategic right now. The price heads south getting people to let go on the cheap, some big buys go through but not big enough to take the price too much higher than opening...and then dull for the rest of the day.
This has happened for about a week straight, day after day. Strong(ish) morning, then nothing for the rest of the day. Rinse, repeat.
Anyone else notice this pattern?
I'm thinking of doing the same... My patience is wearing thin. Time to get back into something else.
@noonehasthisusermane but a 92,000 order when in.
No merger, no buyer, no news from company...
Set my sell order at next pop to break even...
GLTA....
i would do the same but only if this climbs back to +6s.
Yea I moved it back out and doubled down MN*D on the bear raid. I have no clue what's happening with CHTP.
Nope, no news whatsoever. This POS stock is about to be worth less than pre-fda approval! so frustrating holding here...
Sentiments? Having been following much these past few days. Any updates that we know of?
all biotechs are down today, they will eventually bounce back. Just bought myself 500 more shares
Nothing CHTP related. I would consider this a "buy the weakness" moment - good day to add more if you were considering it before.

'nough said.
Is there something going on that I'm unaware of? Dropping like a rock since open... Still long but also thinking I'm nuts!
Odd trade...I can't imagine that 3M shares could be gobbled up without some sort of price movement. I know there is a way to see details about trades, but I don't have that kind of access.
The good news is, either way, we should see positive price action Monday (I think).
That's what I show. Big money. Perhaps news coming in the near term.
Were 3 mill shares just bought after hours?
I'm glad... Those where my 100 contracts ..... Yeah
Some light reading
Thanks for the article. The author expressed his opinion very well in a reasonable fashion without pumping the stock. I absolutely agree CHTP is double digit stock. It's so amazing these wall street wolves all move in pack. We will double from here in less than 12 months whichever path CHTP takes.
Northera is Real.
All imho
GLTA
Some light reading - he makes some good points:

Been seeing a lot of chatter about CHTP and buyouts.

None taken! ... Let's hope today's nice little move up continues and whoever bought those calls looks like a genius tomorrow.
Best of luck with your holdings!
Ok...did not mean to insult. Just meant in the stock market, $500 isn't much. Regards.
It's not so much the money, but a $500 option trade that expires in 5 (now 4) trading days with a strike over 30% out of the money? Big/risky/interesting/speculative/etc...however you want to spin it.
I went with big - $500 isn't lunch money to me.
Wow, how do you define big bet? A $500 option trade?
I'm a little surprised that 100 March $8 options went for $0.05 this morning. Pretty big bet (or mistake) on someone's part that CHTP will make a good size move up...or covering themselves relatively cheap while they short this week.
Guess we'll see what plays out!

Chelsea Therapeutics International (NASDAQ: CHTP)
Chelsea Therapeutics International, Ltd., a development stage pharmaceutical company, focuses to acquire and develop products for the treatment of various human diseases. The company develops prescription products for multiple autoimmune disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, and cancer. It also develops therapeutic agent for the treatment of neurogenic orthostatic hypotension and related conditions, and diseases. In addition, the company develops platform technologies that consist of a portfolio of molecules for the treatment of various autoimmune/inflammatory diseases, and I-3D portfolio, a dihydroorotate dehydrogenase inhibiting compound. Chelsea Therapeutics' product in development includes CH-1504, an orally available molecule for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, psoriatic arthritis, and cancer. The company was incorporated in 2002 and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Chelsea has a balanced portfolio of novel therapeutic agents that address disease states that correspond to significant unmet medical need. Investigational product candidates in the Chelsea pipeline include droxidopa, which is being evaluated for its potential use in indications which we believe norepinephrine may play a role, as well as a library of metabolically inert antifolate medications, including two clinical-stage products, CH-4051 and CH-1504, for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases.
Behind these late and mid-stage products is a complementary portfolio of dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) inhibitors, known as I-3D, which may have applications in treating autoimmune diseases and transplant rejection.
