Given the cash flow problems the underlying oil assets are having it is highly unlikely they will pay 9 cents per quarter.
CEN doesn't save any money by accruing monthly and paying quarterly. They save money by paying out less.
Going to quarterly also gives them a little more time to figure out how much than CAN afford to pay out.
I hope so.
I will probably buy more. I'm hoping it bounces back.
It can't rain all the time.
Yeah, I read it after I was pointed in the right direction.
IT IS GOING QUARTERLY - Will have to wait to see what the rate will be. If it comes out 9 cents or better than it will still yield the same annual percentage.
Quarterly - Thanks for pointing to the right date to find it.
So much for swing trading this one, the monthly chase WAS the incentive
No - it will be quarterly going forward starting in June. Read the news item from 3/25/20.
Here it is.
Not sure if it still pays .03 month but only paid out quarterly or just .03 every quarter.

Have you seen any announcement saying that?
Hey is the CEN distribution quarterly now?
Over the weekend, oil has dropped to $15.00 a barrel, some analysts are calling or $2.00. Its dicey, the economy is shuttered no ones driving, no demand but the US is stock piling rebuilding its reserves for future demand.
Its quite possible CEN will drop in to the .70's. This virus has really messed things up.
Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the info.
.96 - .98 anything under a buck is a good place to add, Funds generally give quarterly guidance meaning they dont announce the dividend monthly. Usually with monthly payers, the 3rd week of the month is where the low prints. Timing is everything when accumulating shares, the more shares you have the bigger the payout
wait for the retrace next week
Quick Question: I am rooting for the share price to fall even further because I plan on picking up more shares next week. That said, is there a danger of the stock falling so low it gets knocked off the NYSE?
I think it already dropped to .55 and survived. Just wondering the thoughts on this topic before I completely overload my portfolio with CEN. :)
I added more shares today and want more.
Will wait and try to time the low next week. Best guesses on what day that will occur?
Wow.
I am just looking at the chart for the first time. Had no idea how far this has fallen.
Gonna buy more.
What was the divvy when it as close to $20?
Gotcha.
Thanks Ernie.
My TDAmeritrade shows it as part of the summary page.
If you have any others you need let me know
Hey Ernie.
Thanks! Where do you find that information?

Like CEN all monthly divy payers vary, its best to go to their website IR to see their pattern, then you can mark your calendar watching for the low to surface.
Its all about the timing imo
10 cents would be fantastic. The stock would pay for itself in a year.
On what day does CEN make their divvy announcement each month? Or does it vary?
CEN afterhours $1.30

Ive never known a shell company to pay a dividend. That link will broaden your horizons. IMO CEN will reinstate their luscious .1042 cent dividend in a year or two. They need $60.00 a barrel oil to do it, so grabbing anything at these levels is a gift.
Still though a buck 20 stock paying .03 cents a month isnt such a bad deal. Remember the more you own the bigger the pay out.
In my experiance the best time to buy a monthly payer like CEN is within 3-4 days after the divy announcement, thats usually when the low shows up
GLTY
Hey Scottrader80,
I have spent an inordinate amount of time looking at shell companies. For some reason none of them ever pay a dividend!
lol
Thanks for the link. I'm definitely ready to broaden my horizons.
CEN along with thousands of other companies pay monthly dividends,
take a look, they (DD) have an entire section on MLP's like CEN that issue 1099's versus K-1's for tax purposes
https://dividenddetective.com/
I grabbed a small starter in CEN.
What a fascinating stock. I have never heard of a stock that pays out monthy divvy's.
Absolutely, CEN will continue to regain old territory as the world begins to settle down. Demand will be on the rise once this virus has found a vaccine aleviating these precautionary restrictions.
Loading here is a no brainer.
Lots of amazing deals still out there.
The OPEC terror is over, O&G will begin to resume its upward direction. I'd like to see CEN reinstate its .10 cent dividend, it wont happen overnight but they will eventually once their coffers are refilled. That'll push the sp back to the $8.00's at least.
Last .1042 cent dividend being paid March 26th. .03 cents per month then on out. Is a .50 cent stock worth a .03 cent dividend?
NAV sitting at $1.01. Currently trading at a 40% discount. The largest discount in the funds history.

Lots to load up on these days. Might be time for some option trading on a few things like......Oil!
CENs top holdings look to be solid companies. Unless the world switches to electric vehicles overnight O&G still rules.

What makes you think the 3 cent divvy will stay intact? It's a penny stock now!
I’m fine with the 3 cent divy. Just need the fund to survive. Getting very ugly.
You mean holders of CEN have now lost 90% of their money and will takes years if ever to recover?
Incredible blood bath here but in line with just about every position in the market. Oil is under $25.00 a barrel. CEN is paying .03 cents from here on out until things turn around. It always takes a long time before a company raises its dividend so who ever is holding, accept the fact that it will be years before CEN pays .10 cents again.
Not much left to see here! The carnage is overwhelming time to break down the tents and leave camp.
Probably a good idea to drag some twigs to cover the tracts to remind us not to return!
Y.I.K.E.S
10% under NAV and still a 20% divy even after the cut. Yes please! I’ll take 70,000 shares. CEN
Center Coast Brookfield MLP & Infrastructure Fund (NYSE:CEN) declares $0.03/share monthly dividend, a -71.2% decrease from prior dividend of $0.1042.
Forward yield 15.25%
Payable April 23; for shareholders of record April 15; ex-div April 14.
Officially cut dividend.03
I am salivating at these prices hoping to see a buck by the x divy date next week. WOW what bargains across the board. Oil is hovering in the $32.00's. Most oil companies need $40.00 a barrel to break even. This short term hiccup will end once people arent afraid to go outside from this virus scare. Chinese resturaunts are closing by the droves. The shorts must be reeling with excitement as the markets continue to sell off.
GMZ is off topic for this board
What makes you think they won't slash the dividend?
