My God you should look at psec for a divy play.
You just bought security.......every year you get a free share.......better than interest.
agree, bet the destruction of the Israeli embassy in Egypt causes the stock price to fall some more. First hint of Israel problems, the PPS goes to hell. Good time to buy next week.
The divy play from hell.....I love it.
S&P raises its long-term rating on Israel to A-plus
SEEKING ALPHA/MARKET CURRENTS 8:15 AM
S&P raises its long-term rating on Israel to A-plus, and affirms its rating on the nation's currency at AA-minus. The ratings agency cited a prosperous economy and debt reduction as positive factors, offset in part by a "sizable" public debt and tense relations with Palestinians.
Even if dividend remains at .66/qtr, which IMO, it won't(- I expect it to go back to $3.46 a year or much more,) that is still at today's PPS, a 12.1% dividend yield. Minus the 20% foreigner tax, it's still more than 9.6%.
Cellcom Israel Announces Independent Appraisal of Netvision Received
NETANYA, Israel, June 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE: CEL) (TASE: CEL) (hereinafter: the "Company"), announced today that following the previously reported negotiations with Netvision Ltd., or Netvision, for its merger with the Company's subsidiary, the Company received an appraisal of the fair market value of Netvision in connection with such merger, prepared by a reputable independent Israeli financial consulting firm nominated jointly by the Company and Netvision, or the appraiser. According to the appraisal, Netvision's fair market value as of March 31, 2011 is NIS 1,538,378 thousands. We can provide no assurance that we will enter into any transaction or that such transaction will be consummated.
For additional details on the proposed merger transaction with Netvision and the conditions for its consummation see the Company's most recent annual report on Form 20-F for the year ended December 31, 2010, under "Item 5. Operating Results - Overview - Recent Developments".

NetVision Ltd., Israel's largest Internet service provider (ISP),
MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 1997--NetVision Ltd., Israel's largest Internet service provider (ISP), has joined the AimQuest(TM)/GRIC(TM) Alliance to provide its home and business customers with global roaming and other Internet-based, value-added communication services.
Based in Haifa, Israel's center of high-technology, NetVision is the first GRIC member in Israel. NetVision's roaming service is available immediately.
AimQuest and its Global Reach Internet Connection(TM) (GRIC) Alliance of over 150 top Internet service providers and carriers offers affordably priced global roaming, fax, telephony and other Internet-based communication services through a high-performance TCP/IP network. The network covers more than 13 million dial-up subscribers and 20 million corporate users.
"Offering affordable roaming and other Internet services is critical to our customers, since most Israeli companies have a presence in other parts of the world," said Ruth Alon, president of NetVision. "Joining GRIC means we instantly have secure dial-in access points in dozens of countries."
"NetVision is our entry into the Middle East market," according to Dr. Hong Chen, founder, president and CEO of AimQuest Corporation. "Our business model has always been to grow as quickly as possible, offering dial-in capability from as many points on the globe as possible."
As part of the GRIC Alliance, NetVision customers are able to "roam" outside their regular service areas by accessing the points of presence (POPs) of other GRIC-member ISPs throughout the world. Much like a bank network, which allows a customer of one institution to use an ATM machine at another bank, being a member of GRIC allows users to transparently access the Internet when they are traveling outside the region covered by their home ISP, yet at local rates.
Customers simply dial the local telephone number of the GRIC-member ISP and log in as they normally would to access their local ISP. By using the Windows-based GRICDial(TM) phone book and dialer, which has all the GRIC POPs pre-programmed, users simply scroll and click to make their phone connections. Authentication, management and billing are all handled transparently, and users do not need any special software to use the system.
NetVision customers receive a single bill itemizing all roaming charges, regardless of which GRIC-member ISPs they may dial into. Customers also have local access to English-language support 24 hours a day from AimQuest/GRIC's customer support center.
The AimQuest/GRIC alliance offers Internet-based communications through more than 150 of the world's largest ISPs, telcos and technology companies. GRIC offers service to more than 13 million dial-up users and 20 million corporate customers, which represents 30 percent of all Internet users.

Hi Gregg-fancy meeting you here. Price on CEL dropped dramatically because the dividend dropped around 25% Payout on Oct 17 will be only $.66. Guess it's because of the merger they're paying for. I fully expect the next one will bounce back even higher.
good entry indeed
u r right it's not the $6 available a little while ago
but still a good price point for entry
how can u go wrong w this one
great divy play regardless , but can certainly be played for some extra jack
Alright, I finally bought 30 shares of CEL today. While it's not the lowest PPS it has seen lately, it seems like a decent entry range. I'll add more especially if it stays in this range or goes lower. GLTA.
