Investors may be trying to decide which way the stock market will shift over the next couple of quarters. Having a general idea based on research is one thing, but constantly trying to time the market may lead to negative portfolio performance. Of course, overall market downturns can be frustrating to everyone invested in shares. Being able to ride out the day to day volatility and make proper investing decisions based on solid stock examination, may help the investor secure profits down the line. Investors who spend too much time focusing on stocks that have already made a run may find themselves in a sticky situation if they get into the name to late. Just because a certain stock has been going up for a long time, it doesn’t mean that the momentum will be sustained into the future. Taking the time to find quality stocks instead of just looking at the hot stock of the day, may allow investors to keep thriving in the market.
CareView Communications Inc (CRVW) has a 14-day ATR of 0.01. The Average True Range is an investor tool used to measure stock volatility. The ATR is not used to figure out price direction, just to measure volatility. The ATR is an indicator developed by J. Welles Wilder. Wilder has developed multiple indicators that are still quite popular in today’s investing landscape. The general interpretation of the ATR is the higher the ATR value, the higher the volatility.
Currently, the 14-day ADX for CareView Communications Inc (CRVW) is sitting at 64.76. Generally speaking, an ADX value from 0-25 would indicate an absent or weak trend. A value of 25-50 would support a strong trend. A value of 50-75 would identify a very strong trend, and a value of 75-100 would lead to an extremely strong trend. ADX is used to gauge trend strength but not trend direction. Traders often add the Plus Directional Indicator (+DI) and Minus Directional Indicator (-DI) to identify the direction of a trend.
The RSI, or Relative Strength Index, is a widely used technical momentum indicator that compares price movement over time. The RSI was created by J. Welles Wilder who was striving to measure whether or not a stock was overbought or oversold. The RSI may be useful for spotting abnormal price activity and volatility. The RSI oscillates on a scale from 0 to 100. The normal reading of a stock will fall in the range of 30 to 70. A reading over 70 would indicate that the stock is overbought, and possibly overvalued. A reading under 30 may indicate that the stock is oversold, and possibly undervalued. After a recent check, the 14-day RSIfor CareView Communications Inc (CRVW) is currently at 27.72, the 7-day stands at 30.77, and the 3-day is sitting at 33.14.
Looking further at additional technical indicators we can see that the 14-day Commodity Channel Index (CCI) for CareView Communications Inc (CRVW) is sitting at -249.49. CCI is an indicator used in technical analysis that was designed by Donald Lambert. Although it was originally intended for commodity traders to help identify the start and finish of market trends, it is frequently used to analyze stocks as well. A CCI reading closer to +100 may indicate more buying (possibly overbought) and a reading closer to -100 may indicate more selling (possibly oversold).
Moving averages can help spot trends and price reversals. They may also be used to help find support or resistance levels. Moving averages are considered to be lagging indicators meaning that they confirm trends. A certain stock may be considered to be on an uptrend if trading above a moving average and the average is sloping upward. On the other side, a stock may be considered to be in a downtrend if trading below the moving average and sloping downward. Shares of CareView Communications Inc (CRVW) have a 7-day moving average of 0.05. Taking a glance at the relative strength indictor, we note that the 14-day RSI is currently at 27.72, the 7-day stands at 30.77, and the 3-day is sitting at 33.14.
One of the most famous sayings in the stock market is “buy low, sell high”. This may seem like an oversimplified statement, but there are many novice investors who often do the complete opposite. Many investors may be looking too closely at stocks that have been on the rise, and they might not be checking on the underlying fundamental data. They may be hoping to ride the wave higher, but may end up shaking their heads. On the flip side, many investors may hold onto stocks for far too long after they have slipped drastically. Waiting for a bounce that may never come can cause frustration and plenty of second guessing. Successful investors are typically able to locate stocks that are undervalued at a certain price. This may take a lot of practice and dedication, but it may do wonders for the health of the portfolio.

Careview Communications Inc. (OTCMKTS:CRVW)’s Shares Drawing Attention From Keen Investors
September 26, 2017 Nelson Research Staff
Careview Communications Inc. (OTCMKTS:CRVW) has been in the news after the price of the stock hit $0.059 at the conclusion of the most recent close. The stock is traded on OTC in the Medical sector and Medical Info Systems industry.
The mathematical calculation that represents the degree of change over time is known as “percentage change”. In finance, it serves many purposes, and is often used to represent the price change of a commodity.
Careview Communications Inc. (OTCMKTS:CRVW)’s Price Change % over the last week is 2.61%. It’s % Price Change over the previous month is -15.71% and previous three months is -42.72%. Finally, looking back over the past year-to-date, Careview Communications Inc. (OTCMKTS:CRVW)’s Price Change % is 13.46%.
Percentage change can be applied to any quantity that is measured over time any given time period. Say you are tracking the price of a stock. If the price increased, the formula [(New Price – Old Price)/Old Price] is applied and then take that number and multiply it by 100. If the price of a stock decreased, the formula [(Old Price – New Price)/Old Price] is applied then multiplied by 100. The formula can be used to track the prices of both individual commodities and large market listings, and also used to compare the values of different currencies. Balance sheets with comparative financial statements often will include prices of specific stocks at different time periods alongside the percentage change over the same periods of time.
Average Volume is the amount of securities traded in a day on average over a specific time period. Trading activity relates to the liquidity of a security. When average volume is high, the stock has high liquidity and can be therefore easily traded, while conversely, when the trading volume is low, the commodity will be less expensive as traders are not as willing to purchase it. Average volume has an effect on the price of the security. Careview Communications Inc. (OTCMKTS:CRVW) has seen 25676.3 shares trade hands on an average basis.
Careview Communications Inc. (OTCMKTS:CRVW)’s 52-Week High-Low Range Price % is 11.88. Countless factors affect a security’s price and, therefore, its range. Macroeconomic factors such as interest rates and the economic cycle significantly impact the price of securities over lengthy periods of time. A big recession, for example, can dramatically widen the price range equities as they plummet in price.
Considering that price volatility is equivalent to risk, a commodity’s trading range is a great indicator of risk. Conservative investors will gravitate towards securities with smaller price fluctuations as compared to securities with larger price swings, preferring to invest in relatively stable sectors such as health care, utilities, and telecommunications and avoiding high-beta sectors like commodities, technology, and financials.
A 52-week high/low is the highest and lowest share price that a stock has traded at during the previous year. Investors and traders consider the 52-week high or low as a crucial factor in determining a given stock’s current value while also predicting future price movements. When a commodity trades within its 52-week price range (the range that exists between the 52-week low and the 52-week high), investors usually show more interest as the price nears either the high or the low.
One of the more popular strategies used by traders is to buy when the price eclipses its 52-week high or to sell when the price drops below its 52-week low. The rationale involved with this strategy says that if the price breaks out either above or below the 52-week range, there is momentum enough to continue the price fluctuation in a positive direction. Careview Communications Inc. (OTCMKTS:CRVW)’s high over the last year was $0.2 while its low was $0.04.
Beta measures the volatility of a security in comparison to the market as a whole. The tendency of a security’s returns is to respond to swings in the market. For example, a beta of 1 means that the security’s price will move in lockstep with the market. A beta of less than 1 indicates that the security will be less volatile relative to the market. A beta of greater than 1 tells us that the security’s price will be more volatile than the market. Beta is an expression of the tradeoff between maximizing return and minimizing risk. Careview Communications Inc. (OTCMKTS:CRVW)’s Beta number is -0.06.
Outstanding Shares refers to all stocks currently held by all shareholders, including blocks held by institutional and insider investors, of a given company. Outstanding shares are shown on a company’s balance sheet as “Capital Stock.” The number of shares outstanding is used to calculate key metrics such as a company’s earnings per share (EPS), cash flow per share (CFPS) and its market cap. The number of outstanding shares is not static, as it can fluctuate greatly over time. Careview Communications Inc. (OTCMKTS:CRVW)’s number of shares outstanding is 139.38m.
Over-the-counter (OTC) or “off-exchange” trading is done directly between two parties, without an exchange acting as a middle man. Stock exchanges have the benefit of creating liquidity, mitigating credit risk, providing transparency, and keeps the current market price. An OTC trade, however, does not necessarily publish for the public.
OTC trading occurs with commodities, financial instruments, stocks, and derivatives. Products traded on the exchange must be standardized. Exchanged deliverables match a specific range of identity, quantity, and quality which is defined by an exchange and is identical to all other transactions of said product. This is a necessity in order for there to be transparency in the trading. OTC markets do not have this limitation. In OTC markets, contracts are bilateral (between only two parties), and each party could have credit risk concerns. The OTC derivative market is significant in the asset classes of interest rate, stocks, commodities, and foreign exchange.
In the U.S., over-the-counter trading is facilitated by market makers using inter-dealer quotation services like the OTC Link and the OTC Bulletin Board. The OTCBB licenses the services of OTC Link for their securities. Though rarely the case, exchange-listed stocks can be traded OTC on the third market. Most likely, however, OTC stocks are not listed nor traded on exchanges. Stocks quoted on the OTCBB must comply with certain limited SEC requirements. The SEC imposes more thorough reporting and financial requirements on other OTC stocks, specifically the OTCQX stocks. Other OTC stocks have no reporting requirements, such as “gray market” socks and Pink Sheet securities.
Some companies began trading as OTC stocks and then eventually upgraded to a listing on a fully regulated trading market, with Wal-Mart being one of the most famous examples. In 1972, with stores in five states and becoming the fastest company ever to earn over $1 billion, Wal-Mart (WMT) was finally listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) after trading OTC since 1968.
OTC derivatives can lead to significant risks, especially counterparty risk, which is the risk that a counterparty in a transaction will default prior to expiration of the trade and will fail to make the payments as required by the contract. However, there are many ways to limit this risk, such as controlling credit exposure with portfolio diversification, hedging, netting and collateralization.
OTC trading is a major part of the world of global finance. OTC derivatives markets are large, growing massively from 1980 through the year 2000. This expansion was driven by credit default swaps, foreign exchange instruments and interest rate products. The OTC derivatives markets rose throughout this period, totaling approximately $601 trillion by the end of 2010.

Cool, I am not alone LOL $CRVW
Any Reason why ? Seems to be an individual selling off their shares in lots of 5000 and 10000 at a time. Not a large amount of volume yet to really determine anything concrete.
Lot of volume here today, a whopping 6M of it was T Trades, usually an indicator of dilution from my experience. Company has a ton of cash on hand but with so much diluting going on not sure it's even worth considering.
MMs are scalping between tight bid.
That's what I'm thinking... Maybe today? Nice liquidity and will catch a few eyes.
Should go back to 7 cent in a day or two.
$700k+ trade today? Dang! I'm in at this level!
Might see a Form 4 filed tomorrow.
any idea what that was about
I think you calculated that wrong. It was .20.

The Insider buying transaction was reported by the company on Apr 13, 2016 to the Securities and Exchange Commission. The shares were purchased at $0.20 per share for a total value of $600,069.56 according the SEC Form 4 Filing."
Insider paid bought @.01972 ~ 3042949 million shares !!!!
I hit the submit by accident.
The company released news earlier this quarter that may be good for the company, but is it enough to make it profitable? They have $26mm in convertible notes and $91mm in accumulated deficit. That is pretty significant. I would be interested to see the notes when the annual audit comes out. I would be surprised if they did not receive a "Going-Concern" note.
Good question. The company released news earlier this year that
So why has this stock lost 50% and started to gain it back. I see nothing that would cause such great swings. What am I missing. Is it lack of interest in the stock?
This is an interesting play. It's on the future of healthcare. This company sets up to profit from hcapps. The system is good it has potential and the virtual bed alarms work which reduces falls. It's pretty easy to get a return on investment if your a medical facility.
Good question. I just started looking into this company and attempting to do some research. It appears they may have a good business model. However, it seems the revenue and expense models need some work. Their network costs are eating up all of the revenue and leaving nothing for operations.
You can go to the SEC (www.sec.gov and do an Edgar filings search) website and do a search or go to Careview from inside of iHub and click on "News" and the 10Q will be there.
I was looking at their website. It only shows the first quarter 2014.
Quarter ending June 30 has been filed. 3Q isn't complete.
