I think that shares are being sold due to the recent financing deal - and that's what is keeping the price down. We have multiple buys executed and then the price immediately drops. Looks like someone has a lot of shares to sell. If someone can shed some light on the financing (in layman terms, please) and whether selling would be a part of it, I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
That is a bargin in my book.
If you go back to march of 2004 we were over a $1.
Since then
FDA approvals done.
solid growth
revenue up.
new products have gone to market.
This company is much stronger today. JMHO
Bought some more CGCP today @.57 A bargain imo

Anybody still here.
Finally got approval
sorry guys, been swamped w/work and travel. i owe 2 of ya some more info/thoughts and will get to that by mid week next... and hanu, i try not to work but do on occasion. photography, it, qa, and microbio are my specialties so to speak, but i'd rather be in my canoe or watching the mkt. no wife yet, so i'm house cleaner and mom to the animals lol
I think now is the time to get into cgcp because they usually show good numbers in Q3 and Q4. The price is also coming out of a bottom. I'm usually pretty hard on them but have taken a few positions over the last few days.
B K
OT...Luck, can't keep up a CYGX conversation on this board.
Check out the CYGX board sometime. What do you do besides being a housewife?
hanu, this is a company that I wouldn't mind working for, and that is saying a lot. I think you are onto something good here... i just finished a photo shoot that has kept me busy all day n nite this week so i haven't been able to do diddly, but i will do a drive by and maybe even drop off a resume (for fun) and see if i can get a feel for anything. i'm still swamped w/post-production work, but i will try for friday or monday...
nick, i haven't had time to check on numbers, but i'd still say buy lol
give me a few more days guys sorry...
best of luck!!!
OT...Luck, you'll be doing yourself a big favor if you take a serious look at CYGX. The science is very difficult to grasp, but just an inkling of understanding will boggle your mind as to their potential. Several doctors here where I work own large #'s of shares, and a Nobel laureate next door has commented very favorably on their approach. STD's are only a small part of their repetoir. If they were flim-flam, they would not be publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals.
They're getting very clost to an IND for their Herpes treatment(only 1/4 of the US population has it), and the sepsis IND will come a few months later. The CYGX board is very good here. Go back to the early posts of a year ago for some good educational stuff.
Thanks for your opinion.
I started a position with 5000 shares. They were very hard to buy.
I am still doing research on her.
hey Hanu, i'm in houston...about 5 miles from CYGX. want me to swing by lol. i will regardless! need to see what's up w/them...made a small fortune on IPSU's bankruptcy (that was a houston texas give-me). give me a few days as i have lots on my plate right now, but look 4 info...very interesting STD outlook, but gotta hate the 'against all odds' aspect. could still be a steal, and i might just have to toss a few bucks that way too!
best of luck!!!
pre-lim: why i like DYX...
(i wish i had more more funds 4 med tech)
insiders r buying!!!
new products just out/approved!!!
they must b into animal testing (vets) looking at the products--should b good mkt & $
near annual low/nice annual high
it's med tech...
forward split in 00
stock cycles nicely--should have been buyin n sellin 4 profit and/or collecting shares over the last few yrs lol--still early enough 4 a good price!
FE-2 workstation ROCKS!!! (i wanna play with it lol)
concentrater tubes r cool 2...
it's another 'China' buy
nice sized, intl. company!
questions:
is there much competition 4 their electrophoresis systems (must b some)
will it fall off the AMEX
don't know enough about European mkt...
need to see some numbers (i'll check them soon)
very interesting company...might have to sell a few k shares of cgcp (maybe). they got there hands in a lot of cookie jars, some pretty cool toys, and lots of basic stock to sell that should help them tow the bottom line through rough times (like these lol). they are still on the AMEX! i would buy 2day if i had some cash! big company, rough times, WILL survive, WILL profit...what else is there LT? short term, it could (mayb) drop a little??? buy LT 4 sure...
let me check some numbers and get back 2 ya w/more.
best of luck!!!
btw, ya'll have jumped ship on a stock that is about to turn a profit...cgcp don't need PMR (except to hit $5). i know we're down today again, but watch, we will surpass plc's pps shortly. then it's off to the profit races lol!
best of luck!!!
hey all, finally back from vacation :( i'll check out the stock and let ya know if i find anything interesting...
best of luck!!!
Thank you but I am looking for a realistic gamble.
CYGX is like putting $100 on power ball lottery
I will check it out.
None of my business, but if you want a biotech that has huge potential, check out CYGX.
Luck
If you have the chance ?
I am not the best at digging up info on penny stocks.
I am currently doing DD on A Bio tech selling for .49 DYX.
I like everything I read but can't get a complete picture.
I would never post like this on any other board but considering we get no traffic over here.
Let me Know what you think
Thanks
I too have sold my shares, very close to where I bought them at. Once the payment issues with TMR & MC are ironed out, the stock should start to move up, but PMR is probably dead in the water for at least a year, probably more. Mason never answered my question as to what issues were unresolved re TMR and medicare.
It looks like confirmation of what we all have said, a clash of personalities.
They meet with the FDA and announce the agreement, and the next day they announce a new Dr. in charge.
The FDA could have and should have approved PMR in March, but they didn't. And, other than rumors of personal attacks by the FDA panel against Quinn, there was no reasoning.
Anyone who has invested in the company has done the DD on PMR and can see that, at the very least, it merits a preliminary market approval.
I think Quinn hoped he could get around the board members that gave him the trouble, but has resigned himself to the fact that he won't be able to.
Quinn's penance . . . Hire the FDA approved Dr., pay him, and wait another year at minimum.
Most know I don't hold this on anymore, but I still believe it is a good co. and good tech..
AIMHO ROTFLOL
Good Trading,
Melvil4
From today's PR, it looks like quite a long time before PMR gets FDA approval. A whole new study sounds like a couple of years. Any thoughts?
cgcp posts are so nice compared to some of the other boards :) and TMR is/was(???) only for patients w/o any other available options. that will change over time. and as for rev. gen. from packs, that is why cgcp reorg'd last yr, and why plc had to team up w/edwards.
what i don't understand is how cgcp can still be sellin for less then plc even though ALL numbers (as well as quality/brand) point towards cgcp... unless the MMs hate me, and curse my every post :) maybe if i stop talking trash they will bring us backup!
best of luck!
ps. not gonna be here much til the end of the month--have fun!
I think the problem is that there is a very narrowly defined indication for reimbursable use of TMR, and that the current hearings are to expand it's use. We ran into a similar situation in orthopedics when the blood thinner enoxaparin came out...it's indications were initially narrowly defined.
There is obviously a roadblock for TMR being put to widespread use; otherwise why would hospitals defer purchasing during this ongoing review process?
Here's what I got from Michael Mason. It appears to me to contradict what you're saying:
PMR is not cleared in the United States. The Company has been working with
the FDA in an "interactive review" process. They continue to provide data
to the FDA in an effort to get this cleared. They still reserve the right
to an alternative dispute resolution hearing, but at this point do not want
to be in an adversarial relationship with the FDA.
The recent hearings concerned reimbursement for the TMR procedure which is
approved by the FDA and in use as you know, and has nothing to do with the
PMR situation. The TMR procedure has been gaining ground, and gaining the
support of some very good surgeons across the US. I hope you saw the press
release announcing that Johns Hopkins has adopted the procedure; that is
certainly a nice endorsement.
If you have any questions, feel free to call.

If TMR reimbursement is a done deal, why are they still holding hearings on it?
From CGCP's July 16th release:
>>Medicare has covered TMR since 1999 for patients with severe angina who do not respond to standard medical therapy. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the CardioGenesis TMR system in 1999.<<
The review was about the clinical evidence available for BOTH TMR and PMR. Read CGCPs news release of July 16th and you'll better understand. PLC's also sheds light on what that meeting was and what it actually dealt with. If this committee felt that the clinical evidence was insufficient they, I believe from reading the press releases, would have recommended removing reimbursement.
Kahuna, read or re-read paragraph 6 of today's PR. It is very clear that there is no MC reimbursement yet for TMR. I was also told this by the company's investor relations person yesterday. Are you confusing "reviewing" TMR & PMR with approving it? PMR doesn't even have FDA approval yet. That has to come first. This stock will move much higher when MC ok's reimbursement. Until then, angina will be managed by stents, angioplasty, and medications for the vast majority of sufferers. A TMR with a one night stay would probably cost around $15K, maybe more. Very few patients can afford this unless they can get it done as part of a study.
There currently is Medicare reimbursement for TMR thus no "pop" will be forthcoming. The CMS Panel that reviewed TMR also reviewed PMR. The Agenda is available on the Federal Register Website. Saying that PMR was not a part of the meeting is an obvious mistake.
wow, two minutes til the close and suddenly the MMs reduce the spread to .02. they must want to be my chums!!! what a bunch of sweet young men. what a bunch of crock!!!
in fact i think the MMs lost their ass betting against cgcp (prefering plc) and are now having to cover their asses with this huge spread they keep forcing on the people... what a bunch of hacks!!! and watch, as soon as they get enough cheap shares, they will bump us up quickly for their own good...
no, i think the MMs got caught with their pantalones down on this one folks...
best of luck!!!
Medicare approval is very powerful.
Short but relevant story.
A family friend years ago sold the sit down seat that rides older folk up the stairs. He sold and installed 5 units per month. The year after medicare started paying for the lift his sales jumped to 40 per month.
Not the same thing but it shows how powerful the money in medicare can be.
hanu, i suppose you could be correct but how is PLC running up to .90/share on lesser numbers. and why do the MMs keep implimenting this huge spread on the bid and ask? sounds to me like someone knows the truth, and is just delaying it as long as possible...
and if cgcp is about to turn a profit (in 04) wouldn't the MMs have to see that and start raising the price in anticipation? oh i suppose they could hold out and give us a big pop at the end but i doubt cgcp will stay down that long. especially while our main competition is already nearing the $1 mark again. no, i still say we are up from here.
best of luck!!!
It's obvious to me now that this stock will tread water until they get MC reimbursement approval for TMR. Until then, they're going to sell relatively few machines, since few individuals can afford to pay for the procedure, and I doubt many commercial carriers will cover it either. I have a hunch the MC issue will be resolved in the next 3-4 months. Should get a very good pop when that happens. Then when PMR gets FDA approval, we should also get a good boost, because MC coverage of that should follow easily, given that it's a cheaper procedure (no inpatient stay).
well those sales figures were fairly boring...but at least it looks like we are on the way to a profitable year and we continue to kick PLCs butt. i still can't figure out how the MMs charge more for PLC when they continue to lose ground and we continue to grow towards profitability. there has to be a pps lead shift here some time soon. there is no way PLC is enherantly more valuable than CGCP. NO WAY!!!
best of luck!!!
Nick, thanks. Here's the response I got from Michael Mason:

tmr was approved in 99, but pmr is forthcoming...same basic procedure, so will only be a matter of time. but i also believe that management is prepared for not having pmr approval, so they will still have profitable qtr's without approval, and that will give us a pos. eps finally...
best of luck!!!
PMR Approval
Go back to post #106 and read that one and the next 10 or so.
I'm not thoroughly informed about the current approval status. I thought everything had received FDA approval, but we were waiting for Medicare reimbursement approval. Please clarify.
IMO 2nd quarter numbers will be good. Reasearch and development costs will not drag down earnings. ( as they have in the past).
Revenue should be higher.
Our main problem is we are staying stagnant with out FDA approval.
Future growth and revenue hinges on that news.
We will see on the 3rd.
the MMs are raising the bar (ask) every day!!! so if the numbers are good, you could be right. that would help my portfolio sooo much--i just might have so sell a few hundred shares just to have some fun :) have a great weekend!
best of luck!!!
I did get my fill the next day. I'm looking for $1 to $1.20
by Tuesday, assuming 2nd Q numbers are good. Good luck and good weekend.
hanu, sorry you didn't fill but i'm glad they aren't selling easy. what was with that almost 10% spread on the 27th? the MMs musta thunk i was ready to unload some shares :) they do have a vendeta (sp?) against me though. every time i boost, they bash :) i still say CGCP will out pps PLC shortly...
best of luck!!!
I think a pre-anouncement such as today's is usually interpreted as "good news coming", especially for a BB company. I tried to buy more @ .68 a half hour before the close, but it wouldn't fill. Will try again tomorrow.
hanu, i think it's a good bet that they will remain profitable from now on, with few exceptions...and i'd say that even if we weren't up 20% today!!! but i could be wrong :) even though we are about to maintain a pps lead over PLC from now on :) :) :)
numbers r due out before mkt opens on Aug. 3rd!!! funny how we bump 20% on that news without numbers! do MMs have access to insider info? or where they always in the know, and just trying to make grandma sell??? what a scam either way :) hold on tight while we climb up from here!!!
best of luck!!!
