Canadian Arrow acquires former Inco claims adjacent to Alexo Nickel Project -
SUDBURY, ON, Feb. 6, 2012 /CNW/ - Canadian Arrow Mines, Ltd. (CRO: TSX-V) (the "Company") is pleased to report it has concluded a Purchase and Sale Agreement (the "Agreement") to acquire 100% undivided interest in 6 (six) freehold patent and surface mining rights comprising 98 hectares (the "Property") of favourably prospective ground adjacent to its Alexo and Kelex nickel mines located in the Timmins nickel belt in Northeastern Ontario.
The patents are being acquired from a company held by Mr. J. Kevin Filo of Timmins, Ontario. Previously the claims were held since 1931 by Inco Limited until 2006 at which time they were acquired by Mr. Filo's company. The claims are 1 km south of Canadian Arrow's Kelex and Alexo mines which contain NI 43-101 compliant indicated resources of 473,000 tonnes averaging 0.96% nickel. The mines are slated for production re-start in early 2012.
Mr. Kim Tyler, President of the Company said, "The Company is pleased to consolidate its land position as it prepares for resumed production at Kelex and Alexo. The Company believes that the exploration potential for further resources is exemplified by the outstanding success of the 2010-2011drill program whereby a small amount of diamond drilling (2,802 metres) increased the previous resource estimate by 95% (4,100,000 lbs of indicated nickel resource). The area is extremely prospective for similar success and the recent acquisition will enhance our prospects. We are anxious to resume exploration but our immediate focus remains on production"
Previous airborne electromagnetic survey work on the acquired ground completed by Inco between 1947 and 1951 detected several geophysical conductors in the vicinity including one, identified as #131, specifically located on the Property. In 1991 a ground horizontal loop electromagnetic survey confirmed the presence of conductor #131. No work has since been done to explore the conductor.
The terms of the agreement include the issuance of 150,000 common shares in the capital stock of the Company in exchange for 100% undivided interest in the properties. The properties are subject to a 1% retained net smelter royalty.
Kelex Production Update:
Contractors have been engaged to install piping for de-watering the pits and mining contract bids are currently being received. Forthcoming developments including production start-up timelines will be disclosed as contract commitments and availability are finalized. The Company plans to resume production on its past producing Alexo and Kelex mines containing NI 43-101 indicated resources of 9.9M lbs of nickel within 473,000 tonnes averaging 0.96% nickel. Cash flow from Alexo operations is intended to finance the development of the Company's flagship Kenbridge nickel project. Kenbridge contains 98M lbs of nickel and 52M lbs of copper within 7.1M tonnes grading 0.62% Ni and 0.33% Cu of NI 43-101 of open pit and underground measured and indicated resources.
The Alexo and Kelex mines have historically produced 87,000 tonnes averaging 3.06% nickel from both underground and open pit mining. Exploration potential exists along strike and at depth on both zones.
The information in this release was prepared under the direction of Mr. R. Kim Tyler, P. Geo., President of the Company, a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101.

Timmins Projects | Alexo and Kelex
Canadian Arrow's Timmins Projects are comprised of its wholly owned past producing Alexo and Kelex deposits located 50 km east of Timmins, Ontario. The Company temporarily halted production due to low nickel prices in 2005 to review operating alternatives. Nickel prices have more than doubled since and attractive operating opportunities have recently developed that further enhance the deposits’ economics.
Between 2004 and 2005 the Company produced 30,138 tonnes of ore averaging 1.93% nickel containing 1.3M lbs of nickel from open pit mining of the Alexo and Kelex zones. At the time the only alternative for the Company was direct shipment of unprocessed ore about 350 km to the Xstrata Nickel Strathcona mill located near Sudbury, Ontario. The Company is currently reviewing economic alternatives to direct shipping that have developed in recent months.
The Alexo property is historically reported to have additionally produced 57,000 tons at 3.6% nickel for a total of 4.5M lbs of contained nickel.
The deposits are classified as Kambalda-style named after similar type-deposits occurring in Western Australia. The Alexo and Kelex deposits are composed of massive to semi-massive nickel sulphide accumulations inhabiting basal embayments along the footwalls of steeply dipping komatiitic ultramafic volcanic flows. The massive, semi-massive sulphides are overlain by stringer, net-textured, blebby and lower grade disseminated sulphide haloes extending upwards and away from the contact. The flows contact with intermediate volcanic country rocks. Other komatiitic hosted nickel sulphide deposits and occurrences in the area include the Redstone, McWatters, Hart, Langmuir 1 and 2, and Texmont.
A total 12,710 metres of drilling in 132 holes were completed in 2004-05 on the sulphide mineralization that extends off the known previous workings. The drilling was never completely evaluated for resource potential. An independent qualified consultant has been commissioned to complete NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimates on the deposits.
The project remains permitted. Infrastructure including water treatment facilities remain in place as do a closure plan and a closure bond.

Significant Alexo/Kelex Drill Results
Alexo Main:
Mineralization extending 200 metres beyond the Alexo mine workings to the east remains open and unexploited. Mineralization at Alexo Main is drilled on tight 15m section spacings and is continuous over 100m of strike east of the previous pit workings to section 1629E. Alexo is further enhanced by significant copper, cobalt, platinum and palladium values.

Welcome To Canadian Arrow Mines
Canadian Arrow Mines, Ltd. (CRO-TSXV) is an experienced exploration and mine operating team that is focused on acquiring and developing economically viable nickel-copper sulphide deposits near existing infrastructure.
It is developing two advanced nickel/copper mining projects located in Ontario, Canada. Its principal asset is the Kenbridge Project near the town of Kenora, Ontario. Kenbridge is a nickel-copper sulphide deposit containing over 44,000 tonnes of nickel in the measured & indicated classes, (Sedar, Aug. 19, 2008), as follows:
Measured Resource: 3,546,000 tonnes grading 0.45% nickel, 0.24% copper, 0.015% cobalt.
Indicated Resource: 3,593,000 tonnes grading 0.79% nickel, 0.42% copper, 0.018% cobalt.
The deposit remains open in three directions, is equipped with a 620 m shaft and has never been mined. A Preliminary Economic Assessment completed in 2008 returned robust project economics and operating costs, including a net present value of C$253M and cash costs of US$3.47/lb of nickel net of copper credits. The company's plans for Kenbridge include advancing the project though to feasibility and exploring the open mineralization at depth. In addition, Canadian Arrow is investigating several prospective nickel-copper exploration targets near Kenbridge with the goal of identifying near surface mineralization that could be processed at the Kenbridge operation.
The Company also owns the past producing Alexo and Kelex mines located in the east Abitibi nickel district east of Timmins Ontario. The Alexo and Kelex mines historically produced over 87,000 tonnes at 3.06% nickel and were closed down due to low metal prices despite remaining reserves potential. The mines remain permitted and are under review for a rapid re-start of production.

Canadian Arrow Mines Ltd. - Kenbridge Nickel-Copper project -
open pit potential defined over 250 metres of strike length
Wednesday September 12, 10:49 am ET
SUDBURY, ON, Sept. 12 /CNW/ -
Canadian Arrow Mines, Ltd. -
(CRO: TSX-V) the Company reports that shallow drilling
along 30 metre spaced sections has now delineated the
near surface, open pit accessible portion of -
the Kenbridge -
Ni-Cu deposit along a minimum strike length of 250 metres.
The extent of the near surface mineralization was not
evaluated by previous operators.
CRO has received assay data for 20 drill holes
(KB-07-40 through to KB-07-59).
The assay results confirm the continuity of two shallow
mineralized zones (East and West) with grade and widths
amenable to open pit extraction.
Diamond drilling continues to delineate the open pit zones
beyond the limits of the current strike extent and down
to 150 metre vertical level.
New highlights include:
- 0.92% Ni, 0.44% Cu over 12.3 metres in drill hole KB-07-57
- 0.61% Ni, 0.28% Cu over 25.55 metres in drill hole KB-07-51
- 0.73% Ni, 0.47% Cu over 16.35 metres (West Zone) and 0.71% Ni,
0.29% Cu over 12.8 metres (East Zone) metres in drill hole KB-07-43
- 0.41% Ni, 0.214% Cu over 63.5 metres in drill hole KB-07-42
- 0.60% Ni, 0.15% Cu over 14.4 metres in drill hole KB-07-41
Todd Keast, P.Geo., Vice President of Exploration for Canadian Arrow Mines commented, "The exploration program has accelerated with the addition of a second diamond drill rig, as well as surface stripping, mapping and channel sampling. We now have a very good idea on the geometry of the deposit and the controls on mineralization necessary for the evaluation of the open pit component of the project. Looking ahead over the next two months the drilling program will begin to focus on the underground portions of the deposit with deeper drilling planned. We currently have a large backlog of samples at the lab and are working to get these samples through the system and into our database. The assays we've reported to date represent 38 of the 100 drill holes that CRO has drilled on the Kenbridge deposit. The data we gather from this drilling program will be used to complete an updated mineral resource which will be the basis for our Kenbridge Scoping Study which we are planning on releasing later this fall."
