Maybe in the real world but not in the CNBC contest. It's OTC and doesn't have a high enough cap. I will look at it for a penny play though.
Thanks
OK- so I think it's best for me to now focus on one great week for the weekly challenge to gain a shot into the finals.
I wish our top 1% players the best here, but I imagine I will be up one week and down the next from here on out.
Hopefully next year it will allow trades during the day.
The folks here should be so proud. I don't know the exact number, but I believe there are over 400,000 people (or alias)
in this contest.
Getting closing costs every day has proved to be the challenge of the challenge, imho. GLTY!!

I sent a few recommendation e-mails to CNBC about next year maybe the possibility of making the contest with a day trading plattform. Get a major sponsor behind it to use it's trading software...It would be great to bounce in and out of stocks in course of the day....also be able to short sell.
glty, that leaderboard nuts right now...omg lol
I've played every position with all eggs, fwiw.
I have a secret weapon stock this week for this contest....I have all the eggs in one basket !!! Looking for 40% FROM IT IN 3 WEEKS....I hope !!! I also own it in real life....tiny position though.

'Squawk Box' Trial Canceled Wed After Ex-Broker Arrested
Last Update: 3/29/2007 7:34:21 AM
By Chad Bray
Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
(This article was originally published Wednesday)
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Timothy O'Connell, a former Merrill Lynch & Co. (MER) stock
broker on trial in federal court in Brooklyn for allegedly taking bribes to
provide improper access to the firm's "squawk box," was arrested Wednesday on
state charges in connection with a $30 million online gambling ring in Queens.
The trial, before U.S. District Judge I. Leo Glasser in Brooklyn, was canceled
Wednesday as a result of O'Connell's arrest, said Robert Nardoza, a spokesman for
the U.S. Attorney's office in Brooklyn. The trial is expected to resume Thursday.
Mildred Whalen, a public defender representing O'Connell in the federal case,
didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment late Wednesday.
O'Connell, a former broker in Merrill Lynch's Garden City, N.Y., office, was
charged Wednesday with enterprise corruption, several counts of promoting
gambling in the first degree and conspiracy in the fifth degree, said Kevin R.
Ryan, a spokesman for Queens County District Attorney Richard A. Brown.
Seventeen people, including two former New York City police officers, a law firm
secretary, a postal worker and a sanitation worker, have been charged in the
matter, Ryan said. Sixteen have been arrested and one is still being sought, he
said.
According to an indictment, O'Connell, 42 years old, allegedly worked as an
agent/runner for the ring, recruiting new bettors, collecting gambling losses and
paying out winnings.
The gambling operation allegedly took more than $30 million in wagers on a
variety of sporting events, including football, baseball and horse racing,
between May 2006 and this March, state prosecutors said.
The bookmaking operation was allegedly run out of a Long Island City strip club
and a Jackson Heights restaurant, with a nontraditional wire room in Costa Rica,
state prosecutors said. Bets were placed by calling a toll-free telephone number
or through the Internet.
The offshore wire room and Web site were used in an effort to evade law
enforcement detection, prosecutors said.
O'Connell was arraigned in state court in Queens late Wednesday and released on
his own recognizance into the custody of U.S. postal inspectors. Judge Glasser
issued a bench warrant for O'Connell's arrest after he didn't appear in court
Wednesday.
Nardoza, the U.S. Attorney's spokesman, said O'Connell will remain in custody
overnight and will appear before Judge Glasser on Thursday morning.
Three ex-securities brokers, including O'Connell, and four former executives at
day-trading firm A.B. Watley Inc. have been accused of engaging in a scheme to
misuse information broadcast over brokerage firm squawk boxes to improperly jump
ahead of stock orders by large institutional investors between January 2002 and
February 2004. Watley allegedly bribed the brokers with cash or by engaging in
so-called "wash trades" - trades made between two brokerage accounts simply to
generate a commission.
They face a variety of charges, including conspiracy, securities fraud, witness
tampering and making false statements. They have denied wrongdoing.
The ex-brokers on trial are O'Connell; Kenneth E. Mahaffy Jr., a former broker at
Merrill Lynch and Citigroup Inc.'s (C) Smith Barney unit who worked with
O'Connell at one time; and David G. Ghysels Jr., a former Lehman Brothers Inc.
(LEH) broker in Palm Beach, Fla.
The former A.B. Watley executives accused of wrongdoing are Robert F. Malin, the
firm's president; Linus Nwaigwe, A.B. Watley's director of compliance; Michael A.
Picone, the company's one-time chief operating officer; and Keevin H. Leonard,
who supervised and trained the firm's day traders.
Malin and Nwaigwe continue to work at A.B. Watley Group Inc. (ABWG), the
broker-dealer's holding company. Watley Group continues to operate an online
broker-dealer.

Nice job. I got back under 200 after having a slow gain on Wed and Thursday. It's nice to see that the top 100 is not too far away. I wish they would show certain level values (ie 50, 100, 250, 500) That way you could at least know how much you're actually behind.
