MINNEAPOLIS, July 29, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc. (BWLD) (Nasdaq:BWLD) announced today financial results for the second quarter ended June 29, 2014. Highlights for the second quarter versus the same period a year ago were:
• Total revenue increased 20.0% to $366.0 million
• Company-owned restaurant sales grew 20.2% to $343.1 million
• Same-store sales increased 7.7% at company-owned restaurants and 6.5% at franchised restaurants
• Net earnings increased 43.8% to $23.7 million from $16.5 million, and earnings per diluted share increased 42.0% to $1.25 from $0.88

Having an inside view of a public company i.e. being an employe with perspective can be a helpful to yourself and others. Hawkeye_tt, thank you for sharing. Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. (BWLD) I believe will have a difficult time getting their foot in the door of the pizzeria business. Pizza Rev could work because it's different from other pizza competitors, but I wouldn't guarantee it will be successful. Pizza Rev reminds me of the Qdoba subsidiary of Jack in the Box, Inc. (JACK) to the Taco Bell subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc. (YUM). It seems that (BWLD) are really trying to grow into this market. I see (BWLD) has 15 stores scheduled to open.

This chain is expanding into small towns in Missouri. Freakin MO. This restaurant is poised to do very well in the next few months yet nobody is talking about it. And I've been a patron of their food for over 15 years and they've never disappointed. I've had a lot of fun eating wings and drinking at their restaurants. These guys rock. Come on people talk about this restaurant.

I seriously can't understand why investors aren't talking about this stock. It has great growth potential. They're a regional company that has so much room for growth and the kick butt during the sports seasons. I love the place and if the nearest location weren't 80 miles from me I'd probably frequent them more often. Their wings are soooooo much better than Hooters. And they have tons of different kinds of sauces and their beer is great. Someone please challenge me on this and honestly try to knock this stock. Go BW3s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc. Announces Fourth Quarter Earnings per Share of $0.55 and Annual Net Earnings Growth of Over 25% for 2010

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb 08, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc. (NASDAQ: BWLD), announced today financial results for the fourth quarter ended December 26, 2010. Highlights for the fourth quarter versus the same period a year ago were:

* Total revenue increased 13.1% to $163.9 million
* Company-owned restaurant sales grew 13.3% to $148.7 million
* Same-store sales decreased 0.3% at company-owned restaurants and 1.1% at franchised restaurants
* Net earnings increased 22.0% to $10.2 million from $8.3 million, and earnings per diluted share increased 19.6% to $0.55 from $0.46

Sally Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "The fourth quarter completed another successful year for Buffalo Wild Wings. We increased our brand presence with 80 additional restaurants across the United States, and our system-wide sales topped $1.7 billion! We delivered earnings per diluted share of $0.55 to our shareholders in the fourth quarter and accomplished net earnings growth of over 25% for the year."

Total revenue increased 13.1% to $163.9 million in the fourth quarter compared to $145.0 million in the fourth quarter of 2009. Company-owned restaurant sales for the quarter increased 13.3% over the same period in 2009, to $148.7 million, mainly the result of 27 additional company-owned restaurants at the end of fourth quarter 2010 relative to the same period in 2009. Same-store sales at company-owned locations for the fourth quarter decreased 0.3%. Franchise royalties and fees increased 10.3% to $15.2 million versus $13.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2009. This increase is attributed to 53 additional franchised restaurants at the end of the period versus a year ago, partially offset by a franchised same-store sales decrease of 1.1%.

Average weekly sales for company-owned restaurants were $45,595 for the fourth quarter of 2010 compared to $44,583 for the same quarter last year, a 2.3% increase. Franchised restaurants averaged $49,837 for the period versus $50,115 in the fourth quarter a year ago, a 0.6% decrease.

For the fourth quarter, net earnings increased 22.0% to $10.2 million versus $8.3 million in the fourth quarter of 2009. Earnings per diluted share were $0.55, as compared to fourth quarter 2009 earnings per diluted share of $0.46.

2011 Outlook

Ms. Smith remarked, "We're just coming off the excitement of Super Bowl Sunday, and our same-store sales for the first six weeks of 2011 are strong at 3.8% in company-owned and 1.5% at franchised locations. As sports fans turn their focus to basketball, we'll increase our media presence with attention-getting programming that supports our Home Court Advantage(TM) campaign. In our restaurants, our Team Members are dedicated to delivering an exceptional 'courtside' experience to our Guests."

Ms. Smith concluded, "2011 is another year of growth for Buffalo Wild Wings. We expect to open more than 100 new restaurants, including our first units in Canada, and reach our goal of 13% unit growth for the year. With our strategic emphasis on the core elements that have built our success: wings, beer, and sports, and our proven track record of results, we are confident in our ability to achieve our net earnings goal of over 18% growth for 2011."

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb 03, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc. (NASDAQ: BWLD), announced today that James M. Schmidt has been appointed to the newly-created position of Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. In his new role, Mr. Schmidt will be responsible for management of the day-to-day operations of the business, reporting to Sally Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Schmidt has been with Buffalo Wild Wings since April 2002 and most recently served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel. He also served on Buffalo Wild Wings' Board of Directors from 1994 to 2003.

Ms. Smith stated: "Jim is a strong leader with a deep understanding of the Buffalo Wild Wings organization. Don't Disappoint on a Day Like This

I wouldn't want to report earnings on a day like this, especially if the news is bad. Just ask Buffalo Wild Wings . Its quarterly numbers were good, but when the company stated that April sales were soft (or below expectations), the shares tanked. The stock is getting hammered after hours -- currently sitting under $40.50. I am adding a bit more here, and my average will be around $41.50 a share. I am fine with holding shares there, and may buy puts on the open to limit my downside risk. The stock carries a monstrous 23% short interest and has nearly $3 a share in cash. At the current after-hours price, the stock will be trading with a very reasonable forward P/E of 20 for the full year, while the company has said that 20% growth is still achievable for this year.
