EURUSD - Rejects Lower Level Prices With Eyes On The Upside

EURUSD - The pair closed higher on a correction the past week. This development has left EUR threatening further upside pressure. On the down, support lies at the 1.0950 level where a violation will aim at the 1.0900 level. A break of here will aim at the 1.0850 level. Conversely, on the upside, resistance comes in at 1.1000 level with a cut through here opening the door for more upside towards the 1.1050 level. Further up, resistance lies at the 1.1100 level where a break will expose the 1.1150 level. All in all, EURUSD faces a recovery threat in the new week.

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral for consolidation above 1.0850 temporary low. Upside of recovery should be limited by 1.1057 resistance and bring fall resumption. As noted before, rebound from 1.0517 should have completed at 1.1615. Below 1.0821/50 support zone will pave the way for retesting 1.0517 low.

In the bigger picture, overall price actions from 1.6039 long term top is viewed as a corrective pattern with fall from 1.3993 as the third leg. Price actions from 1.0461 are viewed as consolidation pattern to fall from 1.3993. Break of 1.0461 will extend the decline from 1.3993. On the upside, break of 1.2042 support turned resistance is needed to be the first sign of trend reversal. Otherwise, we'll stay bearish and expect a new low below 1.0461 at a later stage.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD's fall accelerated to as low as 1.2919 last week, just missed 161.8% projection of 1.3993 to 1.3502 from 1.3700 at 1.2906. A temporary low as in place and initial bias is neutral this week for some consolidations. Upside of recovery should be limited by 1.3159 resistance and bring another decline. Break of 1.2906 will target 1.2755 key support level next.

In the bigger picture, overall price actions from 1.6039 long term top is viewed as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.3993 is tentatively viewed as the third leg of such pattern. Break of 1.2755 support will pave the way from 1.1875 low and below. Even in case of a rebound, we'll stay bearish before firm break of 55 days EMA (now at 1.3366).

In the long term picture, EUR/USD turned into a long term consolidation pattern since reaching 1.6039 in 2008. Such consolidation is still in progress. And break of 1.2042 will likely pave the way to 61.8% retracement of 0.8223 to 1.6039 at 1.1209. Before that, EUR/USD would continue to engage in sideway trading between 1.1875 and 1.5143 in medium term.
