Check out legislation 360 West Virginia. It’s devastating for natural gas companies. Rightfully so beings I have experience in dealing with them before and after that legislation passed in favor of land owners. I announce this many months ago on this board when this was $7-$8 I believe. I would invest in the land not the company. Until the natural gas companies get people in office in favor of screwing over land owners, this PPS will adjust accordingly as it has shown.

Stifel analyst Jane Trotsenko said investors could be inclined to short Antero Resources (AR) and Range Resources ( RRC ) given that Mt. Belvieu, Texas NGL prices are down 15% per barrel quarter-over-quarter. However, the analyst, who is projecting a production beat and "very healthy natural gas price realizations" from Antero thinks short-selling the stock into the earnings "could be quite risky," she tells investors in a research note. Antero also plans to update guidance with its Q2 report, "which makes this quarter particularly tricky," added Trotsenko, who keeps a Buy rating on the stock

Been stopped out of AR more than once the past few months but here at 2.85 I am trying again....this is ridiculous dont see any signals they could go bankrupt. Looks like the shorts have been right so far along with the rest of the market but golly gee want to hold this long term along with others!

Have a small basket of energies holding for the long term including AR, RRC, GPOR, HAL, CRZO, PE. Have some larger caps in energies as well but not a lot just being selective and building positions.

High stakes mergers and acquisitions may be the hot news in energy these days, but Goldman Sachs analyst Brian Singer found two under-the-radar drillers that he thinks could be smart investments.

Singer wrote in a note on Thursday that natural-gas-focused drillers EQT (ticker: EQT) and Antero Resources (AR) are well-positioned to rise because of low valuations and smart cash management. Antero posted better-than-expected earnings after the market closed on Wednesday, but the stock fell more than 3% on Thursday.

Singer notes that drillers have been particularly focused on conserving cash and paying off debt -- two attributes that appeal to investors in the current market. In the past, oil companies have spent too much on new wells when prices are high, only to be saddled with debt when prices fall.

EQT drills for natural gas in Appalachia and other areas. It's been dealing with a tough proxy battle brought by some of its shareholders. Singer says investors are overlooking its attributes, causing it to trade at a 20% discount to peers based on one earnings measure.

"We believe the Street is not giving credit for EQT's ability to generate positive free cash flow while growing production by mid-single digits; improving capital efficiency can further support a narrowed discount relative to peers, in our view," Singer writes.

Singer thinks EQT can rise to $24. It was trading at $19.85 on Thursday afternoon.

Antero is twice as cheap as peers, even though Singer believes "longer-term concerns over AR's ability to generate growth without rising leverage as hedges roll off are overdone." He thinks shares can rise to $10.50. They were trading at $6.90 on Thursday afternoon.

Gotcha. I wish u luck. I would encourage you to read senate bill360 West Virginia..... overall it has forced gas companies to be more fair with land owners and the way they pay the land owner royalties. This will all dip into the profits. The bill was passed last year. Land wonder now get offeeed a better % royalties and the percent is taken off the top. Before the bill, the gas companies would pay everyone that was involved and account for all supplies then subtract that from the proceeds of the sold gas then pay the land owner. It’s now they pay from total proceeds of the sold gas. Not trying to persuade u one way or another, just offering info of bill 360. Not saying it will affect AR price, but just saying it directly affects gas companies in the north east.

yes i took a starter position a week or so ago. I would think this is a bottom for AR. Lots of natural gas Waiting for demand to catch up with supply.

I think senate bill 360 from WV really killed the profit margin near the end of 2018 when the bill got passed. Not interested in the stock just did business with them on a gs lease and senate bill 360 really made it out well for the land owner, may be worth researching if ur in this stock.

Antero Resources (NYSE:AR) reported quarterly earnings of $0.46 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $0.44 by 4.55 percent. This is a 100 percent increase over earnings of $0.23 per share from the same period last year. The company reported quarterly sales of $1.24 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.22 billion by 1.64 percent. This is a 34.81 percent increase over sales of $919.844 million the same period last year.
