Kurupt, "Hint for possible buyer of their technology. yahoo site had confirmed mentions on i think the gm.volt page" VERY GOOD. Alti battery tech is far superior to what they have and the major complaint on the volt is the battery. I was in hygs when General Motors took an interest. They eventually decided after throwing millions into HYGS to go with the cheap ass battery. I would think they have now learned their lesson. The fuel cell is as of yet not economical. The battery tech still is.
Anybody else want to help out here on moderating? I have many boards and limited time. I would welcome any help. I took the board only because I believe in the tech and it was an orphan.
I buy when fear sets in. The market is the portrait of real life. Those that let fear control them lose. Buy when others are selling and sell when others are buying. This philosophy has served me well on positions with sufficient Due Diligence. Does anybody actually believe that the Cannon group is going to allow this to be de-listed? I guess that is why they put a big chunk of change here?
The trade intervals are about every 30 seconds. The sizes are about 100 to 200 shares at Bid. I'm thinking it might be programmed trading by a Seller/Institution to unwind a position. Maybe someone didn't like the report.
Ya no real reaction...Some of my position earlier in the month but leaving some on the table for a ride. UP or DOWN.
You still holding?
No sell off after earnings--no volume---
REVS were crap....but that statement had me do a double take.
multi-billion-dollar companies for evaluation of our technology
Hint for possible buyer of their technology. yahoo site had confirmed mentions on i think the gm.volt page. Let me double check. That would be last straw or dare to say R/S?
What did you make of earnings
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/altair-nanotechnologies-reports-2011-financial-120000792.html
"We initiated technical demonstration programs with several multi-billion-dollar companies for evaluation of our technology. These actions have demonstrated to our customers the superiority of our technology for a variety of applications; we anticipate that these initial steps will generate revenues in 2012 and beyond in the power grid, transportation and industrial market segments."
Tip: Danno + Bad Joke = Not Happy
What analyst would attend a CC on a 10-K Report when the darn thing isn't even filed with the SEC?
I wish to report a train wreck of confidence.
LULZ ----one can only sigh ...
CC Webcast Link?
Did someone forget to put out the cat/10-K and update the site for the webcast link? It's not rocket science to do either.
I see the CC just posted as news is scheduled for this Wednesday at 11:00 ET. Not a lot of notice, but good that there won't be an extension beyond the 30th. I assume the 10-K will be out that morning or Tuesday after close.
Do you really want to know?/?? It has to do with management, the attitude of management. Probably the total replacement of management and siblings. Both are arogant and think they owe the folks that have been supporting their bumb asses nothing. I am fond of neither.
I think of pinks today as the non-SEC reporters at OTC Markets (given that sites evolution and rating system). And, there are many pinks over $1.
What do you believe needs to happen to move the PPS back over $1?
To me anything under a dollar is considered a pinkie. Maybe that is a bad judgement on my part but it has worked out well for me to this point. Some folks need to do some charting on the "chartists".
It's a Nasdaq Listed, not pinkie. That's why I do pay a little more attention to chart and chart signals.
If you want to "flush" this one, OK. That's not my call.
Danno, I do have a use for the chart in the pinkies. Does commode ring a bell. I play many levels and the charts are useful in some. I also find them useful in the pinks if ones arse needs cleaning.
I'm not being contrarian, just practical about what moves a stock and what the chart (so far) suggests.
I assume we can both agree that resolving the issues will help the PPS get back to a more normal level. Canon's (subsidiary) investment is exactly what got my attention last year (moved to my interest list from watch-only) and one of the best reasons for a recovery (until proven otherwise).
I can also see a possible "W" bottom formation on the charts. I'm just not seeing volume develop to suggest trend reversal. I think we'll find out soon. A good retest would certainly help buyer confidence (IMO). It appears range stuck between $0.60 and $0.70 since the being of the month, so I'm watching for break to either direction.
I see nothing but good entry point below book for now. That's why I wouldn't get spooked over more selling, unless there is a good reason (something unknown/bad develops). I'm only seeing potentially positive resolutions on those issues, although some could obviously take time (and burn money) to play-out, e.g. China factory.
Danno, lets get real here for a moment. "a probable retest of $1 level to get back to Nasdaq quals." Lets see, the Cannon group bought into this to see it de-listed??? I think not. It will definitely not only test the $1 it will break it and retain the break. That is not a difficult summation.
Never say never is my thinking too. I'm just in keeping with the uncertainty principle on stock price, i.e. uncertainty usually doesn't help achieve a better price and will usually bring a lower one. I just don't know if that January low was the bottom, or there is a lower-low coming ahead of resolving some/all of those issues. I do believe a rebound back to above book value (at least) is coming and a probable retest of $1 level to get back to Nasdaq quals.
They are pretty quiet. Not even a CC announcement, yet. The 10-K is due by this Friday (or extension by week from Monday). Is it possible they will wait on one until they have more to talk about or more of those issues can be discussed? I'd be in favor of NOT having one until they have something(s) of real substance to discuss. Agree?
Danno, I have learned to never say never, but I do seriously doubt that will happen. If it does, I will be happy to pick up a few more.
If it doesn't hold a retest of .5701, think inverted head and shoulders with 50 DMA as neckline and the left shoulder as the January low.
Uncertainty issues are 10-K due by the 30th, the China factory, Domestication as Delaware Corp., and the El Salvador deal. I'm open to more suggestions on issues that need resolution/direction. That's why I'm thinking a retest and possible lower move could preceed any final reversal.
Not thinking we'll see much between now and the 10-K. The 10-K could clarify alot of those issues.
Also, I'm curious if Domestication can actually help close the El Salvador deal, e.g. does it make it eligible for USAID. Does regulatory problem in El Salvador mean "We need USAID money?". Does it look better as a US company for closing with USAID money?
I agree. It will get noticed. I am I am thinking did not years ago. .I am now thinking now that the Chinks have an interest (Cannon) this may spark further interest. The fact that the military had to be dropped held a certain urgency to me/.
it'll get noticed imo..
Some here seem to be looking for overnight success. The battery tech is awesome. Been over-looked to date.
i agree my friend. just needs a gust of wind to clear an obstacle or 2 on the chart. it'll come.
Patience will pay off here IMHO
good articles cj. many thx for your great dd as usual.
4 interesting ALTI pieces:
http://laptopbatterystore.typepad.com/blog/2011/10/lithium-titanate-battery-charge-18000-times.html
like wrestlin a grizzly bear, right? you don't quit when you get tired, you quit when the bear gets tired. lol.
:) Your conviction is admirable
the only reason i mention conviction is, well you know why. g/l cj.
IM making a switch to conviction instead of fast trading only
what I use to do 2000-2008
I would take a lil starter than root for stock to dip and LOAD
if I never get my dip--still good :)
we all have other jobs so no worries bud
thx cj and you are actually doin this full time if you have your orders in and sounds like you do. sounds like you have conviction here and guess time will tell. wish you and everyone the best. my apologies i have been away for a few days and the lack of time in responses. hope to be round more next week.
I am doing in ALTI what I did with nuro
Loading in this 60-62 range slowly though
With volume ALTI will soar like ibio cdti etc
click below to make alti go!
http://www.cksinfo.com/nature/weather/wind/index.html
that comv is stellar--especially if you can swing trade it--pops then fades--nice swing trading pattern
man wish did this full time
congrats again on recent success
thx cj. just saw the post. light volume again today i see.
ALTI http://www.aesenergystorage.com/news/libn-lipa-eyes-worlds-biggest-battery.html
Altair Nanotechnologies, AES collaborate on energy storage products
http://systemagicmotives.com/Altairnative%20Site/Power/Power%20Partners/aes_energy.htm
Sounds like a winner my friend.
Nice plan....I got a rule set for a price break above .70 on 100k+ volume. ALERT.
No doubt, i think the next update will be the Earnings filing.
Any chance of update from company?
been long time
i agree, and we should wait for shares right where "they" are or maybe a tick above. unless volume hits it Hard and this is imo, their just gonna fart around with it. so as we are the bank might as well get the best price and let them run her when they are ready. you agree?
Agree or not Facts R ALTI’s potential wit A major transit bus line, has already been stated \ announced back-IN June. they had agreed to a long-term agreement with Proterra Inc. <---Lets look deeper here.
Canon is obviously all googlyed eyed with the technology that Altair has. They are able to create lithium-titanate based battery systems that are among the highest performing and most effecient energy storage systems in the game. And like i said NOTICED by CANON
On the same day ALTI announced the agreement with Canon they also announced they had signed a conditional supply and technology license agreement with a Canon Investment Holdings affiliate Zhuhai Yintong Energy (YTE) which will bring in $6.6 million in revenue by the end of 2011.
Budz, they cant have it if you dont sell it. I stopped watching the booooring action BUT to lock-in highest % profits, r the ones that perceive patience as a virtue as a key factor in the marketplace
I wonder why they only dip it a few % off .72 - .75. Just a numbers game
No doubt. I notice people noticing, how thin that A$$K is

Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. pioneers the discovery, development and manufacture of ceramic nanomaterials, which are used in products that exhibit ground-breaking performance. Altair scientists and product development specialists have produced a diverse range of novel products for power and energy systems, life sciences, and advanced materials applications in Altairnano's 100,000 square-foot facility in Reno, NV and its 30,000 square-foot facility in Anderson, IN. Working with leading marketing partners in their respective industries, Altairnano manufactures and licenses superior product technologies.
TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM
Altairnano has developed a leading, proprietary technological platform for the commercial manufacture of a wide variety of advanced ceramic materials, including metal oxides, metal titanates and combination crystals, all of which can range in structure from hollow to porous. This patented platform, scaleable across all industries, is unique in the marketplace as it provides precision control of composition, chemical purity and particle size.
MARKET FOCUS
Altairnano has applied its nanotechnology to develop new materials in four key markets: power and energy systems, life sciences, performance materials and, through AlSher, a joint venture with Sherwin-Williams, the process for the manufacture of white pigment and other nanomaterials.
Altairnano Power and Energy Systems
Power and energy systems are major growth drivers for the company and will produce long-term value for its shareholders. Altairnano currently has product lines for three markets: transportation, stationary power, and military applications.
For a number of years Altairnano has been developing groundbreaking materials to solve the issues plaguing conventional batteries: high power and energy density, cycle life, weight, cost, and the ability to perform in extreme temperatures.
Battery systems manufactured with Altairnano's LTO electrodes are environmentally safe, will not display thermal runaway (no graphite), exhibit three times the power of conventional batteries, can recharge in minutes, last 10 to 15 years, and operate in extreme temperatures - from -22° to 480° Fahrenheit.
At conferences and automotive shows throughout the U.S., attendees are riding or driving "freeway ready" PMI SUTs and SUVs powered by Altairnano's 35kWh battery system. The battery system provides full-size vehicles with a standard range of 100 to 130 miles, a charge time of less than 10 minutes, and the capability of freeway speeds exceeding 100 mph. PMI plans to ship 500 vehicles utilizing Altairnano's battery packs during 2008.
Altairnano is collaborating with Alcoa's AFL Automotive unit for the development of an HEV battery pack system integrated with AFL's Active Power Management System for use in medium-duty, hybrid trucks.
Internationally, Altair and Micro-Vett have teamed up and the Micro-Vett Fiat Doblò five-seat station wagon, powered by an 18 kWh NanoSafe battery pack is cruising around a urban delivery circuit in Oslo, Norway. The Doblò will be driven an estimated total of 7,500 kilometers during the demonstration period and will be charged with AeroVironment's high voltage, 125kW rated rapid charging system. With a successful demonstration, there is a potential for shipment of 250 vehicles during 2008.
Altairnano is leveraging its product technology in new areas of power and energy storage, which include stationary power and battery systems for heavy-duty electric and HEV vehicle markets. In a joint development with AES, who made a $3 million equity investment in the company, Altairnano is developing and will supply AES with large-scale energy storage systems for use in the storage, conditioning and delivery of power. The first $1 million pilot system, scheduled for shipment in early 2008, will be installed in a major East Coast city. The 2MW system will provide 600 kWh of energy. There is a significant market for the storage and delivery of clean power to the grid during peak usage patterns.
Altairnano Materials
Altairnano Materials business has four product lines based on unique nano-materials for advanced coatings that deliver distinctive, proprietary product performance. The product lines are titanium dioxide pigment, nano-titanium products for thermal barrier coatings, nano-titanium products for air and water treatment and nano-material products for corrosion protection. Altairnano has entered into a development agreement with Sulzer Metco, the world's largest provider of thermal sprays and equipment. The agreement has resulted in the launch of Metco 9012, a nano-structured titanium oxide ceramic coating providing extremely high wear resistance for use on bearing sleeves, pumps and sputtering targets in the automotive, aerospace and power generation markets.
Altairnano and PPG Industries have entered into an agreement to develop dispersions for use in aerospace primer coatings, which will provide corrosion protections without the use of unsafe hexavalent chromium compounds. Early indications show Altairnano's nano metal oxide technology provides similar corrosion protection and is safe for the environment. There is a letter of intent to commercialize the technology in early 2008, if not before.
Altairnano's patented technology platform provides for the first new, viable pigment production process (AHP) in 50 years. Industry analysts forecast the white pigment market to exceed $9 billion with increased growth from third world countries.
Altairnano has formed a joint venture with The Sherwin-Williams Company, a leading global manufacturer of paint and durable coatings. The new company, AlSher Titania, will combine the AHP process and the Sherwin-Williams Hychlor Pigment process to develop and produce high quality titanium dioxide pigment for use in paint and coatings. Additionally, AlSher Titania will develop nano titanium dioxide materials for use in a variety of applications, including those related to removing contaminants from air and water. The pilot plant, initially based in Reno, NV, will be demonstrating the AlSher process with further scale-up and production capacity planned for 2008 and 2009.
Altair Life Sciences
Altairnano's nanomaterials have been used in the development of a phosphate binding drug candidate, RenaZorb™, for treatment of elevated phosphate levels in patients with kidney disease. With a cost effective drug presenting improved patient compliance, the market for phosphate binders is expected to reach $1 billion. The drug has been licensed to Spectrum Pharmaceuticals.
Altairnano has applied similar technology to develop Renalan™, a drug for the treatment of elevated phosphate levels in dogs and cats. Renalan, which can be used as a liquid, powder, or pill, is in the process of being licensed to Elanco Animal Health, a division of Eli Lilly. Elanco is expected to use Altairnano's nanomaterial-based products for the development of multiple products for animal health care.
