Appreciate your post here, jesse. As a veteran of biotech investing, you probably have leaned a lot--false starts, disappointing clinical trial results, and promising treatments flying under the radar.

The US has the most advanced biotech research because of our ability to raise capital on the public markets for these unproven (as of yet) treatments.

Orphan drugs are not abandoned in the US. They can find a way on to the market with the assistance of the FDA if given the chance to prove their efficacy.

I, too, tend towards biotechs in my higher risk portion of my portfolio. Just like to read the data, trade the swings and hold a core position for he long term if warranted.

I am a good example of how important the inflammatory system is in determining the course of the disease...I am a poster child for a guy who should have been finished by the virus..I have recently reached 80 years had a heart attack four years ago and had a highly lethal "saddleback) pulmonary embolus three years ago...Well in Feb of this year I tested positive for COV-19...

But rather than a serious course...I had only a temp of 101F for one day. No further fever. and had a runny nose, which cleared up with a nasal spray. I was a little tired for a couple of days...but was perfectly OK by day four...
Why was my course so benign when I qualified for the very worst outcome..

The answer was I was on Vascepa..Vascepa is an omega-3 EPA which has the effect on modulating and moderating systemic inflammation..I was on 4 gms/day and it kicked the crap out of the puny viruses. Without the inflammatory system to aid them, the viruses were harmless...

Your questions...1) How does the the purifier distinguish between the bad guys (viruses and malignancies)...from the good guys??

Ans: it doesn't. The exosome cargo is mainly information in the form of proteins and nucleic acids. Once the cloaking material, exosomes and sugars, are removed then the foreign proteins and nuclear sequence are destroyed by the immune and inflammatory systems. Because the material is identified as "non self". Proteins which are "self" do not trigger an immune or inflammatory response..

Please understand (most people including the clinicians don't) The presence of the virus is not the whole story and indeed is probably not even the most important. It is the response of the bodies immune and inflammatory systems to the viruses. As the contagion spreads more viruses spread throughout the body and the inflammatory system goes into overdrive and patients die from something called a "cytokine storm" which is really the inflammatory system gets out of control. That is why it is important to destroy the viruses before they get into the "log phase" or before they get into distant cells...

AEMD sounds amazing but i have a couple questions:

how does the purifier distinguish between a particle carrying a "message" spreading a disease vs all the other particles carrying on normal functions that contribute to cellular health?

If all particles are scrubbed during treatment, how do you keep a cancer cell or somesuch from blasting out another round of particles as soon as treatment stops?

I'm trying to understand how the treatment process works over time.

I really like this stock. One thing biotech players understand is the terrible effect of time. And how it takes its toll as the FDA rolls on and seems to throw one barrier after another until as Shakespeare notes "till the last syllable of recorded time"...AEMD may catch a break (and so will we) because the purifier is not a drug (Its a "device")..and in the FDA, devices run faster than drugs...Plus there is a Lazarus effect. the ability of a drug to bring back patients that physicians consider terminal. Takes shorter time frames and fewer patients..

A drug which is confirmed to cure Rabies or Glioblastoma could be green lighted through the FDA "marketing process" While a cure for Acne could take years and many thousand patients..The fact the hemo purifier has already shown it could effectively salvage one COV-19 patient who was deemed terminal...A patient who later walked out of the hospital..Is a big deal. The purifier is being tried on a limited number of very sick Covid patients. We should see the results in the up coming months (or maybe weeks) and that could light a huge fire under this stock...

AEMD is the future...

I have 30 positions in the market and most of them are in the biotech sector...Not all..but most..

Of all these positions I consider AEMD as the one with the greatest potential...How could that possibly be the case?

The answer is that AEMD's addresses the issues of viral contagion and metastases. Viruses are very puny things...So to become unsuccessful parasites..;ie contagion, plagues, pandemics etc that kill its hosts. They must not only be able spread by contact or in the air..They must also be able to spread internally through the hosts and to do this they must be able to use the circulation. What is great about AEMD....

I see no flashing red lights for AEMD...Their clinical research is a little bit difficult to understand, but if you do understand it..It is compelling and has the potential to treat very serious conditions which are lethal and at present can not be treated by other methods. we are talking cancer and viral contagions. These are not trivial and there are no current alternatives..

Your comments tell me you have no knowledge in the medical field..I unlike you am a graduate of MIT and Harvard Med with decades of expeience in medical research and clinical medicine. My take on this is the science of the purifier is very compelling and I do not see years of future Phase 2 and phase 3 incarceration in the FDA before they get the go ahead in the clinics...The reason I say this is plausible indications for this therapeutic modality is serious {lethal) viral infections and possibly blocking metastatic carcinoma..

The FDA can be and usually is a great impediment to medical research because the FDA's initial charter was to counter the flood of patent medicines most of which were not only Homeopathic but actual harmful in the early 20th century. The FDA does act off risk vs benefit...In this case the potential benefit is exceptional. The purifier has successfully salvaged patients with COV-19 who were deemed unsalvageable...And that is a very big deal. Clinicians who work in ICUs (Intensive Care Units)
Become very adept at who will survive and who wont...And it is very much more likely you will have a patient who you think is going to survive who doesn't.. Than have a patient you think is terminal ends up surviving..

FYI...Time Time Magazine named the Hemopurifier to be one of the "Top 25 Inventions" as well as one of the "Eleven Most Remarkable Advances in Healthcare." I fully agree with Time Magazine.

I am an MD with decades of clinical experience and have been involved in major medical research with intuitions like Mass General a major Harvard

Nice to hear from you..Amarin's problems are not in the scope of medicine or pathophysiology..Vascepa is arguably one of the greatest drugs ever.

But the company's problem were related to our regulatory drug system and politics. John Thero and the senior management displayed no skill what so ever and made errors and enemies in the government and in the FDA. The only skill Thero and Kennedy displayed was to loot Amarin's chauffer's to feather their own nests. A great example was provided by North who has ties to J&J...J&J had one entire floor which was nothing but Lobbyists..Amarin never heard the word...Maybe the new CEO can work miracles...

Certainly possible...Check out my last June 16th post regarding AEMD and Biogen. BIIG won the hoopla award hands down...but look at which issue AEMD or BIIG..is winning the money race. The Hemopurifier® is an FDA designated "Breakthrough Device" related to the treatment of individuals with advanced or metastatic cancer who are either unresponsive to or intolerant of standard of care therapy, and with cancer types in which exosomes have been shown to participate in the development or severity of the disease. Under an Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) application, in October 2019, the FDA approved an Early Feasibility Study (EFS), which is the device equivalent of a Phase 1 clinical trial for a drug or biologic, in a single center, open label trial in 10 to 12 subjects. The study is evaluating the HEMOPURIFIER® for reducing cancer-associated exosomes prior to the administration of standard-of-care pembrolizumab (KEYTRUDA®), which is a first-line therapy for patients with recurrent and/or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. The EFS is being conducted at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Hillman Cancer Center.

The Hemopurifier also holds a Breakthrough Device designation related to life-threatening viruses that are not addressed with approved therapies. In June 2020, the FDA approved an amendment to the Company's existing open IDE for the Hemopurifier in life threatening viral infections, to allow for the treatment of patients with SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 infection. This will allow for up to 40 of these patients to be treated under a new Early Feasibility Study protocol at up to 20 clinical sites in the U.S.

Two filtration companies have made serious advancement with the FDA. AEMD with their two FDA breakthrough designations and a very quiet little company based out of Toronto called Spectral Medical. It barely trades on the OTC and not too much more in Toronto as T.EDT. They are in a phase 4 confirmatory trial for Sepsis with 28 day mortality as the endpoint and massive inside ownership as the model. Good luck to both these science sultans!

FWIW ...the FDA is formulating near half of EDTXF's final data for the confirmatory trial using data from the phase 3 that was originally billed as a "FAILURE". Spectral was also granted the ability to use a 2 to 1 ratio in favor of their product in the confirmatory trial. Pay close attention to anonymous types wearing camo and trading where they can't be taken seriously.

The other problem with Biogen is the price point for a regimen. Way too expensive for the health care system.

AEMD's problem is its long history of trying to garner attention from the medical field with their limited financial resources. With their challenges over the years, there was rising short interest. The sharp spike in reaction to their news was partially due to short covering and the decline is reestablishing those short positions a higher prices.

Investors in biotechs have a tendency to suffer from ADD. Patience is not their forte.

Look at the low float stocks they run that are pure crap. They ran the O stock today. No news nothing. AEMD has solid news and analyst upgrades. Any day now they should run us up to higher highs than we saw last week with ease IMO. Shorts ladder walked us down to get all stop losses and weak hands out and it was overkill on the way down. Time to overkill them on the way up. If the O stock can be pushed over $20.00 on nothing we surely can do the same soon.

I don't know how much experience you have in investing in biotechs..They can be extremely volatile and you have a lot of people including funds who don't know the science and medicine and probably should not be investing in this sector..

In the case of AEMD this advice should be doubled..at present I present two stocks..one is BIIB Who has recently got an FDA accelerated semi approval for an Alzheimer's drug...The approval came after an "Adcom" where the panel acknowledged that Biogen's drug did clear up some of the Beta amyloid which is a calling card of AD...This looks great but the trouble is there is no compelling evidence that removing Beta-Amyloid will improve the symptoms of AD...

The second issue is AEMD..In its latest chapter AEMD's plasma purifier was used in two patient with COV-19 both in dire straights and considered terminal (not going to live) and one of these patients actually walked out of the Hospital and went home after the AEWMD treatment..

Now which of these should you believe. The BiiB result resulted from a Peer reviewed study with a lot of patients. The second was from a small company with no intent other than to try to save a life or two in which clinicians were convinced there were no other options. Most would focus on the Biogen trial..IMO that is a huge mistake. I am much more impressed by AEMD's result than Biogen's. I have a long history in clinical medicine and medical research and I know how hard it is to save a patient when the consensus of the clinicians are that the patient is going to die. And further more considering the pathophysiology..in this case I understand how the AEMD treatment worked and am convinced this is no fluke...And that's why I am invested in this stock and have puts on Biogen...

So I do not care if the PPS is going down because I will be buying more stock when the price drops..I feel confident AEMDs treatment is the real McCoy...

There were more than 2 patients tested this is another myth they have many studies going. 150 patients in one from what I remember. AEMD is going to run another couple hundred percent above soon IMO and crush all stop loss traders and weak handed panic sellers as we squeeze these shorts into bankruptcy ahead soon IMO.

On Yahoo...some poster criticized the fact that AEMDs "purifier" which was used on two terminal patients in the last stages of COV 19 (one of the two patients recovered and was discharged) was Quote "Not peer reviewed..and was worthless".

This individual thinks he is an expert on all things AEMD and is bearish does not understand what happened..

It is true the fact one of two patients considered terminal. did survive does not suggest this is a Peer reviewed Clinical trial. The design here was not like a Phase 3 clinical trial studying efficacy. This was compassionate use of AEMD's purifier in a situation that FDA agreed both patients were terminal, and there was no other options...

The fact one of these patients survived is in my mind very promising. When I was in med school I got summer job working at Avco Everette Research labs. Which were working in conjunction with Mass General on the Intra Aortic Balloon Pump. That was back in the mid 1960s..The early use of the balloon pump at the Mass General Hosp.at The Brigham, both Harvard Hospitals in Boston and Maimonides in Brooklyn...Were pretty depressing.. We were also working on terminal patients with terrible hearts and none of our original patients survived..

The balloon pump is still an use and has saved thousands of patients. And believe me we never batted 50% in our first two patients...

The AEMD filings hit late Friday on the $9.00 per share offering that is now closed. We have a tiny float and OS and we have a majority shareholder of the company who owns at $9.00 per share. Time to run to $15.00 to $20.00 this week ahead we need to get rid of all stop loss traders to get he massive short positions to cover.

To those of you who do not know me..I am a grad of Harvard Med School with a Chem E degree from MIT...

This is a very cool situation..(Better by far than the phony Biogen drug recently Oked BY the FDA for treatment of AD,,Approved after an AdCom which failed to show the drug had any clinical benefit. and was going to cost $56K per individual annually..

AEMD is probably going to be slow to be adopted by the market as it is complicated, but the clinical effects are mind blowing..

The physiological benefits involve the actions of "exosomes" that only a small fraction of med students or grads are familiar with..The subject deals with Access..Complex life forms like mammals..Have to deal with two separate and non compatible chemical interfaces which are polar (they have positive or negative charges) or non polar interfaces.. Polar and non polar do not mix.. We know this as oil and water...Water is polar and oil is non polar..Viruses like Covid require the protection of lipid cover to exist in the cell cytoplasm..to transport out in the blood stream and they find this cover in microscopic "vesicles" which in lay terms are bubbles found in the cytoplasm of the host cells..These are called exosomes..Inside the exosomes the virus can survive and be transported in the blood stream..The virus is not doing any great harm if it is floating around in the circulation..what does happen is the virus can be conveyed to the cell membrane surface and the exosomes have the correct structure to penetrate the cell membrane and deliver the virus into the cell where it does the damage..

What AEMD's plasma purifier does is to add an agent which destroys the exosomes' membrane which throws the viruses into the blood stream where it can not penetrate the cell membrane and are neutralized (killed) by the immune and inflammatory systems...

This is the real McCoy......The amazing potential here is that exosome disruption should end the career of any of these or future viral outbreaks and pandemics...
