I brush mine with melted butter.
I should have taken an image of the biscuits I baked this morning. I baked 8 and had dough left over, which I baked separately. I can't remember whether you brush the tops with an egg wash or melted butter so the tops brown and look like photos of biscuits you see in the magazines.
I baked a loaf of banana bread using Splenda for the diabetic residents. Bill is a veteran who has no feet now and will probably have more of one of his legs removed.
It is an interesting plant.
Those are beautiful!
Do any of them have a job- besides the guy who works in a restaurant- or did- before the virus closed them.
It's not worth the trouble. They are mainly lowlife individuals who slept on the streets before they became residents.

Could you make a sign or tell them that in order to get anything else- they have to return the jar(s) that they have?
You should keep a list of residents you give pickles to. Then when they want more, make them bring back the jar.
Yeah, Publix on South Blvd has jars. Maybe later this month. The residents don't return them to me, and I've just about given up on them.
You could order a ton of jars online. That'd be worth it if you could find free or cheap shipping. Failing that, this time of year hardware stores sell 'em.
Pickles look good.
July 4--Another carrot cake. Again I used 2 cups of all purpose flour instead of 1 1/2. I also added a bit more unsweetened apple sauce and a tad more buttermilk instead of the 1/3 cup the recipe called for. I've learned this convection combination microwave oven takes longer to bake the dough. I set the timer to 60 minutes with the idea of checking it with a wooden skewer. I feel asleep listening to a Yale video lecture. I checked the cake which was still quite hot and the skewer came up dry.
Perfect for the shortcake!
15 minutes at most
Next time you make 'em, do one biggish one--it only needs to be roundish, not perfectly round--and then turn it into my mother's strawberry shortcake. Before you start the biscuits, macerate halved or quartered strawberries with granulated sugar to taste and make whipped cream, using confectioner's sugar for that.
Bake your biscuit (or biscuits) about half an hour before you want to eat your dessert. When it's done, let it cool just a little. Then split it in half horizontally, and butter each half. Butter each half. Then spoon about half the berries over the bottom half, add the top half, and then the rest of the berries. Top with whipped cream.
Really simple, but one of the best things my mother ever made. I think it's the butter that makes the difference. As I recall, she didn't put sugar in the biscuit dough, so it wasn't too sweet.
You could of course use other kinds of berries.
Don't forget to adjust your baking time accordingly.
Next batch I make there will be fewer but they will be thicker using the same amount of ingredients.
Yes, that would be tasty. Maybe add a little onion salt. Or actual onion. And salt.
I wish you lived next door!
also it would make a terrific veggie dip- carrots, celery cukes, etc.
That'll be good. If you have a cucumber, you could put it on that, too.
I didn't place a pecan half on this batch of pound cake cookies. I also did something else different. I stuck a toothpick in a cookie after 30 minutes at 350. It came out clean. This is a soft sort of cake like cookie. I made so much frosting I spooned it into a container and placed it in the fridge. What I will do is place a dab of frosting on each cookie and top it with a pecan half.
With a slab of salmon
It's tangy. Food Lion didn't have a single lemon, so I used some key lime juice I had in the fridge. I used EVOO instead of milk. No mayo. Just sour cream. Garlic powder. 1/2 tsp sugar. 2 tbsp. dill weed.
Ha! Those sound just about perfect for what I have, Put my name on wait list for the seeds.
I've never heard of them, but I do have a trellis to use. I'll order some seeds for next year.
You need to grow Minnesota Midget cantaloupes on a trellis
I don't have enough room to grow those! I'll just keep buying them at the store. Also not having much luck with my cantaloupe. And I don't even have a no-good sneaky Tom Cat to hinder them!

They look like they'll be tasty.
