Holy Cow! (good phrase for this board, eh?)...that is the best iBox on iHub!
Sticky Fingers is a Southern BBQ restaurant that also offers products on line as well.
When I say, "store bought," I mean typical grocery store brands such as, Open Pit, Bulls Eye, etc.
I've never tried Phil's so I don't know if it better or not.
Originally coming from Maryland, I'm use to sweeter tasting sauces. However, NC (where I now reside) sauces are a little more spicier and vinegar based. I've grown to acquire a taste for both (depending on the mood). I'm allergic to pork products so I only use it on chicken.
re: "can't eat store bought..."
What I don't know about is if what one receives via an internet order is different
than what one receives and eats at the source location.
(gosh, my english grammer is extra poor today :)
For sure Phil's delivery to Matt come in excellent condition, and I think I remember that
Matt mentioned it was overnight and dry iced frozen, maybe.
Just taken off the cooker adds to the experience and must taste the best at that time.
But some foods need "age" like cheese, but I don't think bbq or grilled meat does.
My insight into food preparation and cooking is near zero, so don't know if freezing bbq
takes away from the taste and texture.
Sometimes to torture myself I watch the Food tv channel when they have bbq cook-offs,
but when cooks mention them awards of First Place I think its hype based on Matt saying
that Phil's is the best and others he tried were much lessor.

oh and I also buy the rub as well
we grill chicken a lot and I'll poke some holes and sprinkle some of the rub on first and then add the sauce
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Hi Gotmilk
This place has some outstanding bbq sauce! I've tried them all and like the "Carolina Classic" best. I can't eat store bought anymore after having tried these sauces!
