Dr. Ben-Zion Weiner was Head of Global
Research and Development at Teva
Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. for over three
decades, including as a member of the Teva
Executive Committee. He directly oversaw all
pharmaceutical development and regulatory
approval of Teva’s innovative product pipeline.
Dr. Weiner was also responsible for the
development of hundreds of generic products
for the US, European, and other markets. He
received a BSc degree in general chemistry
and biochemistry and an MSc degree in
organic chemistry, graduating with distinction
for both degrees from the Hebrew University,
Jerusalem. He received his PhD degree in
chemistry at the Hebrew University,
Jerusalem, and conducted his post-doctoral
research at Schering-Plough Corporation in
