That’s a good question. I would guess a mistake, October 2017 was the anticipated court date.

Not a mistake. That's the date the trial will begin basically both parties have until then to come to an agreement. The schedule for discovery and depositions is now in play. This case will not see a trial IMO. I'm will be settled long before.
