SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) _ Rambus Inc. (RMBS) on Monday reported first-quarter net income of $9.5 million.
The Sunnyvale, California-based company said it had profit of 8 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 14 cents per share.
The memory chip designer posted revenue of $72.9 million in the period.
For the current quarter ending in June, Rambus said it expects revenue in the range of $70 million to $74 million. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $73.1 million.
Rambus shares have climbed 15 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $12.72, a climb of slightly more than 3 percent in the last 12 months.
