Google, Inc. Symbol Change and Stock Dividend

On April 3, 2014 Google, Inc. (GOOG) will issue a stock dividend and change symbols. You should carefully read the important information below to determine if this will affect you.

What is changing?

? Today, Google, Inc. Class A shares are trading under symbol GOOG. On April 3, Class A shares will begin trading under symbol GOOGL.

? Holders of Class A shares are expected to receive a stock dividend of a new Class C stock on a one-for-one basis. The new Class C shares will trade under symbol GOOG.

How does this affect me?

? All open stock and options¹ orders for Google, Inc. will be cancelled prior to market open on April 3. You will need to re-enter those orders yourself if you decide to do so. You should carefully review the symbol for the share class you wish to trade prior to entering any new orders. ? If you are an eligible holder of Google, Inc. Class A shares before April 3, you will receive one share of Class C stock for every share of Class A stock that you hold. For example, if you held 10 shares of Class A (current symbol GOOG) stock before the stock dividend, you will have 10 shares of Class A (new symbol GOOGL) stock and 10 shares of Class C (symbol GOOG) stock after the stock dividend.

? Orders for Class A (GOOGL) shares can be placed online on April 3, and the stock dividend of Class C (GOOG) shares will be visible in your account on April 4.
