JERICHO, NY--(MARKET WIRE)--Feb 28, 2006 -- bioMETRX, Inc (OTC BB:BMTX.OB - News) announced it is launching smartSTAT™, the world's first biometrics-based thermostat in time for Labor Day. The smartSTAT™ Thermostat requires users to place their finger on a sensor before they can alter the temperature settings of the thermostat. If the person's finger is not recognized by the thermostat, they can't change the settings. With recent energy costs soaring, and the prices of heating oil and natural gas both hitting an all time high, the smartSTAT™ Thermostat reduces energy costs by restricting access to HVAC systems by unauthorized users.

"The patent pending smartSTAT™ Thermostat has been in development for several months and we are very excited about the immediate energy cost savings that this product can create," noted Lorraine Yarde, President of smartTOUCH Consumer Products, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of bioMETRX, Inc.

Ms. Yarde continued, "The genesis of this product started with simple observations of thermostats that have been installed in public areas, such as restaurants, shopping malls, and airports, and we noticed that those thermostats were secured by big, ugly clear plastic boxes, most of which were ripped off the walls. We noticed patrons getting up from their tables and actually changing the settings on the thermostats. We also watched employees trying to manipulate thermostats through vent slots on those plastic boxes with paperclips and hangers. Finally, our CEO's 15-year-old son kept changing the temperature settings on his floor of the home in the middle of the night. I think that's the time he decided to put our finger activation technology into a thermostat."

The smartSTAT™ Thermostat is a fully programmable, Energy Star efficient thermostat designed with common programmable features found in other popular thermostats. However, the most unique programmable feature of the smartSTAT™ is that up to 15 users can be authorized to alter temperature settings in a particular environment by simply placing their finger on the device. Should that person no longer require access, you simply delete their fingerprint access. The smartSTAT(TM) is expected to list for $189.95 and should be available through major retailers and through our smartTOUCH™ Certified Dealer Network by Labor Day.

Mark Basile, Chief Executive Officer of bioMETRX, Inc. also commented, "Last month, bioMETRX's first product, the smartTOUCH Garage Door Opener was featured on HGTV's 'I Want That' national television show. Since then, we have received orders exceeding 23,000 units. Today, we are announcing a product that not only simplifies a way to secure a thermostat, but saves consumers and small businesses money. There is a real monetary benefit directly attributable to this product."
