Everyone has seen and read what I posted. I posted that I have heard of rumors.

RUMORS THAT MANY PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD HAVE ALSO HEARD, but none of them are posting the content of the rumors either. RUMORS THAT A DEAL IS VERY CLOSE TO CLOSING.

Gossip is bad. Rumors are also bad. Anyone can be plugged into rumors, it just takes a little work to forge the connections.

You won't email me, which is fine. I won't repeat rumors in a public forum, either.

These rumors are well circulated, and in the public domain, for people who have made the effort to connect.

You won't make the effort, which is too bad.
