As you can see there has been a steady chatter increase regarding SEC halts & Suspensions over the past month.

Suspensions are usually the end for the stock or it being sent to grey sheets during the suspension, while halts may once again be traded once SEC allows.

Recently PTOG (halted) & AVNE (Suspended) by the SEC. If you have never experienced a halted/suspended stock, in most cases the stock looses 80% or more of its trading value if or when it resumes trading. It does not mean the stock won't once again trade at pre-halted levels, but often opens at a fraction it once traded.

IMHO, this is just the beginning of many trading halts to come. Additionally, I believe they will be focusing on stocks within the Marijuana and related industries. I have listed some information below that will help you to understand the halt process and what it could mean to you.

With the rapid ascent in the stocks of companies that just press release their intention to get into the space, it is clear that there is room for dishonesty. One CEO in the space went as far as to suggest that a sweep has already commenced.

Personally, my "investments" in this industry sector are being lightened. As I have made mention on many occasion, these penny stocks change their names and business focus like changes in the wind direction. IMHO it would be prudent to exercise caution now the SEC has it's marijuana microscope out.
