Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (GILT) Partners with Inmarsat to Capitalize on New Fixed Land VSAT Opportunities for Global Xpress® Services
Gilat Satellite Networks, a prominent player in satellite networking technology, solutions, and services across the globe, announced today that it has entered into a partnership with Inmarsat (LSE:ISAT.L) to capitalize on additional market opportunities for the forthcoming Global Xpress service in the fixed, land-based VSAT sector. Inmarsat is the leading supplier of global mobile satellite communications services.
Gilat’s technical offering is ideally suited to drive adoption of Global Xpress amongst end-users in need of fixed VSAT broadband connectivity. The agreement stipulates that Gilat will supply an entire portfolio of fixed GX land terminals and associated network management resources to VARs. This will allow VARs to tackle the additional identified opportunities.
All 3 of the GX in Inmarsat’s fleet (the Inmarsat-5 constellation) are on track to provide global coverage before the end of 2014. The revolutionary Ka-band network will deliver globally available, high-speed broadband data services, the likes of which the industry has never seen.
