Actually Abbott was using it in a different application, LCOS treatment over a period of months, it didn't work. OXBT is using it for heart surgery patients, a one shot administration to prevent LCOS. BIG difference. Also an important FACT you left out is it is approved in 40 + countries around the world and is already in use everyday. Coupled with the FACT the FDA has granted fast track status and it is an event driven trial, the drug's results will be evaluted after the first 200 patients. If it meets the primary end point the trial will be stopped and an NDA will be filed. This could be by next June.
