I also find it quite interesting that Ross and Watsa are only taking one-third of their stake off the table at this juncture, while institutional funds and retailers alike are absorbing that transfer of shares at this level. The Irish govt seems to be holding their 14% stake in shares a bit longer?
110.4M volume on BKIR today is moving the transfer to of that big block of shares the next investors, which may not get washed out for a bit longer.
It is a strong sign for future BKIR and IRE appreciation, but BKIR is not going to one euro nor IRE a hundred bucks in the next year.
A few years down the road, perhaps.
Ross and Watsa took one third off the table for their initial investment and then some. I did as well.
There is always another deep value investment to get involved in. These guys are going to move their money into the next opportunity they find attractive and so am I.
I find Santander quite attractive at this level for accumulation and have been acting accordingly.
