If you read more about Mel and his quest for the Atocha, he had to fight off the feds and the state to earn his right to the Atocha, and by doing so he paved the way for all treasure hunters to still be in business today. On his own dime. Art McKee may have been the Grandfather of marine treasure hunting but that was an era where it was a free for all. I would say how Mel dealt the government and the state a blow gives him right to be the Grandfather of modern day treasure hunters.
Then losing his son and daughter in law in his search for the Atocha I would say he earned his rights to the treasure of the Atocha no matter where it is found. And that is how the law states. So they (Fishers) had every right to protect their interest and the interests of the investors.
Personally i wasn't to happy with all the attacks against the Fishers over a scam perpetrated by a couple of stupid in-lander's.
Hoping something comes out dirty with Kim? Why? he didn't scam all the investors of ORRV out of their hard earned cash? And several others.
And to think someone perpetrated a fraud so severe they thought taking their own life was the easiest way out, Wow what a turn of events. I like this picture. These emeralds were bought and taken off shore and planted to scam investors.
