I'll start with the most recent PR - a sign of good things to come, I hope. I've followed this company for years. Two strengths - wireless and M.I.T. gurus.

Kopin Signs Multi-Year Program To Be HBT Wafer Provider to Alpha Industries

Companies Work Together on High Performance InGaP HBT Transistors for Alpha's Advanced Wireless and Broadband Solutions

TAUNTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 2001--Kopin Corporation (Nasdaq: KOPN), the leading provider of gallium arsenide (GaAs) heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBT) for wireless, fiber-optic and Internet communications, today announced that it signed a multi-year contract to provide high-performance InGaP HBT transistor wafers to Alpha Industries (Nasdaq: AHAA), a leading provider of RF integrated circuit-based solutions for the broadband and wireless communications markets.

"Alpha Industries is a premier circuit provider for the wireless and broadband markets, and we are very excited to announce our supply partnership with them," said Dr. John C.C. Fan, Kopin's president and chief executive officer. "We have worked closely with their technical and product teams and are looking forward to supporting their expansion of HBT programs. This validates our strategic plan to deliver precisely what communications circuit manufacturers are looking for - high-performance HBT transistor wafer production that is reliable, consistent and highly scalable."

"We are pleased to announce our agreement with Kopin to be the prime supplier of HBT wafers to Alpha," stated Kenneth Bushmich, Alpha's Director of Operations. "Alpha is focused on offering our customers the most advanced HBT circuits in the marketplace. Kopin is a proven leader in high-volume HBT wafer manufacturing with state-of-the-art production facilities and capabilities, and provides us with an excellent roadmap for our next-generation HBT products."

The new program expands Kopin's position as the world's leading volume manufacturer of GaAs HBT transistor wafers for the wireless communications market. The Company's proprietary, high-performance transistors are used to produce power amplifier circuits for CDMA, TDMA, GSM digital cellular and PCS handsets. Kopin's HBT transistors also are ideally suited for the third-generation (3G) digital wireless standard, which will support wireless Internet applications. In addition, Kopin's transistors are used in circuits for broadband OC-48 and OC-192 SONET systems, which form the backbone of the highest speed fiber-optic networks. The Company recently announced its new InP HBT product for next-generation 40-giga bits per second OC-768 SONET systems.
