That guy is GOOD!

Milk thistle seed: very strong hepato-protective (liver protective) effects. I grind the whole seed and add it to food or coffee (AFTER I filtered the coffee so the ground seed stays in) Can be taken as "silymarin" extract (the active ingredient. IMHO the whole seed is better. I had been taking it for years before developing iron overload and it's probably the reason why, very uncharacteristically my liver enzymes were only slightly above normal (usually they are grossly elevated) and not a trace of chirrosis.

IP6 (inositol hexaphosphate AKA phytate, phytic acid) present in grains and the main reason why grains can block iron absorption.
DO NOT TAKE WITH VITAMIN C (blocks the effect) or with food high in vitamin C

IP6 has a ring structure that acts as a trap that closes on iron and locks it in a "cage" where nothing can get at it. (It's a plant's defense mechanism against herbivores)

Lactoferrin: AMAZING protein. it can carry iron. "APO" lactoferrin is lactoferrin that has NO iron in it which is the kind you want. Taking it with a meal makes the iron more bioavailable (NOT what you want). This protein has many antibiotic properties (the GOOD kind: encourages beneficial bacteria while suppressing pathogens (good against Candida albicans and a whole host of other nasties). Naturally occuring in milk.

New Zealand is the best source of lactoferrin (cows raised in cleanest environment, no growth hormones, no problem ever with BSE
(Disclosure: NZ is my second citizenship)

I haven't heard of this guy before (have followed alternative med press for years) but he really knows his stuff.

MUST READ REFERENCE "Iron, Infection and Neoplasia" Eugene Weinburg

Chronic activation of the iron withholding defense mechanism (one of our front line defenses against pathogens for whom iron is a growth limiting factor - most of them MUST have it) due to chronic infection is a far more common cause of anemia than inadequate dietary iron. But most US doctors treat anemia with iron supplements without even testing or looking for infection. Iron supplements can overcome the IWDM and greatly exacerbate the infection. In anemia caused by chronic activaton of the IWDM, resolving the infection with restore iron balance and cure the anemia with NO iron supplementation. (Iron supplements are in a form that is far more readily accessible to pathogens than iron in food.)

US MEDICINE IS APPALLINGLY IGNORANT OF SUCH ISSUES (despite Dr. Weinburg's publication

!!! I cannot find Dr Weingberg's article "Iron, Infection and Neoplasia !!! (I read it back when the Index Medicus was in hard copy only (no computer searching). Maybe pubmed doesn't go back that far.
