New DDS Injection Molding/Bioadhesive Process!$!$!$

BIOADHESIVES AND PROCESSES FOR MAKING SAME

APPARATUS AND LOW TEMPERATURE PROCESS FOR PRODUCING DRIED DISTILLERS SOLUBLES

The DDS can also be dry blended with a wide range of additional powder resin as a bioextender to either lower the cost of the petrochemical resin powder or provide functional advantages to the overall blend. DDS can also be added to various formaldehyde resins wherein the proteins can scavenge the residual formaldehyde and increase the biobased content of the resulting product. Such powder or liquid resins include but not limited to: phenol formaldehyde, urea formaldehyde and melamine formaldehyde adhesives.

[0065] As noted above, the DDS after being subjected to the drying process is in powder and/or granular form. The resulting DDS is elastomeric and can be injection molded to extruded to form a stable profiled article of manufacture. The particular end use for the article of manufacture is not intended to be limited. For example, flat sheets can be readily formed or profiled structures can be formed. Advantageously, low temperature extrusion processes, typically less than 200.degree. F., can be used to form various products such as, for example, baseboards, edgebanding, and other flexible profiles.

Good Luck To All!$!$!$!$!$!$
