Gryphon Gold filed for Chapter 11 protection with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of Nevada, case number 13-51496. The Company, which engages in the acquisition, exploration and development of gold properties primarily in Nevada, is represented by Stephen R. Harris of Harris Law Practice. The Company announced that it initiated this filing "in an effort to address certain operational and liquidity challenges." Gryphon Gold also announced that, on July 22, 2013, it was served with a civil complaint to appoint a receiver. The complaint was filed in the Second Judicial District Court for the State of Nevada by certain shareholders.
