Final Report : Feb 2013 : DTRA/BARDA.......DOD : now someone please explain to me why Bavituximab would be mentioned in this report (page 15) ... still have to read it again because just as there is an oncology landscape change in progress... there is also a different approach being taken at places far above the FDA ... and Peregrine may just be in the mix of it all.

Virus-induced activation and apoptosis result in a loss of lipid asymmetry, with phosphatidylserine appearing on the outer, exposed leaflet.

Removes enveloped viruses from the bloodstream, induces ADCC to eliminate virally infected cells.

The FDA doesn't go out and publish reports such as this and "advise" the DOD/DTRA/BARDA: but when its time to make judgements on a small biotech with a pipeline such as Bavi....trust me, reports such as this will play a major factor on future decisions.

Remember.... those guidelines that the FDA published... there is wiggle room left in there (purposely!) for them to make moves that scares the hell out of Big Pharma. Peregrine, a small biotech with a novel drug that serves as a platform of sorts in oncology, anti-viral, infectious diseases, their own manufacturing and did we forget to mention imaging and detection... and ?

It will be interesting to see how the opposition carves its next path of resistance.
