I switched brokers awhile back and now I can trade chilled stocks if/when I want, so it no longer matters to me what is/isn't chilled.

I got tired of paying those unexpected clearing fees. Cost me over $800 in fees for trading 2 different chilled stocks. The worst part was, that broker never mentioned prior to the trade, that I was buying a chilled stock. They were happy soaking me ridiculous charges.

I use Fidelity if/when trading a chilled stock. I also use TDA, though they won't trade chilled stocks. With TDA, atleast they have the decency to refuse the trade, unlike my previous broker.
