It will be forced eventually down each states throat or do you not have a clue about how constitutional laws work? The second CA is booted there will be other states who also have constitutions who have also passed Defense of Marriage Acts that will get challenged and they will also lose. Now this court could save everybody time and rule on it but with the current makeup of conservative hacks like Thomas and Scalia and Alito they will hardly ever do the right thing.

Of course in your limited understanding of what states do and do not have to recognize - would a state have to recognize a same sex marriage of a couple married in MA who then move to some state that does not recognize same sex marriage performed in MA but will recognize not same sex marriage as they now do performed in MA. It will be interesting when that happens to the states that do recognize same sex marriage. I could foresee many states not recognizing any marriages performed by any state that does not recognize their marriages.
